I have always thought that Paul referred to a physical problem with his "thorn in the flesh". Perhaps blindness.
However, my own experience with temporal epilepsy makes it easy to imagine that he might have thought he was being tormented by a demon or Satanic messenger. The visions I was plagued with sent me back to Christianity until a communicative neurologist explained to me what was happening and how to stop it, without prayers and such.:)
@MacNutz2 In a later video, I might offer a speculation that Paul had migralepsy: epilepsy with migraines. I'm still thinking about this, but there are some interesting aspects to that hypothesis. And migraines do sometimes impair vision temporarily.
@markdzima Desert sun and migraines don't mix well.
His experience on the road to Damascus always read like a neurological episode of some sort, to me. Some have speculated that he had a benign brain tumor.
As a Southern Baptist I was taught that Paul was blind in his later years

Since the demons are supposedly fallen angels and since Satan is their leader, it makes sense to me. Nice work.
