saw Richie Last night with George Lynch and Paul Gilbert. Richie's set was so much better than the others though Paul's was amazing. George Lynch is old..and sloppy as heck and more than a little bitter. Anyway Paul;'s Set was technical and amazing guitar playing but Richie's set was full of great guitar moments but more than anything really good music.

Kotzen has albums out, he was originally signed to Mike Varneys Shrapnel label for a while, in the early 90's he was in poison for a year and recorded the 1993 "Native Tongue" album and did the tour. He's got tons of soul and great technique.

No shit his early stuff was unreal. His REH video has this sweep tap legato string-skip improv at the end that is absolutely rediculous. To this day I haven't seen anything more intimidating to learn than that piece out of anyone alive or dead. You would have to have perfect legato and sweep picking technique just to attempt it. He is one of the freakiest guitarist to ever play. And he was only like 18 when he recorded that instructional video

Ritchie 1st album 20 odd years ago blew my mind...and he's still one of the best 'unknowns' around.

There is an excellent video of Jason Becker telling about the time he invited RK over to the studio to help with something on his album...and how RK totally smoked him in a Jam.

RK's probably forgotten more than most guitarist will ever learn.

Pity the sound is dodgy in this Vid, cause he is laying out some wild stuff in it :)
