my dad always let me watch red dwarf when I was little and I didnt really get the jokes but still liked to watch it. Now ive seen this scene again Im glad I finally get the jokes and it cracks me up!!! especially 1:30
I was going to reply but others have beat me to it lol. A agree though that there is a lot of good comedy from US (also like to a lesser degree; King of Queens, Everybody love Raymond and Just Shoot Me). At the time Married with Children was on I was young and impressionable and had a thing for Christina Applegate which I think probably made it easy to enjoy it more. Each to their own :D
Just seen your reply - LOL. Red Dwarf if good but I think it's time for you to get out your pit, get a life, and grow up. I will comment as I see fit, thanks very much.
Well, I suppose you're at least being coherent about it, rather than typing "u r rtrd" or some such nonsense. But still, there's no need for petty comments.
@jonjonrov Excellent point. Arrested Development, 30 rock, scrubs, news radio, how i met your mother, and the office(american of course), are all excellent comedy sitcoms* from America.
@JacobFury The office was a series Originally from Britain, And on Britains side i can say ..... Red Dwarf, The Office, Worst Week of my Life, Lead Balloon, Gavin and Stacy, Benidorm, Little Britain, French and Saunders, The Vicar of Dibley, Blackadder i can go on and on there are at least Half a dozen other names that spring to mind instantly
@JacobFury The English though have loads of absolutely fantastic comedies Red Dwarf, Some Mothers Do Have Them, Two Ronnies, Thin Blue Line, Black Adder, Mr. Bean, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Only Fools and Horses and loads of others i'm sorry but America just does not have the comedic touch the English have.
omg, its max from eastenders :/

King of Queens and Everybody loves Raymond aren't funny and have no place in the same discussion as Red Dwarf.

I see. I make a valid point and you just decide to make an attempted insult.
discoder 2 years ago
You stand corrected. I think you will find my point is equally valid.

Absolutely, we both agree then; there is no need for your petty comments.
NibblesBigNuts 2 years ago
As there is no need for yours.

OK, are we done yet, because I've got other things to comment on (all valid ones aswell... honest :D). Enough petty quibbling already.

firestartertwistedfi 4 years ago
top list, what about Curb your Emphusiasm, and Married with Children too :D
NibblesBigNuts 4 years ago
i like curb your enthusiasm, what i've seen of it. what is married with children?
firestartertwistedfi 4 years ago
Married with children - a story of Al, a shoe saleman, colage football "star", his wife Peg and their children :] A good sitcom, i must say :]

I love Curb Your Enthusiasm, but I just don't rate Married with Children. I've seen bits of it and just didn't find it funny.
That's NOT to say that great comedy HASN'T come from the US though. I think of Cheers, Frasier, Family Guy and the Phil Silvers show. Classics all.
Thraxwhirl 4 years ago
yeah bilko is definitely up there - haven't seen that in ages

Scrubs is fantastic as well -- like Red Dwarf, people either love it or hate it.
