@KungFuNik the important things when you are going to execute a straight armbar is to to make sure that you are very tight, and the thumb on the executed arm is to point up. just som basics! but you don't need to put your hands in his armpits. But it is one effective way from the mount. it is important to keep leverage on the opponent.
Roy Dean is the man..........man skill level is top notch. I would to train with him. I live in Seattle too, so I should make that trip to Oregon.......
It's a tad difficult to do this, and besides you should easily be able to unable him to roll out of it, even with your legs on the outside, you can feel him try to do it in time.
Outstanding instruction once again. I was waiting for this new instructional. The best quality clips I've seen anywhere. YouTube or otherwise. There should be a law against some of the instrcution that's out there right now and the difference in quality. Guys who are white belts for WELL over a year, going to class 2,3, 4 X's a week and don't know the basics or have command of more than 4 positions and moves. No curriculum (spl) etc.. GREAT WORK ONCE AGAIN!
Great work man!

From the straight armlock, is it necessairy to put hands in armpits? Or just to hold him down?
