What ipod do u have for the video i have one the j link and the box i just need the right ipod like the generation is it 3rd gen and can it be a touch screen ipod?
My Jensen broke it won't get any cd's... Not even if I force them inn. All I use is the SD cards now. Do u know if there is any type of warranty with Jensen? I bought mine 3 years ago.
I just installed one but the clock keep adjusting back to the original time when it first turned on. Like when I adjust it from 9pm to 4pm, it will come back to 9pm again after 15seconds. Please I need help!!!!! please answer under this comment so I will receive it. Thanks.
god thing i hate bout it tho is tht its mounted on top u think its possible for it to mounted down 1 on the second slot so its ont in the way of the ac/heater?
I have the same car, and just bought the same Jensen. How hard was the install? If you could private message me and give me a small detaile description on how you installed it. Thanks man.
the head unit really doesn't make a difference... i could get a 500 dollar unit, but it won't make my speakers sound any better, that's why you get an ok deck (decent, but not dumb expensive) and get a nice 4 channel external amp, to clean up the signal, and the be able to adjust the right frequencies to the correct speakers, making them sound and last better, because they are actually playing what they are intended for! decks really don't make a difference...
dude its not gonna matter what amp you get if your speakers are stock i run alpine type r comps in my car sound clear, off my alpine cda-9886, no amplifier reqired, they'll run off 10rms and sound great too get crazy loud you need an amp, my stock ones sounded like shit its all too do with the speakers and a headunit makes all the difference lol
man, the speakers do matter. but, they would sound much clearer, you could optimize the signals they are getting (take out the way-low bass; leave that for the subs!). so, your speakers will last longer, because they're not trying to reproduce all of the frequencies, especially the ones they weren't designed to.
decks help, yes, but you can't fine-tune your sound, so you'll kill your speakers.
true but i just soldered 2 500PF (pyka farad) capacitors too my speakers inputs (i.e. bass blockers) and well now all i get is everything below 50hertz and nothing superly powerful =D little know fact bass blockers are little capacitors
the sound the speakers produce depend on an amp no amp no sound so even the preamp matter obviously ure right an aftermarket amp will be btr overall but the preamp is always a factor
pre-amp is only the audio signal, not powered. the amp takes it, separates all the frequencies, and distributes it to the correct channels, instead of sending the speakers all of the audio signal, leaving the speaker to try to reproduce everything. so, with an aftermarket amp, it can make a much clearer, better, more powerful tuned sound. so honestly, the power of the headunit has nothing to do with the pre-amp's signal.
i think we were both on the same page, just saying different things.
I doubt you will notice that big of a diff between 20w and the amp in a HU is not 45x4 RMS. Most headunits are peak rated, expect 15w RMS or so from them.
i think it's stupid when it blocks your heater controls, i would either make a new fiber glass center panel with relocated heater controls, but i got lucky with my car because the controls are on bottom ;)
yeah, it deff. can as long as you have the charger cable

evry head unit has an amp if one has 45x4 preamp it wnt sound as good as 65x4 preamp head units do make a diff
shtayve 2 years ago
the head units help, although you can get better tuning and much clearer music through a quality 4 channel amp.
the pre-amp thing on a head unit has nothing to do with it, it's a non-amplified signal... i don't really see where that makes a difference...
