This is one of the great playoff battles of all time.
The Knicks came into this series saying "We know the Bulls are more talented, but we are going to outwork them. In fact, we'll be the hardest working team you've ever seen."
The Bulls were both talented and hardworking. However, they didn't realize exactly how hard they would have to work until Game 7.
In this game, the Bulls showed the Knicks they could work just as hard, and that talent would win out.
I love the awesome move by Jordan at the end of this...and its been watched countless times the owner as its really worn out - like every kid watching it over and over again then running to the nearest hoop to try it themselves!
I am a Rockets fan - and LOVED it when we beat the Knicks back in the day. I love watching MJ and the Knicks, I really don't get excited when I see games today - lack of physicality, dilution of talent across the league, and ABC/ESPN presentation is AWFUL. I know LeBron, D Wade, Dwight, Carmelo are all talented but none are really exciting to watch. Guys in the 80s and early 90s had STYLE/PERSONALITY - Hakeem, Clyde, Barkley, MJ, Miller, the Knicks collectively - none of that exists today.
@JoCrane14 : if u say kobe its better than MJ then you dont know nothing about basketball,or u never lived michael era, PS, last night in game 7 between lakers and boston, the experts in the game talked about it and they said, not one can compare to michael but koby was just the closest one, thats it
kids today talk about how great kobe, lebron, and dwade are but I would like to see those guys play in the late 80s early 90s against a defense like the knicks or the pistons
@bnchmatt ok Kobe and Wade would do well, you act like Kobe is a wimp. This is a guy who played an entire post season with a broken finger and a bad knee, not to mention most of the regular season. Kobe would do fine, Wade as well, hes a tough SOB. LeBron would struggle. Remember when he was crying about that series with the Wizards? LOL, what a joke. And he was complaning about a hurt shoulder that was not even hurt last season? Yeah, he'd struggle.
@bnchmatt i agree, they all suck against my celtics with our defense except for wade, especially in the playoffs lebron and kobe get lockd up and look like scrubs against us, kobe cant get to the rim and lebron cant hit jumpshots (wade did light us up tho, i cant deny that unfortunately.... we still killed his onemanteam though easily just like we did to jordan in 86)
@bnchmatt i hate traditionalist that dont adjust to evolution and i hate a fresh breed who dont apprieciate the past. listen i PROMISE you bron and kobe wuld all dominate 80s and 90s the same way jordan would still shit on players today. kids talk about how great kobe, bron, and wade are BECAUSE THEY ARE! if there wasnt a limit on how much i could write id completely shit on ur point of view but for now all i'm gunna say is dont be dumb. basketball improves with time like everything else does
@badpdx everything i said is one hundred percent accurate. your a basketball fan, i'm an objective basketball fan. BIG difference. its the difference that has me coaching and you watching...true appreciation.
@DroppinKnowledge69: I was just playing with you. Lighten up. You don't have to pull the "I know more about basketball then you blah blah" card because A. I don't believe it B. I don't care if you do, and C. It's very tiresome and makes you look like a tool.
@AVPpianoman How would you even know? You weren't even alive when this guy dominated the league, LOL. Truth be told, after watching these games again, there isn't much separating Kobe from MJ.
@AVPpianoman And all of those games just so happen to be of MJ's best performances. You don't think that is that there is an inherent bias with that? What if we only showed Kobe's best performances? The guy did score 81 points in a game once. He'd easily look like the greatest of all time.
there's a lot of separation between Kobe and MJ... Kobe's not even in the same atmosphere... MJ was the king in a man's game back in the day where people fouled hard and played tough... Kobe's playing in an era where ticky tack fouls are called, padding his stats... MJ was the man, was the main focal point in his 6 titles... Kobe was the focal point in 2 finals... no comparison
i saw a Bulls game back in the old stadium. A rat ran across my feet. It smelled of urine. It appeared too small. People, as well as Johnny Red Kerr, smoked at intermission. There was a pole in my way.... But there was'nt a bad seat in the house, and yes, deafening loud.
I was at this game! so loud deafening! my dads friend won ONE ticket, he didnt want to go by himself so he gave it to my dad who gave it to me for bday. he drove me up to chitown..awesome memory
Charles Oakley was one bad mofo.

I so much prefer the old Chicago stadium over the united center.

Just watching this game proves that NBA today is not like it was in the 90's. Amazing defenses. Very brutal series.

That series is so physical...cant compare on today's NBA where referees are controlling the game as they quickly blow a whistle in slight contacts.
