Driving Miss Daisy is a beautiful movie. The part where the black maid died and I saw her funeral, it made me sobb alittle bit and I felt as if I was actually there because she was really a lovable character. The ending is also very beautiful.

I don't agree with the statements. This is not a racist film. It's a very complex film dealing with complex themes, but for anybody to be offended by it is absolutely ridiculous
His character was typical of the time. No, it wasn't a good time for blacks, but then again we can't deny it existed; that would be a lie. Yes, Hoke was humble and pliant, but he was also patient and compassionate towards a proud woman who was facing losing her independence. I can understand that watching the film would make you uncomfortable. But you should also understand that it was Hoke's kindness and humour that won Miss Daisy over. Also, there were moments when he did stand tall.
Miss Daisy is not mean, She just want to be independent, that's why she don't like Hoke. I saw the movie last night, it's impressing to see those two life's... very "unamerican"

This movie was filmed in Druid Hills, exactly where my great-grandmother lived when/where I first saw this movie. It was also filmed in Douglasville, where I live today. I love it. This is one of those movies that can teach people alot; everyone should watch it.
