By the way, I can't believe the words "what war" was actually said. Unless, of course, you're not really familiar with the X-Men universe. There is a war going on. A war between humans who want to subjugate mutants, and mutants who are tired of the bullshit and just want to be free. That's what Magneto is. A freedom fighter. He's even willing to die to protect his kind.

Just because Magneto's way is different from the X-Men doesn't mean that he's a villian.

Take MLKJ and Malcolm X for instance. They both had similar goals for a peaceful life of equality for african americans, yet had very different views and methods when it came to trying to achieve that goal. To hear you talk, we would be able to call one of them the "good guy" and the other a "terrorist".

Magneto doesn't think humans are "nothing". He perceives the ones that try to enslave and murder mutants a threat, and he's fighting back against those who do such things, which is usually someone in power. Magneto doesn't totally hate humans. In fact, he even carried on a romance with one once.

Nevertheless, there is a war going on. It's not really humans vs mutants as much as it is opressors vs opressed. He's willing to fight for freedom for mutants. What about that is hard to understand?

Magneto is no villian. Stan Lee said so himself. In fact, he even used words to describe Magneto like "noble" and "self-sacrificing". These are traits of a hero, not a villian.

If having a willingness to kill in order to protect those you care about makes you a villian, then mutants like Wolverine and Cyclops are just as villianous. Magneto's no villian. He's just a hero fighting on the other side. There's a big difference between being a villian and being an antagonist.

Just something I read in a magazine once after the supposed "death" of Magneto in Genosha. (Wolverine really hates that guy, lol) Stan stated that he never truly intended to create someone evil when he created Magneto, just someone tortured and conflicted.

Magneto's no villian. In fact, I don't really even think he's villian material. He tries too hard and sacrifices too much to try to do the right thing by his people.

I read many different comic books, watched the movies, watched all 3 of the different new cartoons as well. Also played many many games with their own unique story lines, some of which involved magneto.

If there is ever a threat to the world, Magneto is always there to help save it. if you'd like I could try to find some episode links...

Magneto does not 'want' a war. As Aragon said; "War is upon you, whether you would wish it or not." The humans are already at war with the mutants. Magneto realizes this, the X-men are in denial.

Magneto wants freedom for mutantkind. That's just as noble, if not more so, than wanting peace. And you seem not to understand (much like Xavier himself) that peace without freedom is false. A slave can live in peace with his master. So, as long as there's peace, is it okay for one to be enslaved?

As for Magneto "destroying buildings" and whatnot, should I go through the internet and my comic book collection and show you all the times Wolvering has attacked a government building and/or almost killed someone (or succeeded in killing someone). Or the many times Cyclops blew a hole through a brick wall of someone else's property while fighting off the polise/any govt. agent they're fighting against?

If you think is offensive that I compare him to Hilter, then look at Stalin, Mao, Lenin, and Napleopan .

Magneto's past served to teach him well of the possibilities of the future (which, as many episodes on television and in comics show, he was quite right about).

A person's past can make them a dark fighter for justics as well as a villian. You're quick to bring up the Hitler and the Joker, but what about Batman? He went through hell, and it made him dark and somewhat ruthless. He also breaks the law many MANY times in his pursuit of justice. And yet... he's a hero.

Yes, Magneto would kill. But he's not a mass murderer type of villian, someone who will kill just for the hell of it. And you're right, Batman would not kill anybody. But there are other examples of "dark heroes" who have killed people and would do it again if they found it necessary, or even if they're just pissed off enough.

I've been in love with Magneto for years, and not just because he's heart-achingly handsome (although it helps).

I truly empathise with him and his POV more than I do Xavier's. Heck, I'd probably be in the brotherhood if I was a mutant. Magneto's right. One must first fight for their freedom before they fight for peace. Because without freedom, any peace that exists is actually false.

I would be on magneto's side as well, but mostly because I have a similar personality as him.

A lot of times I wondered who'd side I would be on... But a few days ago I was watching Wolverine and the X-men, the episode where tanks are chasing down magma... I couldn't help but think, what if that was me? I would NOT put up with a bunch of jokers hunting me down with tanks just for being alive. I'd be like, Okay, you want some? Im gonna kill all ya'all.

I often wondered if Xavier could go through the same hell Eric did for years and still have the same POV he does. It's easy to preach about peace when you haven't been victimized by war all your damn life. Magneto has gone through the most unspeakable atrocities, and IMO, they actually made him wiser. If some fighting back isn't done, mutants are doomed.

I'm telling you, mutant or not, I'd prolly be on Eric's side.

In (as far as i know) every possible future we have seen, Sentinels take over the world, the human race is basically wiped out. And that's the direct cause of people like charles xavier stopping Magneto from doing what needs to be done to stop the inevitable slaughter of mutants.

Like he says over and over WE ARE AT WAR CHARLES. And Xavier pretends like they aren't. Which is why they lose.

Humans in that world would all willingly kill any mutant they come across. Any instance where a morloc or someone like nightcrawler walks around in public ANYWHERE among humans will prove this fact.
