@Darkapprentice71 If you keep your car in 3rd gear and dont touch the apex on the first part of the shicane then you will not spin. As soon as you touch that corner your out. Also going there in with 2nd gear puts me at risk all the time so i rather hit that corner in 3rd and then second one in 2nd gear if you feel it is necessary. Althouh my best time is only 1:21:068 so i might be wrong. Gearing is up to you really. (if your using a PC)
Hey nice driving but try to play more with the thorttle so you find traction faster. Giving a little thorttle in a corner makes you car have more traction so u can accelerate/full throttle earlier. Try to shift up the gears little earlier. And also play with the brake. Little braking and steering is possible so u can take the corners even faster.
Driving also with all assits off and lapping a 1:18:1xx
@Ultrajuiced you can try short shifting up a gear between curbs. I usually trail brake (apply a little brake as you get on the power) through there. It seems in your situation that 1/2 throttle is to much and the rear end gets light and steps out. Perhaps 1/4 throttle or wait to you clear the curb to add power? Hope that helps. Use all of P1, P2, P3 lol...
Great Lap! I tried for hours to get a 1:25:00 time in the qualifying with my Lotus in the first season.. I managed to get 13th in starting grid and was proud of it :D I don't know why but the AI seems to be very good on this track without any assists and the highest AI-difficulty.

i did read some comments, and i really dont know why people are all so against you HOT LAP, i think it so amazing and very good lap indeed, and i think that you change your gear just like Lewis Hamilton does.
@daffaras What are you takling about? There is no "Expert mode" in time trial. Even if there was, why the fuck would I care? And you seriously think that gear Y should always be used in turn X? Jeez, people should have to pass an IQ test before they were allowed to comment on Youtube videos. It would cut the amount of comments down to about a fifth.
@isoSkroting indeed, you just drive as you want to. You just try to drive as fast as possible and it doesn't matter in wich gear you take a corner. As you see, this was a very fast lap.
@daffaras you DONT HAVE A CLUE HOW TO PLAY... if you take turn 1 in second gear you are going ridiculously slow and through 3 you can hit six easily before you even exit the corner... and if you think im wrong type in a lap with mark webber catalunya, I dont think you can argue with the expert.
If that was in time trial you can forgetaboutthe no assist parts... in carrer a time like that is almost inpossible and in the first corner you start braking at 50m... seriouslly...
@WisPT Not sure if I understand if that was a question or not, but yes this was time trial. Yes, it's without assists. Yes, I know the car handles much better in TT. And no, I don't brake at the 50 meter sign. The audio is delayed, so it just sounds like I brake that late.
@jimbober0 I did brake late, no doubt about that, but not THAT late. For your sake, I analyzed the clip. As I pass the 150-meter sign, my speed is 312 kph, and it takes 7 frames to reach the 100-meter sign and the speed is virtually the same (313 kph). Two frames after this, my car has begun to slow down. So if 7 frames is 50m, then two frames is max 14.3m. In other words, my car slows down around 85 meters before the corner. Take account for input lag, and I start to brake before 100m.
@isoSkroting ok, but input lag has nothing to with it... its when the car starts to brake not you, but fair enough i was wrong... im impressed that you went in to such deep analysis though!
@jimbober0 I'll still argue for the element of input lag. If you are used to slam down the brakes at the 100-meter sign, you don't give any thought to the fact that the car doesn't start to decelerate until 15 meters later. So when you see a video where I brake 15 meters later (which appears even later because of the audio sync), then it gives you a false impression of braking later when we are in fact getting on the brakes at the same place.
@isoSkroting that is a very interesting angle, and you're right... I watched a replay of a lap i did round catalunya and you are spot on in that we brake at the same spot but when you are playing you dont realise that it takes that tiny amount of time for the car to react
Downshifting like that would destroy your engine in a matter of laps. And in alot of corners you take an illegal amount of curb. I saw at least 2 instances where you had all 4 wheels beyond the white lines.
@SiggsGBR That's like commenting on a video from a shooting game and saying that if you get shot just once then you would be in excruciating pain and wouldn't be able to continue moving around with ease. Just because it would happen in real life doesn't mean that you stop playing when it happens in the game. When you're playing a game you act in accordance with the rules and possibilities within that game. Not real life.
@isoSkroting Some shooters are like that, insurgency and flashpoint. And I just prefer to have the experience as realistic as possible, so where there's the possibility, I go with the rules irl. Simple as. :)
@SiggsGBR I like my waffles in a certain manner, but I don't criticise those who perfer them in a different way. If you want to gimp yourself by driving as if the rules were more strict than they are, then fine, go ahead and do so but don't be a fool and expect others to do the same.
@isoSkroting Wow, there was me trying to put in a polite post, and you had to lower the tone... In my first post, I wasn't saying you should follow my rules, I was just pointing things out...and in my second post, I specifically said "I prefer". Also, I'm not driving stricter than the rules are, because, like I said, I try to abide as close to a real F1 experience as I can. What I said at first is still true.
can u post ur setup, i drive a better "line" but i think the setup is so bad, i have times like 1:26, this is the best, everything off and gears manual
@RanoNL Do you use automatic transmission? If you do, try to use manual instead. This game allows you to downshift very quickly so I use the high revs to slow my car down more quickly. You'll notice in the first corner that I change down to 3rd and immediately up to 4th. This is done deliberately to brake faster. That being said, this lap is about two seconds off the WR pace, so I need more practise.
where is the setup the link cannot be found

@Ultrajuiced
try raising your ride height up a little more, it may help you be able to attack the curbs better without spinning as much.

cars are somewhat quicker in time trial, i cut 4 seconds off my laptime in time trial on the limit in both laps with all assists off.

Can you give me an advise for the last chicane, please?
I always spin there. :(
I have to drive over the 1st curb without any throttle and over the 2nd with half throttle, right?

@jimmygo331 The engine can't blow. I suppose you can wear it out in the career, but in time trial you can't even suffer a puncture - to my knowledge.
