  • Grab the audio from this vid at searchripgrab doht cohm.

  • Hey Cat 649 hasn't kicked in yet but when it does it will be well worth the price to sit at the kitchen table and have a few beers or ?.. and set up some lessons.........impeccable.....can't wait to watch how you do "inspite of ourslves".

  • There's a six-drink minimum at my establishment, strictly enforced.

My 649 success is mirroring yours at this point.

  • Excellent!!! I am loving it :O)

  • Excellent. Another classic Prine done superbly.

  • AH HECK, you done did this one justice my friend.

Loved this one and love all fo your renditions of John Prine and others.

  • Aw Heck, what a great Prine cover! Another fine job, really enjoyed it!

    Rob

    Kevin

  • Fantastic cover of this great John Prine song!

  • As you know Prine is one of my favorites & man alive I'm sure glad you keep his tunes comin'!

  • Now that's nice. John Prine really has a warm, bluegrass-type feel. You do him sweet jusitce. 5 stars!

  • Perfect no one does John better than you my friend

    Love it

  • Many thanks, Dan.

  • Great song and cover! Bruised Orange has some great songs on it. It was the last one I had before I kind of lost track of his stuff until his compilation CD's came out.

  • His compilation stuff- Antholgy, the live albums and "Souvenirs" offer some great stuff and alternate versions in the latter two cases.

His current CD, "Fair & Square," is a great place to catch up with John Prine if he's fallen off your radar for a while. A nice mix of insightful, sad and funny songs that offers great enjoyment and even familiarity on the first listen- just like Bruised Orange did.

  • Thanks, I'll have to check it out. Don't have the money for CD's these days, but I'll see if Pandora radio will play some of the selections for me. It's weird cause I was listening to John Prine back in '75, and the guy is still writing great stuff all these years later.

  • That is a KIND of sweet song... I'm not sure about that electric-chair-lap-sitting bit though... Anyway, you sing it sweetly.

  • Thanks, Karen! It's a love song with more than its fair share of hyperbole.

But unlike some of the "serious" 70s and 80s hyperbole-filled, syrupy pop love song performers I can think of, John knew he was sounding silly.

  • Funny song, but that's nothing unusual with Prine....Have you ever tried Jesus the missing years?

  • Thanks for the suggestion. That's yet another John Prine song I must get around to learning.
