Yams are preety good man, its very common here in Brazil, its very tasty when you make it with a soup thing with meat....hmmm its already making me hungry.
Wow she has a lot of energy and enthusiasm for her field of study :)
I'm a bit nerdy and i get a nerd crush at this cool interesting intelligent woman <3
"Horn of Africa" women are often very smart and good looking.
I don't think I've ever had anything with yam, and don't know how to find it in Sweden. Maybe they have it in some special african food store in Stockholm
Sweet potato is available in high end grocery stores here but it's not the same.
@evilmindedsquirrel Indeed, its amazing how confused people get about the two species. I've grown both of them this year. The sweet potato was in the greenhouse, but I grow the Japanese yam (Dioscorea opposita) which can be grown outside here in the UK.
It is unfortunate that she has to go to UK in order to do science. It should have been possible for her to do science in her own hometown just as easily.
@12Edix21 Internet can not fix years of schools that do not know how to teach us. This is why the UK population consists of idiots and drunks. Im the only person in my school getting a decent grade these days. And yet its award winning on the SQA.. fucking scotland...
Maybe your school isn't that good but most of the schools are good.
And yes the internet can teach you everything that you study in school, The internet is like school only you choose when to study and what to study :).
im not telling you to go and study right now im just suggesting it to you.
@12Edix21 My school has the SQA's current top rate for Scotland. IM saying that the UK as a whole is not able suffice the information to teach us. I mean I was 12 before I was told the speed of light, V=D/T all the basic physics, which is a disgrace, it should fit somewhere around 10 year olds. They limit our learning to the general and rarely ever try to pass individuals like me past the norm... I have topped ALL my subjects, and never got any recognition for my learning.
@12Edix21 Because they still lack the complexity of the human mind that a tutor can give. Opinions and noticed corrections are what make teachers... in one way useful at least. I have already studied my chemistry, physics and I'm taking advanced lessons in maths, but it still doesn't fix the fact that every god-damn child is uneducated. we should be having higher work for 3rd years like myself. but we are all held back in our years by a system that says the poorly functioning students stay.

For information purposes:
A 'Yam' is not a 'Sweet potato'
Sweet potato is Ipomoea batatas and originally from central/south America. The African Yam is genus Dioscorea (family Dioscoreaceae).
They are not related.

@12Edix21 Primary schools are the worst, no one leaves with a decent grade. then they cram it into the 7 years of high-school we have.
