  • Yum :-)

  • She is so awesome :D

  • Yams are preety good man, its very common here in Brazil, its very tasty when you make it with a soup thing with meat....hmmm its already making me hungry.

  • my english isnt too good, i didnt understand her

  • Aren't these actually sweet potatoes......

  • These food videos are great! I'm a student of food processing science and this way I always get to know something new. Keep up the good work!

  • Yammy Yammy ;-)

  • Wow she has a lot of energy and enthusiasm for her field of study :)

I'm a bit nerdy and i get a nerd crush at this cool interesting intelligent woman <3

"Horn of Africa" women are often very smart and good looking.

I don't think I've ever had anything with yam, and don't know how to find it in Sweden. Maybe they have it in some special african food store in Stockholm

Sweet potato is available in high end grocery stores here but it's not the same.

  • How long do the tissue cultures last in those jars?

  • I approve of the way she yammers on in this video. ;-)

  • Great! Can you plant Yam in Europe? Is the vegetation period long enough for Yam to develop?

  • best channel ever

  • What is the Yam she likes?!

    I must know!

  • Major yam yams.

  • Very good English but that accent is very thick. Seems like a fast learner.

  • This is making me hungry.

  • Yay, 1080p finally! Is it interlaced? It looks interlaced.

  • i love how passionate she is!!!!!

  • For information purposes:

A 'Yam' is not a 'Sweet potato'

Sweet potato is Ipomoea batatas and originally from central/south America. The African Yam is genus Dioscorea (family Dioscoreaceae).

    They are not related.

  • @evilmindedsquirrel Indeed, its amazing how confused people get about the two species. I've grown both of them this year. The sweet potato was in the greenhouse, but I grow the Japanese yam (Dioscorea opposita) which can be grown outside here in the UK.

  • 1:19 I love her way of emphasizing the word "potato" <3

  • I want some sweet potatoes.

  • Love her accent :)

Researching different crops is important, and she makes one of the arguments; climate change.

  • i want mashed yams and marshmallows now

  • @killernat You're confusing yams and sweet potatoes.

  • @odysseus9672 no im not i have done it with yams as well

  • I like these videos :) they're interesting

  • @DannyC440 glad you're enjoying them

  • We love foodskey. More videos about this research discipline would be great. Keep up your great work.

  • @Somerco thank you

  • They probably taste a bit like potato? Can't be too far wrong can I?

  • I just want to eat it now

  • Always loves the word yam

    great video very interesting

  • Monsanto ?

  • Very interesting.

  • Just occured to me that I've never tried yams, she has a point!

  • i love how she says potato... thumbs up if you agree

  • It is unfortunate that she has to go to UK in order to do science. It should have been possible for her to do science in her own hometown just as easily.

  • The Yam Lab, it's a bit like the Bat Cave but brighter :)

  • first

  • Did anyone touch you're yams?

    Hurrrr durrrr!

  • @SilaconYT You should learn when to use your and you're

  • @12Edix21 No-one taught me grammar till i was 12. i has excuse :3... schools... useful as they are, there bad at there job.

  • @SilaconYT What? if you're saying that school sucks then use the internet its full of knowledge that no one else had before you :).

google "Whats the difference between your and you're" im sure you will find an answer

  • @12Edix21 Internet can not fix years of schools that do not know how to teach us. This is why the UK population consists of idiots and drunks. Im the only person in my school getting a decent grade these days. And yet its award winning on the SQA.. fucking scotland...

  • @SilaconYT You are very wrong.

Maybe your school isn't that good but most of the schools are good.

And yes the internet can teach you everything that you study in school, The internet is like school only you choose when to study and what to study :).

im not telling you to go and study right now im just suggesting it to you.

  • @12Edix21 My school has the SQA's current top rate for Scotland. IM saying that the UK as a whole is not able suffice the information to teach us. I mean I was 12 before I was told the speed of light, V=D/T all the basic physics, which is a disgrace, it should fit somewhere around 10 year olds. They limit our learning to the general and rarely ever try to pass individuals like me past the norm... I have topped ALL my subjects, and never got any recognition for my learning.

  • @12Edix21 Primary schools are the worst, no one leaves with a decent grade. then they cram it into the 7 years of high-school we have.

  • @SilaconYT How about you be different and study some things from the internet and get succeeded in life

  • @12Edix21 Because they still lack the complexity of the human mind that a tutor can give. Opinions and noticed corrections are what make teachers... in one way useful at least. I have already studied my chemistry, physics and I'm taking advanced lessons in maths, but it still doesn't fix the fact that every god-damn child is uneducated. we should be having higher work for 3rd years like myself. but we are all held back in our years by a system that says the poorly functioning students stay.

  • I don't like science particularly but these videos are great and addictive
