  • WEST.

  • sounds like my last legacy, ej18 carb fwd, painted matt black with the 14mm muffler bolts undone and pulled muffler pulled forward on its hangers, that thing was awesome, 230xxxkms and still goin hard

  • Good Sound!!

  • Amc eagles, easy to mod for 4x4 if youre into that kinda stuff(jeep drivetrain in car form)Hard to find but some usally not too expensive.

  • should be buying a leone wagon soon, anybody know any aftermarket exhausts that will fit?? and arnt too expensive lol. only 16...so im on a tight budget.

  • Not many choices, theres some borla headers for these,i do think they are quite rare though, you're best bet is to go down to the nearest muffler shop and tell him to put 2.25" in exhuast no muffler.

  • ah cheers man...didnt get the wagon. massively underpowered lol. any other recommendations for cars that are cheap and easy to mod. and cheap in general?? NO HONDAS lol thanks again

  • looks like a beautiful place..all that tropical oxygen even makes ae86 a legend. of course the leone EA82 is famous all over the world, no matter where it is. Not many shmucks realize thier puny ej thoughts.. I wouldn't even swap the engine. EA82 forever..and I mean it. No power? make some.

  • Its NOT an EA82... it is an EA71 (non-turbo, Carby'd and single cam with pushrods) with a whole 60HP at the flywheel... Due to the weight of the wagon it makes it incredibly underpowered.

  • my EA82 is gonna leave soon for a EJ22. the american EA82 has no get up and go what so ever... =[

  • I imagine your Injected OHC EA82 would have alot more go than my Carbyd Pushrod EA71. Im thinking of pulling that out and droping in a 280HP EJ20 WRX STI motor, I would also be going 4WD if I did that, Im currently only FWD

  • I forgot : we had central locking doors, power windows and mirrors and metallic grey paint. I really miss that car... Died almost cut in two parts by the rust, with a 20cm hole in the back fender, and only 95'000 miles on it... what a shame and a waste... But one day I'm gonna get one againe

  • AWESOME SOUND !!! These old subs are my favorites, my dad had an '86 Superstation (you know, with the roof a bit higher from the rear seats to the end) it was a 1.8l GL carb (1 or 2 dont remember) with a tach, the clock, 5 speed, 2 or 4WD with long and short ratio in 4WD, it didn't have the AirCo, neither the air suspensions, which could make the body go up and down... There was a optional digital dash that we didn't have. It was a rusty awesome car that was doing 100mph average on the highway

  • I agree with you I've got two old subies and their engines are in really good conditions they don't have too much kilometers

but I prefer the Loyale and the leone both with their old boxer engines .... btw the sound is nice don't you think?

  • I DO I DO ! :D The Superstation actually is a Loyale with a higher top.

  • you are right you should upload a vid if you can only, I think I will .... few days more so I will tell you see you !

  • te71se is an idiot. Its a Subaru Leone not a Subaru Impreza WRX. The EA82 1.8 Flat 4 from the Leone sounds sweet. So the last guy is full of shit. Hey thats the Subaru Leone DL model? I can tell from the dash. Ive got a Subaru Leone GL, fantastic car. Put a POD airfilter on it. It makes the car more responsive and plus it sounds awesome. I should post some of my videos.

  • Actually its the EA71 Motor... 1.6L, Pushrods,

Carby, with dizzy and points ignition. Its the very base model being a 1992 mine didnt get labled as GL or DL... But mine is the very base model... Front Wheel Drive, No Power Steering, not even a clock on the dash... but you can see the hole for it... But it did get Air-Con :D

  • Noticed the engine sounds a bit different to mine. My Leone has the EA82engine, 1.8 liter multi point fuel injection SOHC. 72kW@5600rpm with 140Nm@rpm. Prob a lil bit more, running on 98RON. Its a 1989 LeoneGL model. Mid range. Its got power steering, electric windows/mirrors, digital clock, tachometer and its FWD. What it does'nt have is AC. Factory extra, the 1st buyer didnt choose. Which is BS for 5 months of the year. The 3rdGen Leone models, DLbase, GLmid, GL10Luxury and the RXturbo.

  • Didnt know the EA71 engine was still on the market in 1992. You know the output on the engine? Looks like that vid is in NZ. If it is the model line is slightly different to the AU market. I think that 1.6 engine was used in some first gen Impreza's in the following years after, but it was fuel injected.

  • I missed a bit of info on my engine output. EA82 engine, 72kW @5600rpm with 140Nm@3200rpm. Solid power band thats why the old Subi's go which such a small amount of power.

  • EA71 = 68HP@4800RPM, Yeh... Its in NZ... But my Leone is a Japanese Import, built and driven in Japan in 1992, didnt arrive here untill 1994

  • worst sounding WRX I've ever heard...

  • Sounds better than it used to though. The mic on the phone we were using didnt do it any favours though
