  • Alright people look at it this way: a well-equipped 8th gen Civic ran for around $18k new. The turbo kit is $3200. Si ran for $21k, same as R18 + turbo, but makes FAR less torque & a little less hp. Spend the same amount of $ on the Si in bolt-ons as you do for the R18 in suspension mods & you'll probably have two pretty evenly matched cars with the R18 coming out a little ahead with the torque.

  • 1:22 - My car completes the same pick up. non-turbo. HP = 175 But I have numerous upgrades. 1. Weapon R Intake Manifold = $500 2. Weapon R Secret Weapon Intake = $192 3. Skunk2 MegaPower Exhaust System = $474 4. Weapon R R18 Race Header = $294. 5. Mishimoto Aluminum Racing Radiator = $240 6. Eibach Sport-Plus Suspension Kit (Anti-Roll Back & Front) = $469 7. Labor for everything $1,000 8. Total = $3,463 Should I still spend Over $3K more on a turbo? Doesn't look too promising in this video.
  • sorry but its slow for a turbo

  • He wasn't trying to show off the turbo, he was trying to get the fuck away from the gunshots and the cops!

  • PUT YOUR SEATBELT ON! i hate that honda beep beep beep

  • PUT YOUR SEATBELT ON! i hate that honda beep beep beep

  • is you turbo a SOHC over a DOHC you get more power using the SOHC! plus the r18 is a little lighter aswell

  • so much power is he pushing in this video? tuned?

  • 240p???? booooooo 720pHD please! =)

  • The Bore and Stroke of the R18a is identical to the GSR and ITR B18, has built in oil squirter's for each cylinder which is good to keep the pistons lubed under pressure, and the pistons are heat treated, and cylinder walls are lined with moly-sulfide, which keeps the friction down, they use this techqnique in the type r, and the design of the manifold is better for recirculation gasses back into the turbo for boost, this motor was designed for turbo basically, honda knew what they were doing.

  • what exhaust did u use????

  • man I duno If I wanna put this on my Civic, still looks slow but then again, this is without any other engine modifications...

    hmmm...decisions, decisions...

  • Were those gunshots at 0:47???

  • @elchicomalo1313 Probably cuz you can hear the sirens right after...

  • Big deal, a bunch of fast drive-bys and a loud muffler. And that crackling sound it makes is horrible.

  • nicceeeee

  • how much boost are you running on and did you modify anythign else

  • @slick88zx, dropping 40 pounds off the car with the smaller rims isnt gonna give you serious performance. its only 40 pounds. and the si's have all the same frame and body as the fg1's. so weight reduction isnt needed. so itd be better and easier just to build the motor. not that you need absolutly every part i mentioned

  • @slick88zx, no, you really dont. i could go out right now and buy higher compression pistons, connecting rods, a better crank, better cam gears and shafts, throttle body, intake, header, muffler, exhaust piping, and blow away an Si. it could beat it by at least 5 or 6 lengths.

  • @8thcivicownr That's alot of parts, I think you could do it with less. I have an 07 LX couple 5-speed and I think the biggest problem we have is weight. Our wheels (LX and EX) weigh in at 20 pounds for 16's. Drop down to DX sized wheels, forged aluminum 15x6.5 at 10 pounds and that should add some serious performance. Then add some of the bolt-ons you mentioned and multiply the effect. Maybe some lighter seats as well and I guarentee you can whip an Si, especially off the start.

  • @popniggers, you can't use this kit on the Si, its only made for the lx, ex, and dx models, hence the name R18 turbo (R18 is the motor these models have). The Si has a K20z3 motor, therefore this kit wont fit it

  • still slow

  • r18 all day fuck the k20

  • Sounds like you have some compressor surge

  • i saw this on the pro civic.com site, it seems weak on the ex, anyone know if its good on the Si?

  • If you were to spend the money to turbo the r18 civic, why wouldnt you just spend a little bit of extra money and get the k20 civic si..

  • @myshadowz205 why is it weak?? why? he's being different... instead of using the si... he went with the r18 as his baseline... originality brother.. its what you can do with what you got

  • @myshadowz205

You're one stupid fuck aren't you...

  • nice one man ;) keep going your work XD

  • what type of exhaust is that? that was decent man I diggs, lol the laugh at the end was funny

  • @papanicko a mild turbo like this won't do anything to your car or tranny, feel free to do the mod. seriously there won't be any problems at all. but if your going to manually shift an auto make sure you match the gears at high revs as to not 'clunk' it into the next gear. manual is fun but you can make an auto tranny shift much much faster than a manual, and don't let anyone tell you other wise. plus no clutch discs to burn. i drive both and both have their benefits.

  • @peWpfLewts

No disks to burn just clutch packs

  • nice man. you can drive it quiet around the popo or in your neighborhood, but when you want to, its nice and throaty. my car is the same way, its the only reason ive not bought a new higher flow exhaust. saves you alot of heat from the cops.

  • I was going to buy this... but then I heard that laugh.

  • That laugh was fucking funny, LMAO!

  • put your seatbelt on!!!

  • that shit looks fucking cool, i own a 07 R18 ex civic and im buying this next year when i get my taxs refund, shit still looks like it blow a SI away, im feeling this kit, but dude that giggle laugh was kinda gay my nigg,.

  • yeahh for the full kit it is pretty sick; only thing i would change is the bov; too soft for me lol

  • @killaNOtownGz, you dont really need a turbo kit to blow away an Si, My R18 is stock for now and i raced a stock si from about a 20 roll and it was pretty even. he pulled harder in the end but i was only back about half a length,

  • @8thcivicownr To "blow away" an Si you do. To just beat a stock one, a naturally aspirated R18 is more than capable of doing that with a few bolt-ons and some lightening up of the car.

  • what's the 1/4 mile time with this kit?

  • Fruity cackle @ 2:16.

  • @Snoman007 more like popcorn

  • how much do u think installation would cost

  • 220 hp

  • yo si te gsno

  • is it just me or does this feel slow since its turbo'd?

  • what did u put on ur xhaust manifold ? a cover

ohhh yeah u need dont forget to replace ur ecu

  • dont need to change or replace anything inside of the engines because this exact turbo kit is supposed to work with all factory engine internals and settings

  • How much hp?

  • HOLY SHIT THIS IS SLOW!! my Lude pre boost would eat this easy

  • no shit sherlock.

    Its a 1.8L

    Not a 2.4L

  • Whats the Green Light flashing on the Dash?

  • It's called a turn signal. lmao

  • Comment removed

  • ROFL!!! I had to Look back at it again. It is the Turn Signal.

    Epic Fail there

  • its called the extreme green turbo flasher (when this lights up that means you are faster than the speed of light)

  • nice faggot laugh lol the guy is a joker

  • nice faggot laugh at 2:15

  • yo my bro has this kit on his em2= 02 ex and the kit is pretty good, he has about 200whp and about 160-170lbs. i have a 93 hb civic type r doing 185whp and he won by alittle bit half a car be i have ac/ps in my car. still not bad for a sohc 1.7l turboed not asuper car but much faster that a stock sohc d17.

  • Question... Don't know much about cars and such, but I have a 2008 Honda Civic LX Coupe. It's automatic transmission and my question is, what are the cons to modifying a car with automatic transmission, compared to a car with manual?

  • it will tear up an automatic transmission if you turbo it, stick to natural aspiration

  • man we need some real vids with the turbo'd r18's, ya'll aint putting up no real vids. I need to go on and get this turbo kit, just gonn ahave issues with the polizei out hea. but fuck it,, need to give the fans some more excitement. We'll see

  • My car is making 198whp and 196lbs of torque at 9psi on this turbo kit, with no issues..

For the price this kit is worth it..

  • weak :S

  • that's not too bad, exhaust note is cool too.

  • is that A/T?

  • does too seem quicker than a stock si its jumping like 5 mph even when its up in the 80's idk any stock si that can do that

  • It is quicker than an Si even with bolt-ons. watch my videos on here, i can keep up with one with I/E/H and beat Si with intakes all day and that was on my old tune making 180whp and 185lbs of torque, now am making 190whp. so it will be worts.

  • doesn't seem quicker than a stock Si...could be wrong though

  • put some gas in it you dumbass

  • lmao

  • weak

  • how much would it cost to get it installed?

  • so can you put this in a sedan, or is it only for the coupe

  • It will fit a sedan!

  • o ok, y the !

  • do you have to tweak the greddy emanage everyday because of temperature/humidity and other environmental factors? i live in FL so the weather is constantly changing... and regarding what arman757 said about the z6 swap, you gotta do a lotta work to keep up wit me homie, i've beaten 2 2000 SIs, 2 04-05 SIs, and some old POS crx si... countless 4cyl tibbys, teggys, and ur old ass hatchy. don't sleep on me dawg.

  • o shit no prob bro id walk u now. now im drivin a 94 hatch b18b1, si tranny, not sayin whats done to the motor. please dont try to argue cuz itd just be foolish, ur talkin about a car lighter than urs pushin almost as much hp without the boost lag, an im pretty sure u got a tranny with some ole granny as grocery getter gearing

  • So your not going to tell people who have no idea who you are what you have done to your motor? Grow up, kid. This isn't the Fast and the Furious.

  • yup arman757 going to end up like that hogan kid who "thought" he was a pro and stuck his friend in a coma. really professional.

  • NICE! I think I'm gonna get one. Comparing an SI to another Civic is comparing 2 different cars. They're different in class and don't forget that the EX, DX, and LX are a 1.8 engine while the SI is a 2.0, bigger engine = maybe more horsepower??? the R design is really unique, most people gotta do their research on cars before they talk a lot... the R is great in its class.

  • the R18 is not bad

    check my profile

  • lol r engines arent garbage i took out alot of cars with mines lets see 2.3 accord 1.6 crx zc with headers 2.0 prelude with with h/e/i f-150! lol i wont forget that one =]] and more the only cars that got me were the g35 4 door lol i just felt cocky lol
  • yeah, does that car have like 75 hp?

  • Are you guys blind? this guy is not even steping on the gas all the way, see where the video is recored, its only about 1/8 of a mile.

BTW this car is pushing around 200whp and 200lbs of torque on 6psi, the R egnine is a great engine, stop talking shit if you don't know anything about it.

I will post some videos of my ride as soon as i get my turbo install.

  • i aint talkin shit but honestly im pretty sure my 94 coupe with just an n/a z6 swap and dc sports 4-1's is quicker than that. those r series engines are straight garbage

  • the R engine is terrible

  • how much hp?

  • 213.4 WHP.

  • I oder my turbo kit from them already, once is isntall i will post videos of it racing civic Si's and Mustangs gts at the track! so stay tune..

  • Damn I shouldn't have turned it down

  • Exhaust is the only thing I don't like. Pretty fast though.

  • deffinetly lot fater

  • faster*

  • if u want the bov louder u just gotta change it?

  • What kind of exhaust is on it?

  • Enjoy the video guys!

  • i would like to see the video of this kit on 06-07 si
