I don't know what the hell Obama is thinking going into Afghanistan. I mostly support him, but his actions in Afghanistan trouble me. I really hope he's not just another warlord like Bush and Clinton were, but I dunno.
Don't expect miracles in a few months. We have 20+ years of damage control. There are still many roadblocks for a president..and the main problem, that's keeping him from doing what he was put into office to do, are a few 'republitards' in the Senate and on Comittees.
War against Iraq in 2003 was one of the worst military campaigns in US history
THE WAR AGAINST THE TALIBAN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT WAR THE WEST HAS FACED FOR DECADES. IN FACT IF THE NEOCONS HADN'T TRIED TO LINK IRAQ TO AL QAEDA, THE WAR WOULD ALREADY BE OVER.

I am anti-war. But when I see the school girls who have acid thrown in their faces and school being blown up..I think perhaps it is a good idea to try to stop these militants that are in power there. I hope we can. I think it will be tough.
Are you really anti-war? It seems you are suggesting we continue waging war.
It is ignorance and poverty that perpetuate the abuses against women. Education and charity would go much further than bombs in winning hearts and minds. We are only giving people reasons to hate us when we destroy their communities and kill their brothers. What if we had taken all the money we spent on destruction and used it to improve the people's lives? That is the way anti-war activists think.
I don't know. I have many Muslim friends who are first gen immigrants, who go back to visit the Middle East, and whose hearts are there. They feel the same way as I do in some ways, that these radicals must be stopped and sometimes, as in the case of Nazi Germany fighting is the only way to stop them. But I see what you are saying too. It seems this is a channel where discussion is not very welcome.
you have to realize that the US gov (not saying the people supported it) has practiced terorism on the most horrible of levels for decades now, Burma - Philipines - Korea - Vietnam - so so many gov toppled so many civilians killed in the process and above all they used torture, torture is defined as a means of inducing such terror to ensure truthfull answers = terrorism, want to goto war then kill a politician in your own country they are the worlds most evil threat for sure
I am aware of those occurrences of terrorism by the US Govt as well as sanctioned instances by US companies- ie Shell in Nigeria, etc and whether we supported it or not we are responsible if we are citizens and paid taxes.
I can see where you are coming from but in my opinion the people have to be in control of the gov to be bale to be held accountable for its actions, so no i dont think that the american people are responsible in any way for they have no control over their gov or their actions
PS Shell is owned by Queen beatrix of the netherlands but is closely tied to US oil for sure
