  • What's the effect on Georgia On My Mind?

  • @bassplayer94can

I believe she's just using a bit of reverb and some piezo pickup mixed in with magnetic.

  • @TravisLarsonBand thanks

  • Really nice bass playing , I love the Markbass tone too ..

  • Awesome how what were once considered flashy/solo techniques have become part of the general musical vocabulary of players like Jennifer allowing her to play truly musical BASS GUITAR parts that fit and work 'hand in glove' with the other musicians she's playing with, lines that would not have been possible to conceive using just the old straight finger style that harps back to before electric bass guitars were invented.

  • Mark Bass is too Expensive, I prefer Ampeg

  • carol kaye for ever

  • fuck mark bass, listen to her solo at the end, its beautiful! so melodic aswell. thats mega guitar and bass interaction at the beginning there too

  • Yow!!!!! meedily meedily meedily meedly meeeeeeeeeee!

  • Her left hand position is really weird and how she uses her thumb isn't really a good technique.

  • just wish the music at the beginning would showcase the bass! you can hardly hear it..

  • show us your $^$s

  • That's a bass idiot

  • she's a guitarist

  • I agree. Playing a guitar in a bass... Good technique, in wrong instrument.

  • That's correct - a bass guitarist to be more specific!

  • She can strum my instrument any time

  • Wow! she can play>

  • why is she playing with tapping in the groove rock tune? you could do that without using it lol!

  • sounds like a gameboy that dsp sucks bigtime

  • @Thisdude12

If she can play what she needs to without using her pinky then she's doing just fine. She sounds damn good to me.

  • she should play a guitar, most of these pro's should. I'm just saying

  • cool

  • and u actually know what you're talking about unlike other women

  • you're god great playing

  • mark bass, sooooooooo EXPENSIVE!!!!! c'mon 1270 bucks for a little cabinet with ONE SINGLE 12" speaker?

  • @MiNdLeSs1234567890 Their most expensive cab is 1600 and its an 810. The only other cab they sell at GC for over a grand is a 610. Their heads start at about $450. I don't understand why everyone is complaining about their prices when they are pretty middle of the pack. Check out EBS, Aguilar, Bergantino and a few more if you think Markbass is expensive.

  • @MiNdLeSs1234567890 It IS alot of money, but if you consider the quality of it is worth the money. Those combo's are also very lightweight, which makes them pricey.

  • You Rock Jennifer. Be seeing you soon at a TLB gig or around the county.

  • not all ppl have the same pinky. if you would break your pinky, i doubt if you would be able to play bass with it. i agree that her technique is not the best, but meanwhile she has an endorsement and you dont ;D there are 1000 bassists better than her, but maybe she has good connections ;]

  • jesus. time for me to quit bass.

  • @giggs102 No..never!! :) Keep at it!

  • You need flatwounds...that round screech ruins true bass.

  • @inthe7thhouse Hardly ruins true bass lol But you do realise flatwounds have a really specific sound that removes all the little nuiances which is exactly what people love about roundwounds. I'm fascinated with trying some flats though, but as a professional freelancer, it wont be versatile enough to use solely.

  • nice playing!

  • no use of the left pinky? her life would be so much easier...

  • @leokasper7107 i noticed girls never fucking use their pinky.....wtf why!?

  • She should use her left pinky more when fretting.

  • @Thisdude12 Right, because she has such bad technique. *eye roll*

  • @Thisdude12 shes famous for a reason dude stfu

  • @Thisdude12

Really? Close your eyes. Sounds like she's playing just fine to me...

  • @christocr In Thisdude12's defense, yes she has learned to play great without using her pinky, but someone just getting started shouldn't try and emulate her technique, because it would hinder their learning of the instrument.

  • I love you.

  • what was that song she was playing at the end of the video?

  • @topdog2328

    Georgia On My Mind... :-)

  • @TravisLarsonBand thank you :)

  • @extremeguitarshredr people can play songs they compose however they want

  • =( ive always wanted the blue dawn

  • you're an amazing bassist Ms. Young you rock.

  • awesome Jennifer !!! thanks ! kiss :) !!!

  • Jeeez...Jennifer, you are so damn good. I try to close my eyes sometimes when I listen toTLB... but if I'm on YouTube, I can't help but watch too.

You are simply the most perfect candidate for bass players to watch out for (both men and women), because you're a team player and it really shows up in the end result. It doesn't hurt that you have an infectious smile and demeanor.

    Kudos to you!

  • this is the kind of girl you make waffles for!

  • cool playing & gear Jennifer!!!.....cheers!

  • Amazing bass player indeed!

  • Hell Yeah Jennifer!!! a fan of yours always. -CW

  • That's so awesome... BTW you look beautiful, Jen (haven't seen you guys in a while) and I'm so happy for your success. It's a long way from Baywood Video.

  • YEAH Jen! Rock on!

  • So impressed and inspired every time I hear Jennifer play! The whole Travis Larson Band needs to be WAY better known than they are. Glad to see the new endorsement deal, Jen. You deserve it.

  • really amazing bassist....

  • Nice, very nice you play bass very well.

  • By the way, amazing bassist.
