Awesome how what were once considered flashy/solo techniques have become part of the general musical vocabulary of players like Jennifer allowing her to play truly musical BASS GUITAR parts that fit and work 'hand in glove' with the other musicians she's playing with, lines that would not have been possible to conceive using just the old straight finger style that harps back to before electric bass guitars were invented.
@MiNdLeSs1234567890 Their most expensive cab is 1600 and its an 810. The only other cab they sell at GC for over a grand is a 610. Their heads start at about $450. I don't understand why everyone is complaining about their prices when they are pretty middle of the pack. Check out EBS, Aguilar, Bergantino and a few more if you think Markbass is expensive.
@MiNdLeSs1234567890 It IS alot of money, but if you consider the quality of it is worth the money. Those combo's are also very lightweight, which makes them pricey.
not all ppl have the same pinky. if you would break your pinky, i doubt if you would be able to play bass with it. i agree that her technique is not the best, but meanwhile she has an endorsement and you dont ;D there are 1000 bassists better than her, but maybe she has good connections ;]
@inthe7thhouse Hardly ruins true bass lol But you do realise flatwounds have a really specific sound that removes all the little nuiances which is exactly what people love about roundwounds. I'm fascinated with trying some flats though, but as a professional freelancer, it wont be versatile enough to use solely.
@christocr In Thisdude12's defense, yes she has learned to play great without using her pinky, but someone just getting started shouldn't try and emulate her technique, because it would hinder their learning of the instrument.
Jeeez...Jennifer, you are so damn good. I try to close my eyes sometimes when I listen toTLB... but if I'm on YouTube, I can't help but watch too.
You are simply the most perfect candidate for bass players to watch out for (both men and women), because you're a team player and it really shows up in the end result. It doesn't hurt that you have an infectious smile and demeanor.
That's so awesome... BTW you look beautiful, Jen (haven't seen you guys in a while) and I'm so happy for your success. It's a long way from Baywood Video.
So impressed and inspired every time I hear Jennifer play! The whole Travis Larson Band needs to be WAY better known than they are. Glad to see the new endorsement deal, Jen. You deserve it.
What's the effect on Georgia On My Mind?

I believe she's just using a bit of reverb and some piezo pickup mixed in with magnetic.

Her left hand position is really weird and how she uses her thumb isn't really a good technique.
