I am not surprised that a HK new singer is known in New York. I don't live in HK and am not in the age group of the average Jason Chan fans but I know and like his songs. In the age of satellite TV and internet, we catch up with the news very quickly. If someone really has talent, he won't go unnoticed. Jason should do well, if he keeps on singing great songs.
