These aren't businesses that offer real value to America, let alone do they deserve to have so much wasted roads, space and building materials dedicated their existence. I think I'm starting to put together the pieces here and can see what is wrong with the American economy. :(

During the boom years, builders could sell just about any property at ridiculous prices and find multiple buyers. They pinched the lot size in order to maximize profit margins.

We have a serious disease running amuck. Developers don't have respect for people anymore. All they care about is the most dollar per square inch. Front yards have all but vanished. Back yards getting smaller every year. Side yard? What the hell is that they say if ever asked the question. Where is the respect for people and privacy. What is the point of owning property if you cannot stretch out add to grow gardens and the like. Disgusting disease.

The Ackers St. property sold for $250K in 2007, now on the market for $125K. 1800 sq ft house. I'll take two of em'. :-)

Cut it in half again and it won't be much of a gamble to say it's bargain-hunting time. 100k would probably buy it now.

Those houses are too close together to have so many facing windows! It's funny at around 2 minutes in with the dueling satellite dishes :D

in az we are having problems buying homes. My friend has been trying to buy a home for 8 months but he keeps getting beat out on cash. So many people are paying cash for homes. Homes 40-90K homes are selling in day to weeks. my neighborhood had two forclosures and the one sold next to us for 460K in two weeks. Allot of forclosures here in az. Allot of real estate people have been telling me they can't keep up with the home sales.

Can get same type of house for alot cheaper in Arizona. Alot of the properties there , there is alot fo them too, for aroun 25,000 to 50,000 that look just as good as this.

@EconCat88 Well I saw a couple of 50m2 (540 sq ft) condo's here in Pattaya for a lot more. :0 Not sure about the built quality of these homes, but I kinda like them. :)
