  • I initially chose Anderson (I play Paragade, about 80% Paragon) but seeing as Udina is the councilor in ME3 no matter who you choose, I have chosen Udina in my subsequent playthroughs.

And I'm sort of pleased. Udina delivers the speech in the way I never thought he would. Sent chills down my spine.

  • Udina's voice cracks me up every time!

  • im glad my ps3 chose to kill wrex, destroy the council, and choose udina without my permission. all of them seeming like renegade actions for my purely paragon shepherd

  • @rdreegsrdr Didn't the PS3 version of ME2 have the interactive comic where you can make those choices yourself?

  • @Larrylarp

when i got the game i tried to find it in the psn store, but it wasnt there. then i realized it was in the activation slip found in the game case. when i tried to activate it from the game it said i couldnt for some reason so i left the sheet out of the case. someone must have thrown it away since then. partially my fault but they should at least have put the comic in the store without the code, or better yet make it a part of the ps3 version regardless

  • @rdreegsrdr Huh, that's weird. I don't have the PS3 version myself and I haven't even used PSN ever so I can't really help with that. You're right that the comic should have been ready on the disc and it shouldn't require any codes. I wish they could port ME1 for the PS3, since it's a huge part of the story and those who can't import saves from there will miss out a lot.

And ME1 is just better than ME2, in my opinion at least.

  • @Larrylarp

yeah i feel kinda robbed. the activation gave you access to zaaed and some armor. i think they did it to force people to buy the game new, instead of used. i understand why they did that for something like zaaed, but to restrict access to the comic is criminal. and i really wish there was a PS3 version of ME1. i feel like wrex would play a big part in helping gain krogan support and the rachni queen could help fight Reaper organics. oh well...

  • Udina:"-and together we will send the reapers back into DAAARK space." Lol moment achieved.

  • i picked anderson

  • i chose udina 2 for alien council

  • I choose Udina on my paragon shep because he knows more about politics and stuff and Anderson says he prefers military life and he doesn't really want to be on the council it makes more sense even though Udina is an a-hole he does care about humanity

  • How come the music is all evil? When I played, the music to this scene was all joyful. Does renegade vs paragon even change that?

  • @KTNH8807 Yes. This music probably comes if your Renegade score is higher than your Paragon score.

  • I'd never pick Udina for the council. The Council is made up of douche-bags, it's imo better if a man representing the Human Alliance would stand out from the crowd, in a good way.

  • I hate how the Turian Councillor acts all chummy with you at the end of Mass Effect 1 and he goes into full on Prick Mode in Mass Effect 2, hell the Council even acknowledged Sovereign as a seperate entity to the Geth! I hope Bioware puts in an "Ah Yes Reapers" dialogue option in Mass Effect 3, hopefully to the Turian Councillor when he is being attacked by Reapers.

  • @SinDawg030 Turian Councilor: I'm Mr. Bombastic, my death is going to be really fantastic!

  • @SinDawg030 "What... h-how could this be? What ARE these?! They are attacking Palaven!"

Paragon - "We are coming to help you, councilor!"

Neutral - "See... there are these things called Reapers..."

Renegade - *Disconnect* "Oops... damn comm relays!"

  • @theMOANKAYproject

Shepard: "Ah yes, Reapers *air quotes*. The immortal race of sentient starships, allegedly waiting in Dark Space. We have dismissed that claim"

Valern: How DARE you Shepard! Do you have any-"

Shepard: NO! How dare YOU, Councillor ignore me again and again! If you want your worthless hide to live another day then you will follow my exact instructions to the letter, understood?!"

    Valern ". . . yes Shepard, understood"

Shepard: "Your first wise decision, Councillor"

  • @SinDawg030 ...I hope you wrote the dialogue in the game :D

  • Why this is logical to pick Anderson? Well, ME2 players only, got Udina as a council member. For some reason I dont trust BioWae Because of that.

  • I like Anderson and l think he is happier being an Advisor.

  • lmao At the pop up -"Udina Fuck youuu!!!"

  • I love the way Udina speaks. it's so manly for such a spineless weasel

  • 1:57-2:53.

    Goosebumps.

  • You have to admit, his talk was quite awsome.

  • 2:10 FOR THE EMPERAH!

  • Comment removed

  • You guys DO realize that Udina backslides on EVERYTHING he said here in the second game, right?

    Fuck Udina! Anderson any day!

  • There are three things I will never do, even as the most hardcore renegade:

    1. Reveal the evidence at Tali's trial/not do the mission

    2. Kill Wrex

    3. Pick Udina for councilor.

  • I never choose Udina

  • Thing is Udina knows the political thing is a game of it's own. Anderson's intentions are good which is great but he may not have the twisted skills to do things as efficiently as Udina.

  • @TriLink12 The problem is you're assuming that everyone who plays this game wants to be the ultimate goody goody. Fuck that. Udina > Anderson any day.

  • Wow, he was really kick-ass there =) Just did my first FemShep with Udina so I was happy to see this.

  • Wow udina this changed my opinion about you :D

  • Udina does care about Humanity

its just that he is a dickhead

  • I focused fire on soveirgn, and let the council die. and picked Captain Anderson, not sure if i did the right thing

  • Dude, Udina is a slave to PR. No way I'd pick him.

  • wow. udina has the quads to make that speech........

  • Udina may be a a git, but his final speech is *epic*

  • I think this is the renegade ending for the game, because the background is much more violent.

  • I saved the Council and chose Udina on my Troll Shepard renegade adept playthrough. I pissed off the Council and disconnected the com in humiliating ways after each major mission, I killed someone virtually every time the opportunity presented itself, and yet I still saved those blind, stubborn morons. I just hope there is some cool dialogue in ME3 for renegades. :) Udina is a pretty awesome and well-written character with exceptional voice acting... pity he is so misunderstood.

  • Fuck Udina!

  • Sometimes Udina tends to slurhiswordstogetherandheneverputsaperiodattheendofasentence

  • After this cutscene,

Shepard: Don't piss in my ear and tell me it's raining.

  • All that was needed to finish Udinas speech was ''I AM .....HUMAAAAANNN'' (bull-rushes to his seat on council)

  • Spoiler! If u let the council die the other species might not help Shepard fight the Reapers cuz they'll think humans only care about power and themselves

  • Even though I always pick Anderson, Udina's speech is better. I think that they are both good choices its just that Udina is focused on making humanity look good whereas Anderson deals with it as it is.

  • YOU...ARE NOT...PREPARED!

  • Udine seems to have more passion in his speech.

  • we will drive them back into deep spess! D:<

    FOR THE EMPRAH!

  • @Thongger TEH CODECKS ARSETARTES NEHMS THIS MANOUEVER STEEL REHN!!!

  • The speech by Udina was fucking awesome tho

  • I just don't like Udina.......I chose Anderson when I was renegade too....

  • even as a Renegade, I could not choose Udina. I let the council die, but I'm sure as hell not going to put him in charge. If I'm a Renegade, why would I pick the obvious choice?

  • Like how badass shepard as he walks away.

  • And let me just say that Udina's voice actor is freakin' awesome. Even as a douchebag, Udina's one of the coolest characters in the series, someone you love to hate. But they should also give him sone dimension in ME3.

  • @Larrylarp agreed. Udina as a character is one of the biggest dicks in the game, but I always loved his voice. This speech, and his 'I'm sick of this council and it's anti human bull-' are some of the best lines in teh game

  • @Thongger Its hard to say how you can identify Udina.

Look at it this way. Your Shepard, he treats you like crap, he stabs you in the back, and he just doesn't support you.

Now look at it the other way.

He has good intentions, he wants power for humans and has STRONG connections to get that power, and he thinks about the people rather than just loving the position of councilor. Even though he does.

Yeah, he's a great character to hate because your shepard, ya just can't love him.

  • @TheBadShaman Good intentions? He has power lust.

  • @Madfoot713 Well, I mean sure he does. I always think in my head "Udina just wants to be friends with the council to be with them"

But honestly, power lust isn't a horrible thing. Yeah, he has power now, but its not like he is fucking Humans up the ass by saying "Ok bitches, this is how we roll now" No, he sticks to tradition and gets things done. Period.

  • @TheBadShaman Like hell it isn't a bad thing.

  • Udina's speech was pretty damn epic, even moreso than Anderson's. It's even more awesome from him because he's, well... Udina. I actually started to like him after this.

Then ME2 rolled around, they hit the reset button and Udina became an asshole again... fuck!

  • IMO if you save the council, Udina is better while Anderson is better if you let the council die.

  • @Tlevids Very true, this is exactly what I thought. Udina is a douchebag, but he knows politics. The alien council won't look after humanity's best interest, but Udina will. Captain Anderson isn't a politician, but he's the safest choice for an all human council. The all human council will solely focus on humanity's interest, Anderson isn't pro-human or alien, he's fair for both sides.

  • @uadfa ii know u sent the comment ages back but anyway, in saving the council and choosing anderson Udina protests, however if u kill them and choose udina he agrees

  • I picked Anderson the first time round (because Udina's a prick), but decided to see how Udina fares the second time round after Anderson said he didn't like being a politician.

  • How do you get this ending ? must you choose renegade options with saren ? Cos i was mostly renegade and the council dialogue was rather brief.

  • "He is a man capable of doing what needs to be done." Like -what-? Taking one for the team? He's useless, hun.

  • Can I finish Paragon if I replicate this same action? How about finishing Sovereign or... Saving the Council then choosing neither Anderson or Udina? If I pick the latter whose on the council? Many questions, would appreciate the help. I no longer have any files on either game so replay is inevitable. I just feel Anderson is worthless as a politician.

  • too bad anderson resigns and udina ends up a council member no matter what we chose

  • @valeria262 o.O im pretty sure that Anderson remains as the Council Member in ME2 if you choose him. Mainly cause I always see him there as the Council Member when I do my Paragon side :P

  • @FussiestSnake well there are stories taking place after ME2 were Anderson resigns and Udina becomes councilor...I know it's the dumbest shit ever

  • @22srs22 no it's not, default anderson in me2 is relieve udina is the councilor becouse he can't stand politics.

  • @bladerj you haven't read the comics did you

  • @22srs22 i read the boring one with the smurf alien and the one with Tim, so how is that relevant ?

  • @bladerj well in one of the comics Anderson quits the council and Udina takes his place

  • I picked Udina first.

  • I dont like Udina but he's got a awesome voiceactor, I facking love the moment when you can pick the renegade options in the council meeting early on in the game, Udina is really badass in that speech

  • Saved the council, picked Udina.Anderson would feel like electing Alistair for king, they are good people, but they don't know politics,AND they both are hesitant to take the seat/throne.

  • @Deathseeker214 anderson got it easy,i killed alistair XD

  • I choose Udina and killed the council because im renegade

  • Ahh yes, "Reapers". The immortal race of sentient star ships allegedly waiting in dark sp-ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL

  • Where is this taking place??

  • But if you choose Anderson all he does is complain about the job. Don't get me wrong he's awesome but Saving the Council and picking Udina seems somewhat logical

  • @ramjet94 Politics and politeness mean nothing in the face of the Reaper invasion my friend

  • Udina: "And we will drive them back into dark space!"

    Turian: "Ah yes "REAPERS"

Anderson: "You know what! I'm sick of this shit!!! (shoots Turian)

    Asari: "THANK GOD!!!!!!

  • Udinas speech own....the perfect ending, humanity will send back the reapers back to dark space...xd so much like a sith lol,Anderson speech was akward lol the guy dont know what to say

  • @shinigamidu13 I know right! Anderson's speech was ok but awkward, I was surprised how awum Udina's speech was! The only reason I ever picked Udina was to hear this speech

  • Udina is a complete dick that's all I know. This choice is exported over.

  • This choice is exported to ME 2

  • this choice is not exported to ME2 i guess.....

you choice for who is the councillor is when miranda (i guess) ask shepard who is the councillor now

  • Anderson is a war time leader. Udina isnt

  • Vote anderson! he was born in london after all brit for ..... counciler

  • In books and comics the original counsil died and Udina became the 1st human counsilor.

  • plz if you have ME2 make a video meeting the council with anderson

  • "oh and udinia one more thing"

    (walks towards him)

    FAAAALCOOOWN PAAAAAAAAWNCH

  • @Arzaker ROFL!!!

  • 1. Lol, Udina talks about the reapers here, but he doesnÄt believe into them in Part 2 anymore

    2. Why are they standing inside some building? I remeber them standing outside.

  • @RedaktionUploader it depends on your morality if your mostily rengade it does it in the building but if your mostly Paragon then its in the presiduem

  • Ah, I see.

Don't get what inside buildings and being evil has in commond, but Bioware will know what's right xD

  • Holy shit, I didn't know Udina had the testicles to talk like that xD

Poor Anderson just stood quiet there :(

  • Kinda funny how they believed in the reapers in the ending of ME1 then in ME2 they are all like. Ah yes the "reapers" the very thing saren tricked the geth and now you into beliving they are real

  • @Orzien 2 words man "Galactic Politics" Under the table and behind closed doors, the truth comes out to those that know the real truth, but out in the open it was only a "Geth invasion"...But its a double edge sword telling the entire galaxy about the reapers...Just immagine how many fucking idiots would want to bring them back with promises of power...in a way its better off that the official story was Geth, the less people know about the reapers the better the chances they stay in dark space

  • @Orzien

The council acknowledges Sovereign's existence. They just don't believe that he's a Reaper. A soon as Udina's speech ended the Turian councilor probably responded with "AH YES, REAPERS."

  • 2:41 isn't that whats behind TIM in mass effect 2?

  • all right im really confused, this is the background you get when you kill the council, and ive never heard them make this speech after you save them. what did you pick when you got the choice to save the council or go straight for soveriegn?

  • I was trying to skip over when udina was talking, because I hate his stupid face! And I accidentally picked him for the council... :l So I immediately shut off my xbox, and fought Saren all over again to undo my unjust action. (:

  • @Pilgrimedia maybe you should of picked him anyhow, i did just so i could have the possibility of making him look like a jackass in MAss 2, but however it seems my choices dont change the ultimate outcome of me working cerebrus, and the alliance being political douchebags anyhow reguardless of whatever action i took, would of been better if when i chose to save the council, there would be alliance support instead of cerebrus, sounds more logical to to implement 2 different boss choices

  • only a cunt would pick him what cocsucker he reminds me of john mcain!!!!

  • Theres one where you dont save the council and you pick him anyway, there is a good speech there

  • Well, I originally didn't pick Udina. But when I played ME2 Anderson seemed like he didn't enjoy being part of the council. And idk. njkfhaksf. Now I can't undo it because I went back and made Udina Council-Man. BLAH

  • You're right; nobody picked Udina. lol. He's not just a prick; he's also incapable of getting along with anybody, and he's totally untrustworthy. He'd be TERRIBLE at the job.

  • i was gonna pick anderson, but when udina said something about anderson not being experienced or something, i wasnt paying attention and ended up agreeing with by accident. but in ME2 anderson goes behind udinas back and says he happier so its all good :P

  • i picked udina by accident, and in me2 i said i picked anderson ROFL

  • why does 73 people like this video?

  • Lol is there anyone who is picking Udina for the council?

Anyone i have spoken so far finds him an arrogant bastard (including me)

  • fuck Udina

Anderson is more B.A than him to

    Thumbs up if you agree

  • I like how Udina seems convinced that theirs Reapers...and the Council seems ok with it too...but nooooo in ME2 everyones like...NO IT WAS THE GETH! YOURE WRONG SHEPARD, Its not like we doubted you before and were wrong like EIGHT TIMES

  • why why cant u just pull out a rocket launcher and fire fuckign turian and shout "oh yes reapers"

  • @brotherhoodoutcast22 or when reaper comes have the turian fleet in the front lines except the one that like humans

  • So few people pick Udina, that people have to put videos of it on You Tube just so they can actually see what happens. That's just sad, but he's an ass so he deserves it.

  • 2 things I noticed after watching this video

    1) The only time the Turian Councilor doesn't chew you out is if you save his life at the end of the game.

    2) Udina and the Turian Councilor together would make a scary juggernaut of douche-baggery.

  • @pizzacat83 hes also "nice to you" if u mess up zuuz hope

  • I'll NEVER, EVER choose Udina, not even just to see what happens.

I hate him so much, that I'd rather REFUSE the Council's offer for a seat on the council than choose UDINA as the councilor.

    FUCK UDINA.

Worst character in the ME Universe.

  • @UshiromiyaReiji

im so glad i wiped out the council and shot wrex

  • @SUpersaiyajinjerkbag

Why did you kill him? You could have saved him.

  • I dismiss this Udina.

  • wow dude that aint funny udina is a bitch in ME2 id choose anderson even if i was doing full renegade id do anderson cause hes cool udinas a prick

  • Your problem is at the start in this video

    You let the Council live

    Unless you were Paragon :P

  • dont feel that you have to kill the council or pick udina for your renegade character. My renegade was earthborn/ruthless I saved the council and picked Anderson. My reason? you dont even see the human council in me2 and they're as useless as the alien council anyway.. Udina turned his back on you while Anderson always helped you out.

  • @GuysSeriously I like how he's giving his big, passionate "knock the reapers into dark space" rant here, yet in two short years he's just like, "Reapers? What Reapers?"

  • @DoctorPorkenfries Ah yes, "Udina". A politician from Earth who locked Shepard and his ship up and is an asshole. We have dismissed that claim.

  • @DoctorPorkenfries thats politics for you.....

  • @GuysSeriously You make a good point but the human council could play a big role in ME3. You never know.

  • I'm certain Udina was jumping the gun at 1:12

'...Wait, who said you got into the council yet? When we said humanity's strength we just wanted some of your fleet'

  • I always choose Anderson over Udina for 3 reasons:

    1) Anderson deserves something good after Saren ruined his chances of becoming a Spectre.

    2) I'm sure as hell not picking Udina after he screwed us over to look good for the council.

    3) Anderson isn't concerned about politics or looking good; he does the right thing and gets the job done.

    Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @JMDub89 wished we can choose proper people IRL to lead our own countries like Anderson, unlike fucktard Politicians, eg Kevin Rudd.

  • @JMDub89 too bad no politicians are like that

  • @Isuckatpaintball2 Of course their are.

  • @JMDub89 The 3 reasons to pick Udina are:

    1) hmmm he´s ... and so on.

ah screw it there are no reasons for Udina.

    :D

  • @JMDub89 you goddamn right. if i had an option to shoot udina, i would've done right there and appoint henderson at the same time.

  • @JMDub89 I agree

  • @JMDub89 F*ck yeah... plus Udina is a f*cking dick.

  • @JMDub89 i picked anderson becouse udina was a jerk, but udina is the better option, hence why he is default, in me 2 anderson doesnt like politics and is relieved that udina is the concilor. Like is its a better option to let ashley martyr herself and clean her family name, the only reason i saved her is that i swear she was the only squadmate in my team that actually FIRED on the enemies, everyone else was full of excuses like i can't see shit, sowee ! i pratically beat the game alone.

  • @bladerj

I disagree; I still think Anderson is better. You know why? Because in ME2, Anderson believes you about the Reapers, and even does his best to help you, what little he can do. Udina, on the other hand, does his best to convince everyone the Reapers are a myth!

Jacob even says (if you pick Anderson), "Glad to see the new human ambassador isn't putting politics ahead of defense."

  • @JMDub89 it's been a time since i played me2, but as i recall udina actually tells you they spread the rumour of repear as a myth in order to prevent panic, wich is something you would expect from a politician, the council on the other hands, are pretty thick skulls for not believing you.

  • @bladerj

Anderson says Udina and the Council spent the last 2 years convincing "themselves" the Reapers don't exist (if you let the old council die). Also, if you look up Udina on the Mass Effect wiki, it says, if you appoint him, the Council "are not quite as enthusiastic as they could be—they know Udina's style of working a little too well." Also, as proven during the first game, Udina is more concerned with politics than what needs to be done; he's nothing but a thorn in your side all ME1.

  • @bladerj

Also, just because something is the default in ME2 does not mean it is the best option; remember, the default beginning of ME2 has the Council dead, and Wrex is dead as well.

  • @JMDub89 it's my opinion BUT, i believe it's better becouse it's how the creators intended for the mass public, the other options, like keep wrex alive, anderson etc, are bonuses for those who played the first game. But from a game plot point, you see the default options are better, i'm still on the fence of the rachini, i have to wait how that will develop over me3, but i also expect it to be a bonus for you.

  • @bladerj

I still don't think the default options are inheritantly better. The council's deaths mean the galaxy now has new, inexperienced leadership, and Wrex's death means he won't bring the reforms that so drastically help the Krogan species start to rebuild. That means a weaker galaxy for the Reapers to attack.

Still, you are entitled to your opinion, and let's give the Reapers hell in ME3! :D

  • I like how Udina is the one giving the speech about the Reapers when in the second game he doesn't give a flying crap. Still, I love that one line- "Do the words political shit-storm mean anything to you?"

  • Lol I bet nobody picked this guy

I hate that piece of shit who made me lose my spectre status :(

  • udina is an ass and so is the council. i just let the council die then i choose anderson and now i imported my character into mass effect 2 and anderson hates being counciler

  • I love it how people are so passionate about this game, I played full renegade since my shephard was a guy who took no shit, picked cripples in the face and eats quarion babies for breakfast, but even I still didn't pick udina, because I couldn't bring myself to choose that prick!!!! If it was my I'd pick neither, I'd kill em both and have myself, Wrex and Garrus on the council, then I'd go mental and reassign spectres fucktres

  • @darkmatter87075 that makes me think, how so quarians have babies

  • wrex and garrus are the best teammates everrr!

  • @beukyboy indeed

  • Fuck Udina. He's a sycophantic prick.

  • I would have killed him if i had the chance

  • I let the council die and chose Udina. He was a politic man from the start where Anderson is a soldier. Listen to his speech at the end : only a badass like him can rule the galaxy.

  • @CplPanaite ...........really?? I let the council die AND chose Anderson who says the same thing but EVEN BETTER

  • Udina is a douche. He blamed me more than the whole council combined.

  • Udina is a real leader that humanity needs, like the Illusive Man. Humanity will pay the largest sacrifice when the Reapers come in lives, so why should they not leave?

  • Udina is an idiot trying to climb his way onto the top whatever the cost. The Illusive Man is a fanatic that is willing to sacrifice his and other's humanity to win the war...

  • Udina is a dick lol! That mother fucker is such a liar. A few days, that dick is already pretending the reapers don't exist.

  • In real life, a badass species like the Turians would do all the Reaper pwning, our weak monkey asses wouldn't be doing shit.

  • That's a thing to argue about. Humans can adept rather quickly, from what the codexes state, other races needed a lot more time to evolve. The Turians may have some military power, but they don't seem to be particulary strong. And their representative, the Turian cousilor, is an ass, maybe the second biggest ass bested only by udina...

  • The council were secretly like "lol no Udina it's 3 against 1, stfu"

  • I'm surprised this many people picked Udina. I'd have hit him myself if I could have....

So I had Anderson do it :-)

  • Why do all the council members have jizz on their faces?
