it is like the AK47 of paintball guns and i got my whole package which was the m16 package which cost me 300 bucks at canadian tire for the m16 barrel the stock magazine and the paint bayonet clip ive dropped it in mud at my team's home arena and it got dropped in a lake and it still works prefectly but i prefer the A5 with the mp5k set cause its lighter and i like to rush the other team more

@MrDonkeyWaffles I think this depends on your air compressor. Typically an air compressor that you have at home, wouldn't be able to do that, but it's a possibility. You'd need to know the PSI of your air compressor or something in order to figure that out.

@codfreak2332 It's a good beginner gun, but get an AGD Automag instead. They may be very old but the design and performance of it beats any tippmann. Go check em out. You can get an emag for 700+ or a simple automag 68 classic for around 120$. If you see a good deal on the automags, DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY IT. I'd def pick this over a tippmann.

This is a great gun for beginners or experienced players. I bought mine about 10 yrs ago and have never had a major problem with it. I have played with people using Autocockers & Angels and all the other expensive guns and my 98 custom hangs with them all.

Co2 depends heavily on the weather. In cold weather, balls will drop like crazy. In hot weather, it's strong as heck. Air has little difference. Co2 is also hard to measure, there aren't those meters like in compressed air. Co2 ALSO hurts o-rings a LOT more than compressed air.

Co2 is good for people who don't seriously play or have tons of money, compressed air is good for everything else.

Just bought this gun and safety button is jammed. Took the gun apart and found that the safety pin is too large on one side so the gun is always on fire mode. Going to a field in a few days, will see if there is anything else wrong with it.

@careystev052 platinum has a two piece body, which makes it easier to clean. The 98 has 1 body piece. Tippmann doesnt make the regular 98 anymore just the platinum.

Compressed air tanks are origonally ment for guns that are ment to shoot fast. Such as a smart parts ion. A tipman will work fine with a 32oz co2 tank. And with a 32oz you getmore shots in that compressed air.

i have a dlx luxe(1700 dollar gun) and play for team justice. if u are 10-11 years old and you want to get into the sport just for fun.... definitly get the tippmann 98.. it is the most customizable gun thier is. there is literally 2000 combos to have it customized. also if u wat more info on paintball i recommend going to-techpbpaintball- mike has 1000's of videos that will help you o wat gun to buy

@SpitfireZero i wouldnt try the gun out.. when tippmanns are highly used for years .. i have seen problems with the bolts. they put different spins on the balls and have a broad tendecy to break paintballs/ if you like the gun, buy it from him for like 60 or 65 and buy your own compressed air tank. its alot cleaner.better.morte shots..bottom line get compressed air

Good vid. I liked the fact that you put the camera where it would clearly show the targets. Showing where you were shooting from was a nice touch too. Your review was to the point. (1 clarification would be that CO2 is a gas but when it is in the tank it is a liquid. That is just splitting hairs.)
