  • OMG The play has my name above it Beautiful =D

  • ohmygosh. the turnout!! the beauty!!

  • The best!

  • GeOrGeOuS!

  • I Love paquita -- my favorite classical/neoclassical? ballets

  • beautiful!!!

  • love 2:00! my favorite part of the entire ballet is those 30 seconds or so! :-P

  • A jewel of a performance. flufrules

  • bello bello bellooooo

  • super!

  • I know this sounds mean but you can really tell these girls are Americans by the size of their legs!!

  • @brewskyxxx

Yeah that was mean , but I am sure this is the paris opera ballet with Agnès Letestu as princable

so I am guessing they are french

  • we just danced paquita in our recital this morning :)

  • is so beutiful :)

  • I agree! The way they dance and fill out the music with their movement is simply gorgeous! :)

  • Magnifico!!!

    Congratulations!

    Great Job! :)

  • its so perfect......!!!!!!!!

  • Who are the two dancers in this wonderful pas de deux?

    Also, which company is it?

  • This is the Opera de Paris company and the name of the dancers are: Agnes Letestu and Jose Martinez (She is French and he is Spanish)

  • This classical style of ballet certainly sets the heart racing, However I feel that Neo-Classical ballet certainlty has the edge over this contemporary movement. Though still performed today I ponder that the Imperial Russian Ballet of St Petersburg depicts this act in a far greater light. Having said that I admire that these great dancers of art perform through the pain barrier, without fault. in the hope of astounding its audience. The male performer in this production is a proper qwegg.

  • not being a complete spécialist in english mumbo-jumbo But if Queg is what I think, its a queer(,) fact that he co-habits with his partenair here, as far as I know.

  • Sorry, marvellous though this is, I have the Bujones/Gregory version. Now that IS the epitome of dance!

Does anyone know whether Fonteyn/Nureyev danced this together?

  • to balletnut: Fonteyn and Nureyev did dance Paquita together, probably during the mid 1960s. I doubt very much a video record of their performances exists but you can find black and white photos of it in the photographic essay book, "Fonteyn", written by Keith Money.

  • This is the epitome of dance and an embodiment all emotions that is sure to tingle senses. Wizardry at the helm it seems for whoever produced this stunning masterpiece. A sincerely epic performance.

Thank you, hole heartedly, for this treat.

  • Occasionally you see the sort of technically accomplished and emotionally calibrated performance that makes you want to jump onto your seat and applaud uncontrollably. Had it not been for my strict willingness to salvage my decorum, then I probably would have done so at this recital.

True excellence at work here, such grace. One could say that this piece is a perfect means of expression for love, tragedy and then ecstasy all in one foul swoop.

  • i love the chreography and the music:) Bravo

  • gah i did this for my summer intensive. it was hard but fun! you needed lots of control!

  • this is what we are doing for our spring performance but i its amazing how they synchronize. they have beautiful balance to. i still hav alot to learn on pointe, but they are amazing!

  • you're doing the unsynchronized version? sorry, not familiar with that one

  • he jabs her rib at 3:55 ... ouch!

  • yeah - I noticed that, too - ouch!

  • they have some of the most beautiful arches i have ever seen. if only my feet could look like that.

  • word. in the very beginning, check out the 3rd from the right girl...her tendu in plie is insane.

  • omg i'm dancing that XDXD it is realy cool!

  • Hey man, isn't this the ballet where the girl discovers she's actually part of the nobility and then marries her cousin? Gross dude, gross.

  • Soooo cute

  • great

  • O.0

    by ballet teacher sooo stole

this dance from them! i was wondering

where he came up for the choreography!

but they're so together and clean it makes my whole studio look bad! :/

  • This is absolutely spectacular. Nothing terribly complicated, yet all the bodies moving with such synchronization is breathtaking.

  • I am SO IN LOVE with the fifth position cannon at the beginning!

  • I am SO IN LOVE with the fifth position cannon at the beginning!

  • amazing!!! my company is doing Paquita and i know it wont be anywhere close to how amazing this is!!!

  • and the mazurka?

  • Perfection!

  • JADORE PAQUITA!!!J'aime "wedding pas variation"

  • and I also love Cynthia Grerory& Fernando Bujones!charming and elegance.....

  • oui ....j'adore l'OPERA DE PARIS,and Letestu & Martinez are very nice persone(I've met them at the restaurant that I worked at!)

  • Does anyone know what company this is? And who is dancing the main role?

  • Is Paros Opera Ballet Agnes Letestu Josè Martinez

  • dear dev nothing better than The Paris Opera Ballet So chic & elegant A real example to less ambitious companies

  • sure!

  • what I like best is the fact that each dancer looks happy to be doing what they're doing! No anorexic girls, either! Bravo, the precision is beautiful!

  • eso si ke es un arte i nop lo grafitis de las paredes

  • I absolutely LOVE the way they all close into fifth in cannon at the beginning. Precision much?

  • el cuerpo de baile es estupendo....

  • millbrae dance academy(aka my dance studio) is doing this song for our recital! is that u cameron?

  • i did a ballet dance from this song at my dance skool 4 my recital

  • Thanks for sharing! My ballet company is performing this ballet, so it gave me some added insight. I love the music of this one!

  • Superior dancing, very good! They should get a gold medal!

  • isn't this paris opera?

  • wow the corps were amazing, so in time. well done and a pleasure to watch

  • i wasnt really impressed, in the needle scale it wasnt all the way up...

oh well i dont think i would be able to do that anyways, maybe i could, cause im a gymnast... oh well

  • Her penche was beautiful, as were those in the corps, particularly the third girl from the right in blue. This corps is absolutely lush.

  • Im the girl on the very end to the right. I hated rehersal for this! But it was very fun to dance!

  • bravoo!

  • wah! so flexible...

  • I miss ballet soo bad, but when your studio asks you to have an eating disorder that you already have...its time to leave (but not before punching the owner)!!

  • When you say "not spectacular", you nean you're missing the usual nowaday circus?

  • gorgeous!!

  • looks like a gorgeous production...! and i agree with snarkymom's comment - the corps is outstanding!

  • Super corps de ballet! Those ladies are all completely together. the must have rehearsed this a hundred times to make it look so good. All young students need to study them too because you'll spend a lot of time in the corps while you're learning.

  • great!

  • akrobatikballetonpoint

  • nice

  • It's the Pas de deux and it's from Minkus. (that's who wrote the music for Paquita) and it has nowadays only this act.. so it's the only pas de deux.. I hope that answer your question xD

ohh and i liked it! good video! not spectacular dancers.. but very neat! thanks for posting it! :)

  • goooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuurgeous...! we just learned a variation from paquita...i luv it...!

  • beyooooooteaful!!!

  • can someone pls tell me the music? it's fantastic. thanks.

  • Maybe I'm stating the obvious... Isn't the ballet 'Paquita' normally performed to the music 'PAQUITA'

  • i was trying to ask about the segment of music in THIS video. i'm not an idiot. okay, maybe i am.

  • They're not going to have a 5 minute dance, there has to be other music.

  • i'm in my school's (ballet school obviosuly) performance of the pas de trois from paquita... unfortunately not in this video.

  • I <3 it!!

  • It's Paris Opera Ballet

  • Those sets and costumes are gorgeous. I didn't think the leads were all that spectacular though. (Still a great video though, thanks for posting it :) Do you know what company this is? )

  • You post great videos. Thanks for sharing them. I really enjoy them. Love ballet
