@JasonDouglasMedia both had thier pros and cons. the gopro is great during the day and is full HD quality, and you can get 60fps in 720p which is great for slomo. but the sound is horrible, and forget using it at night. plus no way to mount a light.(or no easy way that i've found,no hot shoe)

the vx1000 has a great wide angle lens, and the sound is amazing. you can attach a light with it which helps it look very good at night. but it's not hd and very outdated, and still expensive.
