I am a Veteran of the 1-7FA from when they were Garrisoned in Scweinfurt, Germany. It is great to see the Unit colors again!!! Great video and thank you for the wonderful sentiment.
steve i love ur viedos and thanks for hourning our vets.and to all those haters dont talk about our military like that the put there lives on the line for our freedom and if ur from a other country i dont care dont talk about our military i know many vets and current military and they are good americans and u say that we are all hicks yellin usa in our garden we dont. so take this u haters U-S-A
I like this mainly because my father passed away a few years ago and he was in the military 21 years retired Air Force and we got a flag, the bullets from his 21 gun salute (we each got 3) and his ashes. So making this for him would be a very good idea. Of course I don't have the power tools you have and have to improvise on what I can use to cut the wood and what type of wood to use, since I have a jigsaw and a Dremel and that's it. But I do like this idea as a way to honor his memory.
Steve, nice work on the case and on the video. I am as surprised as you were when the hate comments started. I don't suppose any of the haters know anyone in their military and understand the difficulty of following orders. I commend you for having the courage to post this and work through dealing with the ignorance. I guess the old saying about no good deed goes unpunished holds true in this instance. Keep up the good work, American wood workers are with you.
The mere fact that us civilians are completely unable to thank our Military for everything they do for us, makes what they have done for you Steve absolutely incredible. What an amazing gift they have given you!!!! I think you did a great job making that display case for the flag, picture, and certificate.
Can't say I agree with everything that the commader in chief does, nor do I agree with recent military decisions, but I know that I wouldn't want to be in that position, and I value the job they do.
Steve, don't listen to the negative comments. I am from Canada, and watch your video's religiously. I'm just finishing up both the sliding table saw and sliding miter saw, and have nothing but great things to say. I would like to say that I understand what your intensions were, and on behalf of this veteran, and my grandfather, who is also a veteran (of WWII) I would like to thank you.
It's amazing all the different ways you can honor America and those who serve. I'd be proud to display both the contents and the box you made to display it in my house. Nice work!! BTW...perfect music choice

As having the privilege of being personally acquainted with you Steve and being a veteran myself, I want to thank you for your video in honor of our men and woman who serve our country in uniform.
Awesome Steve, just awesome. Thank you for honoring our veterans. I made a similar case to honor my wife's grandfather who was in the Korean war and passed away a couple years ago. Nice work!
I was there when that pic at 1:54 was taken. LT Colonel Gainey was saying dismissed! I have never been so happy to hear those words! I was so ready to see my husband! My husband was on JSS Loyalty during this deployment!
Forget the haters Steve! Thanks for your consideration of our military! As a Navy vet, I always appreciate when someone goes out of their way to xpress grattitude.
Dont let the turkeys get you down. There will always be someone that is an ass about things. Please... keep up the good work!
That flag represents so much that is not political. It represents the very men and women who have fought for the freedom of everyone, not to exclude the haters. As a vet, I appreciate your tribute to our vets and to the valiant 1-7 Field Artillery.
as always great Job on the video! Sorry about all the haters, this video is as good as any you do and i find it in no way to be offensive at all and a great way of showing your acceptance and appreciation of a gift. And Happy Veterans Day for those living and dead. Soldiers and Civilains a like.( of all nations)
Steve great video, you are a true Patriot my friend. I never served in the military but I was a cop for 22 years. I have seen many flags draped over fallen officer's caskets and it is a moving sight to see. Thanks for what you did. The song was great also.

@DougFnDrake Shouldn't you be watching Fox News or something..?Ive lived all over the world, including Muslim countries (Im from the UK). Ive shared houses/flats with people of so many nations, studied with them, partied with them, but never have I met such bunch of retarded, know-nothing about the world group of twats as Americans. Go chant U-S-A! in your front garden you hick.
@yoss1978 ouch, you really know how to make words hurt. now im so depressed im going to have to stay in from my front garden and cry. i only wish i could be so cool as you with your fucked up teeth and whitty slang terms used to insult people, but im just a hick. :( LONG LIVE THE QUEEN! cheerio ya little bugga!
@yoss1978 I think you may want to watch your grammer when calling an entire nation an unacceptable term. I would have expected better from someone so well travelled and studied.
@mikekali55 Too many civilian bodies building up around the world for polite talk. Maybe we've all had enough bullshit 'U-S-A!!' to give a fuck what you think anymore?
@yoss1978 Interesting how you assume I am from the United States. I am not. Again, I would have thought better from someone that claims to be well travelled. I think you have to start looking at your own nation before you can condem the actions of another. You may be interested in your own monarchs oppression of India's civilians. For that matter, what of the occupation of the America's? I would think Native American's would have a few choice words for your views. No one is clean.
Nobody could give a song the soul that Ray could and nobody can pour their soul into a woodworking project like Steve......keep up the good work. I am a veteran and you do us proud. Thanks
It's sick how many people are disapproving of our troops who lay down their lives everyday to keep peace and freedom. Show some respect! If you wouldn't go to the frontline yourself than shut the heck up and get a life because the DID. Think about it, we lost half a million troops during ww2. Could we just have one day a year to respect these people? or is that too much to ask for. This world makes me sick sometimes... almost un-human how disrespectful people are.
They got the right man, for the job. I thank all of them for what they have been trying to do, even if the man in the white house will not go out and do it, his self. I am sorry that, that the USA, has lost, so many men and woman, Thank you Sir, for making this video, you did a very nice job.
