As far as electronica has come nowadays, and you have a younger generation of techno, I'm still moved by the 90s classics. This one, snivilisation, In Sides, are still in rotation for me. Along with the newer techno like Simon Posford and all.
Time is short. Turned 45 a few months ago. THIS is the song, that me, my friends, and everyone else rode till E wore off and the Sun came up. Taste the deliciousness of each day and revel in all that you see and feel. Life is all that we have, and family especially.
@cypherks Hey, I just want to say that your comment really touched me. I'm 22, and I listen to this music from when I was a little kid.. It's timeless, and it has the feeling of youth in it.. It's sad that youth is so short lived, but I guess we can always be young at heart.
@NACROPOSSE perhaps, but anyone who was going out to all nighters back in the 90's would have spent a couple of summers at least driving back in the very early hours with the sun coming up and something like this on. It's a beautiful tune and perfect for softening the early effects of the comedown.Human Traffic was clearly written by people who had been there and come out the other side.
love this so much, i have it on vinyl on a white label, best come down tune in the world after a night on ecstasy, orbital are just amazing, i would love to meet them in real life and have a mix with them, that would be sweet as
Oh my god...many a nite spent out of my face....relaxing and enjoying the tunes and maybe just maybe a bit of u know what......lol....can remember walking down a certain high street totally enjoying where i was...and the people i was with..Belfast was the best time of my life xxxx
This boss back in theday in the back of a mates car after being to a allnighter everyone swapping stories what had happened that night some one always had a random tale getting lost or they just found the best mate in the world ! Little bit older now tune still great as ever made up they are back and touring in 2012
I First heard this song driving back from Reading music festival in my mates car at 2am, coming down from a massive high from drugs and alcohol, and i remember it being such a beautiful perfect 8 minuets watching the motorway lights go past.
I actually did. As a EDM DJ in Florida in the 1990s, I was introduced to the most amazing cross-section of the music, most of which still moves me to this day.
My mom was diagnosed with advanced, metastacized cancer of the throat/lungs and was on a dizzying concoction of pain meds that messed with her mind. When I visited, I would bring ambient CDs (and the like) to play for her while I would brush her hair. She said that no music before made her feel so perfect.
just simply amazing!!! no matter what mood you are in....Belfast by Orbital Always....no Always!!!! Brings a smile to your face and a contentment to your heart......AWESOME.....thank you Orbital!!!!
Was re-watching human traffic the other night and forgot all about this tune being in it, and when i heard it drifting in, I couldnt wipe the fucking smile off me face.

This tune reminds me of driving back to palace Barracks up the A2 in the capola of my Saxon armoured vehicle ten years ago this month. The roads were dead and the sun was slowly rising, we'd spent night after night dealing with serious riots in Belfast - sadly history seems to be repeating itself.

@tonyvincentward Apparently they played this tune at David Holmes club "Sugar Sweet" in Belfast in the early 90s and didn't have a name for it yet. They had the whole place in tears. And so "Belfast" was born. Peace!
Amazing tune! I used to listen to this after a hard night clubbing! It sends shivers down my spine every time, even without the class A's! Rivalled only by Sabres of Paradise, Smokebelch II
i used to be able to walk frm dundalk tu tullyallen for a road racein club meetin 1 tme wit d help of this..that how gud of a tune this is..that was after traveling frm cobh on the the train,in one day.and had to come back the same,
hi there, i have made lyrics to this song, i know it might be seen as a brain fart, or as an attempt to turn this great song into a bag of poo , but i think the lyrics demonstrate what im feeling. maybe you can digg it. , check my channel its just waiting to be hugged, or shredded.
This literally brings tears to my eyes, it's absolutely perfect, the layers, the rising and falling, the beat, the whole thing, there's simplicity, there's complexity, it's beautiful, funky, danceable, chill out, it's so warm and buzzy, it's a journey all the way to the end. And I'm straight right now.
Human Traffic - the car scene! This song also reminds me of driving through the city at 5am with my best friends all hammered, total silence, just this song playing and everyone loving it
you know i have loved this song for so long, i wrote lyrics to it, i know some will hate it , its about a journey to heaven, about these days . I would greatly be honered if you could take a peek on my channel. song is called, be what i wanna be.. i know its a sin but i just found the words laying on top of my brain.
i last heard this tune coming home from orbital gig in manchester 10 years ago. the sun was coming up, the sky was orange and red and blue and purple. I cried with joy. that may have been slightly drug induced though . ;))
Chill.

The piano re-intro at 3:45 offers the ability to simultaneously blow the fuck up, also to start a downward groove.

Perhaps the best electronic song ever? It certainly has to be on the shortlist.
How is it that a song can evoke the same feeling every time one hears it, no matter how many times on has heard it?
As the astute listener above put it, 'this is more than just music.'
It was this song and Massive Attack 'Hymn of the Big Wheel' that I played at my mother's funeral.
You almost have to ask 'why can something feel this good?'
calodo2002 4 months ago

@tonyvincentward Apparently they played this tune at David Holmes club "Sugar Sweet" in Belfast in the early 90s and didn't have a name for it yet. They had the whole place in tears. And so "Belfast" was born. Peace!

Amazing tune! I used to listen to this after a hard night clubbing! It sends shivers down my spine every time, even without the class A's! Rivalled only by Sabres of Paradise, Smokebelch II

hi there, i have made lyrics to this song, i know it might be seen as a brain fart, or as an attempt to turn this great song into a bag of poo , but i think the lyrics demonstrate what im feeling. maybe you can digg it. , check my channel its just waiting to be hugged, or shredded.

I dreamed of this song the other night. It reminds me of my friends back in the Pure days, 1990's Edinburgh. A lot of them are no longer with us.

@annaka1006 brings tears to mine too , as this was a mutual tune with a Best friend that died 5 years ago today :(

Human Traffic - the car scene! This song also reminds me of driving through the city at 5am with my best friends all hammered, total silence, just this song playing and everyone loving it

i last heard this tune coming home from orbital gig in manchester 10 years ago. the sun was coming up, the sky was orange and red and blue and purple. I cried with joy. that may have been slightly drug induced though . ;))
