I imagined myself as the knight in the painting,The Accolade, hearing this song. I missed its heyday but finally bought the CD (remember those?) in '96. The painting, by Edward Blair Leighton, embodies the noblest aspirations which I could summon. The linkage remains and to whom I dedicate these sentiments is still known only to me. I bought a very good repro of the painting and every time I look at it I well-up.
