What is this 2050 business, conventional oil peaked in 2006, and that is from the IEA. Also, overall peak oil is much closer then 2050.

@yourmajezty it all depends on how quickly we use up the oil reserves. At todays rate peak oil will occur before 2100. If the rate at which we use oil slows and we use alternative energy sources we can prolonge the time it will take to reach peak oil. So if we don't start doing something we will hit, it around 2050. But still it doesn't give us alot of time. Whats ur source?
