95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thunb this up, then copy and paste it to least 5 video's. DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK&ROLL DIE
You know, i'm glad to have found Mumford and Sons because i could never find any good acoustic music i had liked. That, and the only music i could come across from people was full of nothing but a bunch WUB WUB WUB!!!
mumford & sons, performing one of their best songs, surrounded by books in a lamp-lit room, yelling out one of the best curse words ever invented, along with marcus mumford's utter sex appeal make this one of the most outstanding videos on the internet.
Amazing!!! Check out an amazing duo called THE SUBJECTIVE PERSPECTIVE. Google em'. They are one of America's HOTTEST and most RAW and sincere duo's surfacing in 2012!!! Figured I'd share this great duo popping up around America now :-) Check out their song Dead Peasant Uprising. Leave them a message if you could. This should be Occupy's anthem :-D
I think it's terrible how they make his voice sound so.. perfect. I love how he sounds live. It actually sounds like someone singing. and i love it. I wish their music wasnt edited its beautiful now :(
Gosh, I'm trying to figure out how he plays the chords here. I figure this is Open D right? Does anyone have any idea how it's done, can't get it to sound anywhere near right.
There no more artists nowadays who get so into their music and lyrics that they cry from what it takes out of them. That is what Mumford & Sons does. Clearly the lyrics means so much to him that it sparks an immediate reaction. Tell me if you see this anymore and ill drop it, but it seems like there are no artists that are in touch with their music as much as Mumford & Sons, and i haven't seen that in a while.
@jonoliver95 i defiantly agree with you 100% but a guy that also has a connection to his music just like these guys are city and colour, when asked if he ever wrote a song to personal to him he didn't release it he replied "no" all his song are about things that have happened to him and people in his life, so close he wrote a song about his parents called "the grand optimist" and even his wife, check him out if you havent already, love this song btw
@jonoliver95 Mumford and Sons are great! I was drawn to them for the feeling they have in their songs as well. I like The Cave probably the most. If you are looking for other similar artists look for Glen Hansard. I think you would really like his music as well as he puts his heart into the songs he writes as well. "Say It Me Now" is a personal favorite of mine. Anyway, just a recommendation. :)
@jonoliver95 Panic! at the Disco is also a really good band in tune with their musical sides.. But where does he cry? That moisture on his cheek is sweat, my friend.
@Allsparkendox you can hear it in his voice, he starts to choke up in the middle of the song. My point is his music really ties into his emotions and it obviously means a lot to him.
@jonoliver95 Well a lot of peoples music ties in with their emotions.. It's usually the main reason people write songs. Derek Sanders (Mayday Parade) really gets into his music. A lot of artists do.
@Allsparkendox i agree with Mayday Parade's Derek Sanders, but my point is not many artists do it anymore, and its not like how it used to be. It should be the way it was, artists should pour everything into their music, and not many do that anymore
I don't think I've ever seen a band get so into their own music before. The reason I feel so much when I hear them play is because I know they are feeling the same things I am. Their music has so much depth, and meaning anyone who doesn't like it, just hasn't been there themselves.
We all claim to be different yet we all identify to this music. Interesting. Maybe we are not all as different as we would like to think. I for one take pride in the fact that I am one of the many many people who are fortunate enough to regard this band as one of the greatest of all time.

No matter what kind of music this band puts out I think they would always be my favorite. They haven't put out a bad song. Everything about thier music is perfect from the fast rythm to the catchy lyrics to the mandolin and guitar harmony, they will always stay in my mind as one of the best Music groups of the 21st century
Hey everyone if you like Mumford and Sons and The Avett Brothers please check out my page. I have some covers and originals I think you would enjoy... Thank you!
this has been in a movie and a tv show all i want to know was what movie because its driving me crazy please some one give me the name of the movie before it kills me
I used to be a library attendant until I was sacked for singing along to this banging tune, while I listened to it on my headphones.
The person who made the complaint, called me a disgrace to the human race.
I now work nightshift unblocking sewers, which might seem a step down in the employment market but no-one tells me to stop singing and the acoustics are very good.
One night I sang to an audience of rats, who gave the impression they had got their moneys worth.
Chills, every time. This song has so much emotion and power in it, and you can hear it from beginning to end. When they're humming (I'll just call it that for lack of a better name other than 'ahh-ing') it's like all of your frustration can be let out right there.
I had a feeling it was something really personal for Marcus. But the band, especially Marcus, is so inspirational for me. They put so much into their music and I'm glad they have started to gain some fame and notoriety and from what I can tell the fame didn't change them.
@vitormoutte you think he is crying because he screwed up a certain note?! lol that would be my furthest guess. they are truly passionate about their music and you can see it. my guess (which is a better one I think) would be that this song has a lot of meaning to him
@MrSavedSuperman Supposedly this song was written by Marcus on his way to a concert, not too long before his marriage had ended. This was they story of how he screwed up and ended up losing the love of his life. A story which I believe we all in one way can relate too....He went on to perform this song at that concert, after the majority had left just himself and a acoustic guitar. It must have been a truly inspiring performance....I have yet to find a recording of the event. OM
I love these guys but I truly believe he was crying in the end 'cause he'd really fucked up the song when he couldn't reach the note.. my guess. But they're still awesome.
@vitormoutte How is it relevant he couldn't reach a certain note? Is music about having a perfect voice like those fucks in talent shows say? or is it about showing your passion for it that touches other so much?
are ya sure those are tears? not sweat? I dont know..just wondering! but yes..passion in music is amazing!! And you can see it in his face as he sings...Love this song! :)
In the beginning I was like 'eww, wtf is this' when i first heard them and now that i have actually listened to it and became lost in the music, I think its one of the most beautiful bands i have come across. Definitely a favorite band of mine.
My best friend Hank Harrison was trying to choose a book, when Mumford and Sons were recording this performance and he told them they were disturbing his reading enjoyment with their loud music.Winston told him, if he didn't stop complaining, he would throw water over him but he darted out of the way and Winston threw it over Marcus instead.Marcus was very angry and called Winston, Churchill.
It's probably sweat from him literally singing his heart out, but you know what - I wouldn't doubt it. Every time I sing this song I cry because I relate to it exactly just as he does.
The passion is so inspiring!

In the beginning I was like 'eww, wtf is this' when i first heard them and now that i have actually listened to it and became lost in the music, I think its one of the most beautiful bands i have come across. Definitely a favorite band of mine.

@ClaireMangoify When you have to say see what i did there.... it defeats the purpose of making a sly funny...

The lead singer looks like he's crying or is that sweat?
jesseman76 2 months ago
@jesseman76
It's probably sweat from him literally singing his heart out, but you know what - I wouldn't doubt it. Every time I sing this song I cry because I relate to it exactly just as he does.
