  • My dad had this song on an old tape recorder, and it's one of the first songs I heard in my life. I liked it more that I could understand. He didn't remember the title, or the singer, or anything about it. I searched for it for 20 years, and I finally found it today. It opens a hidden door in my soul. I cried. Thank you very much. Andrea

  • The original was by Jan and Kjeld, 12 and 14 year old brothers from Copenhagen, Denmark. There's climbed to number 58 on Billboard's Hot 100. It charted 6/6/60 on Kapp 335 and came with a picture sleeve.

  • i only know the VALERIE MASTERS version of this happy little song.

  • I like the beat!!!!

  • We used to sing this with my friends....am 10 again..........Thanks for sharing.

  • I didn't think I'd ever hear the long-lost voice of Dorothy Collins from "Your Hit Parade" again. I play the banjo myself (five-string edition) while trying to adapt it to legacy standards of many years ago, as well folk songs. This really is a delightful ditty, never heard before by me. Thanks so much for uploading it. A deserved five stars. I'm taking the liberty of saving it to my Music Dowloads folder. Cordially, John

  • Thank you most welcome!

  • I got a 45rpm of this wonderful tune, but I couldn't resist giving it a try anyway.

Too bad that these rare gems are just carelessly forgotten by the young ones today. They would help them understand there's a million ways to be happy with no need to go wild on drinks and sex and drugs. That's just the sure way to destroy the good that's within everyone's heart and sooner or later you'll end up like a wretch with hardly a far off hope to get back to manhood/womanhood u were meant to reach.

    THX!

  • bubbleburst-Dorothy Collins. I remember her from the Your Hit Parade tv show .My aunt lived in Babylon.Long Island and knew her a bit.I was fortunate to see her in the musical FOLLIES ON BROADWAY- 1971-72 period. She was fantastic in the role of Sally Plummer. Have you ever heard the cd of that show? She was a great jazz artist-their is a tv show of the Bell Telephone Hour from 1958- she is the main guest-she sings all jazz on it, It is so sad she died in 1994 at such a young age of 68THANKS.

  • After reading your profile, I was amazed to learn how young you were. You, at 22, are much more familiar with the lovely songbirds of the golden 1950s. I live in Japan and love to hear songs of Doris Day, Julie Andrews, Georgia Gibbs and more. It is a great pity that Dorothy is gone now. But her songs will live on; you contribute to making her songs alive. I appreciate your great work.

  • Thank you very much!

  • Jazz has a number of exceptional vocalists. I should have recognized her earlier. Her lovely songs heal me; they are great comforts for everyone throughout the world. Thank you for uploading this precious video.
