  • @hannaxyz123 Ha,ha,ha,ha Same thing I was thinking. LOL But she is very quick with her hand. It seems like a lot of work, but I guess it worth it.

  • It's soooo funny to read all these comments about how this ladies hand almost gets 'crushed' when I used to do it all the time. It's so true anak1 I hate using the powderd version as well! I miss the REAL fufu and kokonte!

  • damn they were pounding it fast and it was like she moving her hand in just enough time not to get hit.

  • Another masterpiece from Africa ''haute cuisine'' eat your heart out, 1 quick way to make a plantain in edible, smash the crap out of it for two hours then call it fufu lol

  • dats nasty shit!

  • does fufu build muscle

  • haha, omg, i remember doing this!

  • Skills, look at how she almost gets her hands crushed everytime...yet remains calm as still water.

  • lol.

  • dis luks lyk a dangerous job... if dat hand is a sec late to move.. its over for her hahaha!!!

  • @90SOA she know way she's doing

  • only on youtube could you find people arguing about ethnicity watching a cooking video. What does it have to do with the price of a cocoyam in Ghana? Get over yourselves...seriously...take a breath! ANYWAY I am here because I am looking for a mortal and pestle for fufu pounding for a friend of mine, any leads? The internet was really no help at all. Can anyone help me out?

  • well i didn't even read the stuff you wrote because probably most of t is shit, i was in ghana for 2 months and it was great.

at 0:11/0:12 you can hear the typical "ahaaa" ;)

  • i have had this fufu meal idk by the way i am west indian as in the carribean so we most likely are descendants of slaves from west Africa many of foods are similar but fufuf another story.

  • Ugh I hate it when someone pounds your hand. Just pounding it makes me not want to eat it anymore.

  • Tell me must the yam and plantain be cooked before it is pounded?

  • @malfini1 yes

  • Ahh i hate it when someone pounds my hand with the thing.

  • yam FUFU with Egusi and dry fish soup...(mangala)

    I miss it sooo much

    Frm 9ja(Nigeria), Igbo style

  • wat the fuck east african cuisine.r u in wonderland

  • Comon bro, you can't say fuck the rest of the Africans, they're your people too! They may not be Somali, but Somalis are African just like any Yoruba, or Zulu, or any other person of the African dispora.

We have to be united as a people, not serprated by religion or culture. If you do that, then we all lose, and it won't make things better in Africa or elsewhere.

  • i see ur point my dear.. but know this the reason i said this is because 2 days agoo from nowhere this christian lightskinned southafrican guy, came to my page and insulting me by calling me Black Muslim slave.. for the arabs.. n im like wat!? you know wat i mean, thats why i payed that fool back by insulting christian africans by saying that their also been slaves for white-christians.. but other than dat, come to my page then u'll see how many people respect me, because im consciouss... Peace

  • It's fucked up he did that, and I'm sorry he did that. I know how it is, but when we pull that "you a slave to the Arabs" or "you're a slave to the white man" shit, then we're actually letting the white man and the Arabs who want us to be separated win. You know? I love all my people no matter what their religion or culture is.

Thanks for the invite bro, appreciate it.:)

  • Yea i know wat you mean, and no need for you to apolagize for some1 u barely know.. so its all good, besides to be honest im a conscious broda i luv all Black people because we're a global people Original man/woman not just in africa, but where everywhere even in Black Australia aka the Black abOriginals thats how far our peoples have migrated from africa, before caucasians and semites even de-evolved to their current state and race.. anyways Hotep my Black Princess.... stay Blessed

  • De-evolved, lol.

    Thanks you too.

  • i agree... i hate when people say the feautures of african ppls are "adaptions" to the climate. kinky hair, broad noses, etc are all ORIGINAL feautures. Straight hair is the true adaption.

  • agreed!!!!!! to infinity and beyond!

  • im scared he might smash her hand.

oh em gee. its so scary watching it.

but we africans know what we're doing.

my mom even touches hot pots sometimes or even the stove when the fire is lit sometimes and it doesnt bother her.

i guess thats how it was growing up in nigeria.

  • God. American fufu SUCKS. I can't stand that nasty (insert word here). UGH. I wana go back home

  • there is american fufu?

  • The equivalent of American fufu is "polenta" which is a corn mush of Italian origin. Mashed potatoes is another version of American fufu. Grits, depending on the viscosity can be called a version of the "American fufu". There is turn-corn/turn cornmeal which the Jamaicans eat.

  • DIS BE DE REAL FUFU!! I miss this, and sick and tired of using the powder-version here in the UK: it just aint the same as the original!! note to anyone who wants to pound fufu the proper way: You need to have a QUICK hand to turn it while you're pounding: you wouldn't want any smashed-hand flavour fufu! lol Kudos to you michaeltwofish for puttin this vid up!!

  • Thanks! You're right about being quick. I was amazed at Harriet's ability to talk to me, looking me in the face, and still keep turning the fufu. She offered to give me a try, but I chickened out.

  • i love fufu

  • U NEED PEANUT SOUP

  • Ahhh...my favorite!!♥

  • I know an American expat living outside Accra who makes her own fufu. It is so good!

At first groundnut (peanut) soup was too much for me... but by the end of my stay I loved it too!

  • Oh my goodness, fufu and peanut soup with chicken!!!! YUMMY!

  • man Ghanaians can eat...I'm part Ghanaian and fufu is a must have n can't forget about my Gari...oh man n some tatale...BOOOOY DONT GET ME STARTED lol. Love this video!!

  • thank you...if u eat that food all ur life, cancer and all these strange sicknesses retreat...fufu the great...get sum palmnut or peanut soup with sum immersed grasscutters..this is wot we call food

  • Thanks for your comment. We ate this fufu with palmnut soup, with crab and coated fish, and it was fantastic. I didn't get to try a grasscutter, but I did see them for sale on the side of the road. They were big buggers :)
