  • i am in tears...

    that was beautiful <3

    KU E!

  • Maika'i no.....mahaaaalo....!

  • It also saddens me that our own people are not educated enough to know that you were not blaming Ke Akua but merely stating how the MISSIONARIES used Ke Akua to change our culture, language, LIFE! Cmon nā kanaka come together and understand what TRUELY happened to our kupuna.

  • Amazing video !! With so much mana'o and love and mana behind your words !! Its sad that people feel the need to give negativity yet we still open our island wth warm aloha. When will people realize that HAOLES took away our beloved aina.

  • Sistah Jamaica, I feel your pain girl. But you are focusing your anger at Christ instead of those who polluted his message. Even the Queen who's the focus of the song you sing was an advent follower of Christ. Her message is the one Hawaiians should follow. If Queen Lili'uokalani was alive today and heard the things that you are saying in this video, she would not applaud.

  • "One by one Ice Pipes began to ignite as Waikiki turned from Brown to White?!?!" So what you're trying to say is that WHITE people went and hypnotized Hawaiians to suck on Ice Pipes, Meth etc?! How ridiculous! Hawaii is said to be the "ICE" capital of the world because it's the LOCALS who do it, WANT to do it, and won't STOP doing it? I don't see White, Chinese, Black, European, Indian folks walking around like zombies on ice? I see local Hawaiians! Lay the blame on who's guilty....LOCALS!

  • jama!!! thats my girl!!!

  • She has a point about hawaii being pilaged but she doesn't have to be a bitch about it, that and hawaii wasn't forced to become a state, they chose.

  • @DarkJudger Obviously you know very little about Hawaii's history.

  • @Vaowea That is something I agree with you.

  • @DarkJudger Umm, YES she does need to be a bitch about it! That's exactly what happened to the Hawaiian government when it was "annexed" i.e. "stolen" and made into a U.S. territory. Read a history book or watch a PBS documentary on the topic.

  • @DarkJudger Hawaii WAS forced to become a state... It was overthrown. The Hawaiian people had no choice... seriously, do some research before you say anything :p

  • Jamaica, you make me proud to be Hawaiian.

  • @Candidcommonsense How can we (Hawaiians) blame our ancestors? Before the "white man" came to Hawaii, there was no such thing as money, monotheism, or ownership of land. I understand that the missionaries and the US in general has given Hawaii so much - but it's also important to understand that Hawaiians really were taken advantage of because it was all blind trust. And it WAS an overthrow of the monarchy. The US even addressed it as one. Oh, and this young lady is Stanford and Hawaii educated.

  • there is religion and there may be god, I have never felt or seen him, but I have seen what moslems, jews and christians have done in the name of god, need I say more?

Pilgrims and Conquistadores, Mousad and AlQaeda are just an example...

  • What's she described here is just how it was in Africa. When the colonialists came, they drilled in us that our culture was barbaric, crude, evil and that we should be more like them. Well, we blindly followed. What did the culture bring us? Drugs. HIV/AIDS coz of all the adulterous relationships they idolize and so much more. We still try and emulate them but try as we may, they still look down on us.

  • Her voice just gives me chicken skin... I found this when my Hawaiian Teacher showed it to me.. i cried..

  • beautiful and heart wrenching with pure truth. major chicken skin. speak out sistah. speak out.

  • i love the debate Jamaica's created with this, even here in the comments.

the poet did her job. <3

  • @Candidcommonsense

debt had absolutely nothing to do with the overthrow, annexation or statehood of hawaii. i suggest you read, act of war, native land foreign desires, or dismembering the lahui. educate yourself, it is the only way to freedom.

  • I love that there is no clapping during her poem, I feel like the clapping ruins the essence and disturbs the poet's flow that they got going on

  • Don't reply to my comment. Don't argue with strangers...it's childish. but again great poem.

  • Snap Snap SNAP GIRL!!!! EO HAWAI'I!!!! Cheeeeeehu.

  • Well said, @Ollieramin

  • amazing poem filled with truth and passion, and an excellent poem written with absolute truth.

to those defending christianity: whether or not you choose to believe it christian missionaries shoved religion down MANY cultures throats and broke down the peoples beliefs and tongues. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Christian missionaries did it to north american natives as well. so before you defend christians, think about all the cultures that were BRUTALLY killed by them. So much for love huh?

  • @snd263 When it comes to Christianity 90% of them are fake 10% are real. I met a lot of them that a lot are fake and real. I'm a Christian and i love everyone.I don't judge as long u don't lie to me or betray me.Judging us Christians as one like we are bad is not right to me. Every Christian heart is different some good and some bad.

  • god like their diseases... dayumm O.o

  • whose this?

  • lol "spread god like their diseases."

  • Let's not overcomplicate this. Sanford Dole grew sugar. Tariffs implemented in the US made it difficult to sell said sugar for the same profit. Sanford Dole lobbied with the US for aid in annexation. Economic and military gains. That's why Hawaii was annexed. How, involves the Bayonet Constitution, the death of the queen's husband, and a terrible man who's first name is Lorrin, but I forget his last. Let a young Hawaiian express her feelings. She's right.

  • @Candidcommonsense I tried hard not to respond to this insane post. You have so much to learn regarding the World Bank. America has never given anything to anyone without stipulations. Allow this artist to express hew viewpoint regarding the demise of her country and culture without being harassed by someone that surely follows the media blindly. She speaks the truth as it is in her world. If you have not stood in her shoes STFU. Stop spreading negativity. It's bad for your Karma.

  • @Candidcommonsense you also need to understand the how HI became to indebted to this country, it was after years of corrupt dealings with HI's government which had already been a victim to imperialism via Japan.

  • Dont blame christianity, blame the sick people who were christians and their mindset but not the religion in all. But yes it is sad that the cultures were destroyed "The wicked carry us away captivity, require from us a song,

How can we sing King Alpha's song in a strange land?"

  • Religion has caused a lot of mayhem...countries and people disenfranchised and decimated in it's guise..slavery, colonisation..AFRICA is worst hit

  • Love watching her and her slam poetries....Hawaii will always be Hawaii in the hearts of the kanaka ma Oli....never will we forget our roots....there are ways that we can bring our culture back...it will just take a lot of time...KU 'E ONIPA'A 'EA...

  • Listening to poets like her makes me really open my eyes. She's speaking deep, though some ignorant people may take offence to what she's saying or implying, the fact is that they don't understand that this is a form of true heart felt expression and I humbly respect her for speaking her voice. Beautiful poem and it was heart felt

  • @00wolfsbane Why Britain? US was an opressor in this case

  • AMAZING...

  • Powerful and beautiful. (: But I don't believe that the culture has destroyed in the name of Christianity, it was what man thought Christianity was. I don't believe my God, would let something like that happen. It wasn't Christianity...It was man. And I extremely ignorant to this situation and now I know and its terrible.

  • She said FAMOUS are the children of Hawai'i Ever loyal to the land.

We back Lili'ulani our queen to protect these islands from what has happend by the westerners. This was the most awesomeest poem about my island I have watched to this day. I am proud to say I am from Hawaii and I have always been.

  • What did she say in hawaiian?

  • To the person that wrote this poem. Although I do not support hating god or blaming Christianity for what happen to Hawaii, this poem did inspire me to research the subject and I am no longer ignorant to the truth like so many people are. A simple internet search using the search term" Hawaii is not legally a state" turned up more then enough prof in my eyes to show America was wrong and has been wrong. For anyone who thinks that this is not true You are ignorant like I was Go educate your self.

  • @nateneedto She wusnt hating God or blaming Christianity . But she is expressing that doing acts in the name of Christianity when they are unjust , its wrong

  • @nateneedto Jamaica believes in God and though I can't speak on her behalf, I think what she means when she's "hating on god or blaming Christianity" is that the "haoles" (foreigners) used religion to take advantage of Hawaiians and "kill our culture". Just a thought/interpretation. :)

  • @erahch00 Then she should have said that. Queen Lili'uokalani would not stand by Jama on this video.

  • @catsgotyoutongue21 Writing beautiful poetry that speaks to millions IS doing something about it.

  • @catsgotyoutongue21 peaceful protest is putting yourself in the way for violent protests. if you've seen violence in cairo, egypt, you know just because YOU are peaceful doesn't mean the opposing side will be. At any sign of revolution a person should know that there is the chance for violence. using your words IS standing up, someone will hear you, and may not try to take you life because of it. Ghandi was a martyr, with his lead anyone in the world can lead a peaceful protest...

  • @maiyasiedah "Ghandi was a martyr, with his lead anyone in the world can lead a peaceful protest..." exactly lead a peaceful protest GO DO. I can sit here and complain all day about how i've been wronged but unless I go do something about it my words mean nothing.

  • @catsgotyoutongue21 Poetry is not complaining, it IS speaking out. Just as well as a protest is.

  • @catsgotyoutongue21 Poetry is peaceful protest . and Great expression that inspires others . Just Look at this comments List , Many people have been made aware to educate themselves about this topic ; Me included .

  • god-forsaken is a common phrase and does not necessarily mean the poet believes in the christian moseic god. get over your bitchy ass self. some people don't believe in god. i certainly don't. i think it's a bunch of crap. but you're opinion is your opinion.

  • Damm I Love Her ! Transcending Truth Within Her Grasp !

  • what was on her shirt???

  • @goodgb443 pry just a logo that HBO didn't want to pay for

  • if the people of hawaii feel so oppressed and hurt then why do they not band together? We have seen countless times throughout history people coming together to make a change. Instead of idly sitting and complaining about how wronged you are get up and do something about it...start protesting create a movement. Actions speak louder than words.

  • @catsgotyoutongue21 when you can't act, words are all you have. revolution calls for bloodshed, and that's not something everyone is ready for.

  • @maiyasiedah revolution does not always call for bloodshed...for example the people of india peacefully resisted english rule with the leading of ghandi...he did the same thing in south africa also...the same goes for the civil rights movement which i would call a revolution it was peaceful protesting and such

  • @catsgotyoutongue21 I support idea of organizing and protesting. But: Do you think that almighty USA would let Hawaii to secede and regain independance? I don't think so - there would be National Guard or Marines sent and blood shed. I'm just very curious how would mainstream propaganda look like if such situation takes place?

  • @catsgotyoutongue21 We have banded together and as the years progress, we ARE reviving our culture little by little. But at the same time, after so many years of being westernized it's hard to even remember what it's like to be Hawaiian. It's hard to keep the culture alive after we've become so dependent on America. More so, the Hawaiian population continues to dwindle. There aren't that many of us and a majority of us are diluted - mixed with so many other ethnicities. We do protest, btw.

  • @catsgotyoutongue21 That would be like saying, "If the American Indian feels so oppressed and hurt, then why don't they not band together?" It's simple: We were ROBBED of our land that is now incorporated into the United States. You think the U.S. government would just "give" it back to us like they would give the U.S. back to the Native Americans and Mexicans that this land belonged to originally.

  • Chur tu meke mah nesian! Tautoko to korero kotiro.. Tuturu tangata o te pasifika. Kia Kaha nga tangata o Hawaii me Aotearoa Maori!!

  • No true freedom fighter desires to keep a queen in power.

Singing praises to a monarch? That is not the sign of someone who understands personal freedom.

  • No true freedom fighter desires to keep a queen in power

Singing praises to a monarch? That is not the sign of someone who understands personal freedom.

  • lessee.....

the lives that the U.S. ruined

    japanese

    muslims

    hawaii

    african american

    chinese

I'm not sure about koreans but wat the hell, they can join too.

    mexicans

  • @mangafreek3295 The japanese ruined the hawaiians first.

  • @mangafreek3295 You forgot Puertoricans, six years ago the FBI killed Filiberto Ojeda Rios It gives chills to think what they would have done to George Washington, They both wanted independence for their nation, at any cost, but GW caused more damage than FOR

  • @mangafreek3295 Yup, Koreans too, Korean War aka "Police Action".1950-1953

  • The movie Over the hedge it is a story of La Patria, We have a turtle which is the only smart one in the whole bunch, always worrying about the well being of the group, he happens to be green... the overactive neorican squirrel all action no thinking, the naive bunch puertorricans with a lot of potential but no "babilla" and the cuban racoon, a selfish, traitor that did not appreciate those who offered him a family and a home and a bear (or maybe an eagle) that pulls the strings of the racoon.

  • I have not ever heard the voice of god or Christ, except through the mouth of others and I wonder if it really is Jesus speaking or someone else saying what is convenient to him or her and what serves their interests like the pharisees did.

  • you will watch Over the Hedge with different eyes now. Then there's Puerto Rico being absorbed with the help of the rotten cuban exile and the FBI, When will this stop? One hundred and ten years of struggle for our small nation to survive is way too long.

  • The sad thing about this "slammer" is that she's got it ALLLLL wrong. She speaks about the wrong that has happened to Hawai'i and I agree totally with her. But then she includes Queen Liliuokalani, then starts blaspheming The Lord God Almighty. The very God that the Queen HERSELF told her loyal Hawaiian subjects to worship. The more Hawaiians turn their back on Jesus Christ, the more they'll NEVER achieve what they strive to perpetuate.

  • @JohnnyJJSantiago That not correct. The Hawaiians and every other Polynesian culture was FORCED to accept Christianity or they would be killed. Queen Liliuokalani realized this early on and didn't want genocide to ensue, thus she told them to accept Christianity so they would be spared from suffering and eventual death.

  • @cwell510 WRONG!....They were not forced and you're just too stupid to realize that!

  • @JohnnyJJSantiago dude... to overthrow something is pretty much forced... its not like they said " hey Americans why don't you come on our land and take it? oh no it's fine just take the queen's place..."

  • @JohnnyJJSantiago the more you try to force your christos on us, the more I will fight him and his lies.

  • @katwoolfy you sound ignorant!..this slammer comes against God and yet she says "This GOD forsaken country!"

  • @katwoolfy the more you try to fight the more tangled you will become.

  • @JohnnyJJSantiago Thou shall not kill, but, I will kill you in the name of GOD, moslems, jews and christians will do this, your only sin is not to agree with MY religion, Watch "Religulous" a Bill Maher documentary in HBO and see how these Mosaic religions embarrass themselves every time they open their mouths. Why is this god of love and his followers so murderous? The Jihad, The Cruzades, The hanging of Jesus, The protestant Reform, The Inquisition, The Pilgrims, Salem Witch hunt and so on...

  • @rebelcharlie Bill Maher is who you use to back your game?! LOLOLOLO what a loser RETARD!

  • @JohnnyJJSantiago Well of course, Bill Maher is smarter than you, that's why everyone calls you retard, it bothers you so much that you call everyone else a retard, so they can feel your pain, that is easy to see. Read the Statement of Apology to the People of Hawaii, issued by US Congress after the "The True History of Hawaii" special was aired on cable tv, educate yourself you FOOL, see, I did not call you a retard, if offends those who suffer that condition.

  • @rebelcharlie okay RETARD! To put Bill Maher as someone that you look up to only shows me the intelligence you have which is probably that of a pimple. Just because you saw something on TV you take it at face value?!?! You talk like an idiot FOOL so please stay out of this conversation because the more you type the more retarded you seem.

  • @JohnnyJJSantiago Wow there Johnny, when everyone on this thread thinks that you are a complete douche then there must be some truth to that. I think that you need to keep taking your meds and stay out of grown ups conversations.

  • @cwell510 Please stop proving how much of a waterhead you are and get back on the short yellow bus because you obviously think that your insults hurt me which I actually find quite hilarious! I love it when bafoons like you show your entertainment value.

  • @rebelcharlie Hey bro, this Johnny JJ Santiago doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. He's just a troll that has no knowledge of what he is talking about.

  • @cwell510 and rebhole charlie is probably a redneck who hasn't bathed in weeks because he couldn't pay the rent on his trailer park home. He has no knowledge of what he THINKS he knows about Hawaiian Culture.........so you're in good company.

  • @rebelcharlie just the fact that you call Bill Maher smart shows me that your intelligence level is probably that of a fecal corn.

  • @rebelcharlie you know how stupid you sound brah! Bill Maher did a stand up routine in Vegas and talked about how stupid Hawaiians call vegas the 9th Island, then he went and said that's what you get from the thinking of natives!? You stupid brah if you back one haole like dat! @JohnnyJJ no worry braddah these guys razzing you are nothing but haole's or wannabewaiians!

  • @rebelcharlie eh Haole! stay off of Hawaiian subjects cause you sound stupid!

  • @rebelcharlie Brah, you sound STUPID! stay off of this video post because you are not Hawaiian and if you were I'd be ashamed of you. Go back to Iran, Iraq, or wherever you came from that teaches you to sound so stupid.

  • @JohnnyJJSantiago Stupid little Youtube TROLL! Get off of here and read a history book for once and quit bringing "God" and "Christ" into this. You're obviously an ignorant little boy who gets off on calling others "wrong". Get a life, go do some research, and pray for forgiveness.

  • @cwell510 Hey Retard! first YOU need to get a history book because you are proving your ignorance more and more each time you open your uneducated mouth. I mention things due to what was said in the video so if you can't stand the heat! Stay out of the kitchen little boy....(or girl). Now go get a life, go do some research and stay out of arguments that you can't handle.

  • i am NOT hawaian. but i do feel her pain. I'm black and native american. I cried the first time i heard this poem because this happened to my culture as well. and her family is deffinately stronger than myne was because i dont even knoe the language. this poem is BEAUTIFUL.!

    -KEEP SINGING JAMAICA.!

  • What can an Irish boy say? I grew up in California. I speak American. I understand the message but I can't feel anything from it.

  • @ifeelrelaxed You can say that your country was taken over by the english by forces same as Scotland, and then there is William Wallace. Do you know who he was?

  • @rebelcharlie Sounds familiar. Prolly something I learned in History class.

  • @ifeelrelaxed William Wallace led the scottish armies against the invading english armies and lost, and now it is called Great Britain, now the IRA is still fighting for irish independence. If you ever have a chance, watch The true History of Hawaii from The History Channel, you`d be surprised at what you will find there.

  • @rebelcharlie oh that's right. I saw a movie on the founding of the IRA. Gotta love guerilla tactics..

  • @ifeelrelaxed By the way the movie on the usurpation of the scottish homeland is called Braveheart, with Mel Gibson. Right now, Hollywood will not dare make a film on the lies that led to the Spanish-American war, the usurpation of most of the Mexican territories like California, Texas, Nevada or Colorado (Where do you think those Spanish names come from?) People will always find an excuse to do what they want as long as there are people who will find an excuse to look the other way.

  • @rebelcharlie Spanish names? Pft, I already knew that cuz I took 3rd grade in a half-poor bilingual school.

Not all of America is blind. C'mon give people credit.

  • This is hard for me to watch.

She's a great performer with such a strong, true message. But I grew up white in Hawai'i. And while her message is so heartfelt, it breeds so much cruel prejudice. I am white, but should I be blamed in the 21st century?

Maybe if everyone in Hawai'i could see this amazing girl's performance, there could be more understanding for the Hawai'i culture and less hate for Caucasians.

  • @cannonalexandra I agree with you to a certain extent, you will watch Over the Hedge with different eyes now. Then there's Puerto Rico being absorbed with the help of the rotten cuban exile and the FBI, When will this stop? One hundred and ten years of struggle for our small nation to survive is way too long.

  • @cannonalexandra its disrespect, cuz u garantee didnt come here for the real hawaii. Wen people come in the loads to Hawaii and change it not embrace the culture then there is somtin wrong. whites shouldnt be blamed but dont get head high becuz u guys been told alot thru media that u guys are best thing that happen to this world which is lie. n they call it the good ol days for a reason. so chill wit the 21st century stuff.n whites were never degraded, ur perspective is diff.

  • As A Hawaiian I Know Exactly How This Baby Girl Feels !

  • As A Hawaiian I Know Exactly How She Feels : (

  • she reminds me of kristen stewart a little bit. am i the only one?

  • tooo beautiful :(

    made me cry

africa knows your suffering Jamaican :)

  • you rock honey!!!!

  • i hear her but she is putting blame on Christianity which is not where it belongs. Americans did this to us in the name of Christ. but it is not Christ who is to blame. open your mind a little further. it is Jesus' story that makes this even more powerful standing up for truth.

  • @joffrey001 unfortunately most of what was done was done in "gods name" look at the journals. its even worse with spaniards during the conquest of the americas.

the line "because CHRIST said we couldn't dance..." is supposed to be ironic to show how absolutely stupid/absurd the missionaries were. its not blaming christ- but a large part of the downfall of hawaii was due to missionaries. "manifest destiny" and the "white mans burden" are both rooted religious thought and preachings.

  • @joffrey001 ...That of course is not to say that you are a theft/colonialist if you are christian but the institution itself is and that something that all christians/non christians should be aware of. we are all a part of institutions that do fucked up things but its our responsibility to not be ignorant of that and do our part to steer ourselves in the proper direction.

  • @joffrey001 Hawaiians did not believe in Christ or Christianity when it was first introduced to the natives. The blame doesn't go to Christianity the religion but to the people who forced the Hawaiians and every other Polynesian culture to accept it as the only one religion.

  • I love this poem so much <3

  • e ola mau na pua!!!!!! this was awesome and i LOVE it!!! btw, HAWAI'I is the 50th STATE to you mr. "prove me wrong" who did not know! ...aue no ho'i ka no'ono'o ana i na kanaka HAOLE!

  • Phenomenal

  • This is soooo MAYJAH !!!! But u aint full Hawaiian cuz da pure ones is darker , u Hoale nd Hawaiiian , but this is good , really really really nice !!!! I understand this nd its true , I'm Hawaiian btw !!! P. S Thank you for sending da missionaries to Hawaii for stealing our culture nd locking up our queen nd not even giving her any games or cards or whisky to play or drink but thanks for giving her a pen and paper so she can write the Queen's song ( I meant da P.S in a Sarcasim way ) Dueces :)

  • Im Hawaiian currently living in Hawaii. Got to see Jamaica perform today.

  • chicken skin brah.

  • The Hawaiian's history mirrors that of the Indians...I know her pain and loss.

  • heh heh january 17th is my b-day ;3

  • @FAKENMAD What do you mean Boo?

  • Deep. Thank you for sharing!!!! GET FREE POET!!!! Appreciate your voice :)

  • this gave chills

  • blame Christianity...

  • @SexDrugsPistol69 blame stubbornness

  • @SexDrugsPistol69

don't take people's self accountability away from them. Christianity is not an entity. It does not have hands, or weapons. It can not take people's lives. WE do those things. don't blame christianity when the blood is on our own hands. Because what will u do when you have blamed EVERYTHING else except ourselves? will you throw away everything just to pretend that people are innocent?

    just a thought...

  • This happened in African countries too. Sad that our cultures were destroyed in the name of civilization and Christianity. Great poem!

  • @blkbeaute this happened to every nation that isnt white ..

  • That was incredible.

  • im hawaiian. and my grandparents told me a story about this.

  • Hawaiian here :] this is exactly how my grandparents and great-grandparents expressed their feelings. I love this. I like the USA I just wished they'd give back to all those who have loss so much

  • Why is her name Jamaica?

  • @cooliebwoy415 the only person that knows is her mom, the one who named her, yes?

  • i agree i am hawaiian i understand the undermining of the hawaiian culture and religion

  • Havaii is Kawaii. LOL

  • This is beautiful...and sad, but unfortunately it is true. Personally, I try to let everyone walk their own path (provided it doesn't harm others).

flippinup, I just have to say that it really is a beacon of stupidity when you judge all Americans (whites) by their color or where they come from.

  • This was beautiful

  • this is beautiful. this girl's an amazing writer, wish i coudl write something this passionate.

  • SOOKI- Dont forget whos land that really was. Native Americans. And I do know how you Hawaiians feel.

  • damn straight. america has no culture thats why they don't understand anything about the way we feel. Americans are made up of germans, polish, irish, etc. NOT americans.

  • exactly, and if you are born here and not white they call you African americans or Native Americans ot Chinese Americans ect. i think American's (white) are stupid.

  • @flippinup you say that now. but do you realise that when you do in fact say that and leave it there for all to see youre just passing the same judgement that others pass on you. and that your just lowering yourself to the level of your "stupid (white) americans"?

  • @viralyinfectious ok, i get what you are saying. i do not mean stupid as in that manner. stupid as in ignorant which just means not educated in that. it's just like i am ignorant in what it takes to be a lawyer or president. sorry to have offended anyone.

  • it ALL started with Capt. cook..all you Americans should understand that Hawaii was FREE of DISEASE..you hear?...FREE. You did this to the africans, Native Indians, and now you are trying to do it to the middle east....you ran USA so far up your throats that now they invade other countries to steal their resources..I cant believe it took this amazing video for me to realize..U.S.A. are the REAL terrorists making their own ppl think otherwise..AND FYI, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "AMERICAN CULTURE"

  • @MAUI567 you speak the truth that no one wants to hear but NEEDS to....thank you--i am nigerian and i write poetry bout these issues all the time--and you said some great stuff as did jamaica

  • Hey why don't demand independance. Chnaces are non-existent but to only provoke US government political reaction. If I'm not wrong demographics in Hawaii show that ethnic Hawaians are in minority am I right? So you've got white elite and white majority so it would be very difficult to regain independent Kingdom of Hawaii then. Feel pity for your lost sovereignity and culture.

  • daaaaaaamn.. she DID that

checkk her out that was deeep

  • Christ said you can't? or the Europeans? smh

  • the Europeans said that our song and dance were sacrilege based off their interpretation of the bible and the gospel. so yes in a sense if his missionaries who were sent to do "his will" as his voice said we couldnt dance or chant. its not supposed to degrade go its degrading the way in which he is taught. its supposed to be ironic.

  • She makes me PR0UD to be Hawaiian(: Cheee'huu!

  • Because of her, I'm proud to be Hawaiian.

  • yo, this hot

  • That is really inspiring.

Now i am not Hawaiian but i get the message here and i LOVE it.

  • i was shocked when i first watched this video

i created this account because i just HAD to comment on this

    its so touching, and inspiring

  • We watched this in my Cultural Studies class today & I was awed by it. My professor is a key witness for the Hawaiian nation for International law! I hope that our government does the right thing!

  • love this! IMUA!!!

  • Right on! Me ka hana ana!

  • a real eye-opener.

  • Powerful message Jamaica - strong message for Hawaiian women - strong message for all. Keep going...

  • Great good work Jamaica,

This message is so important. Keep putting it out!

I'm linking this up to my blog.

    Tamam Kahn

i cried in the first glance of this video..u r speaking what u r thinking and what u r speaking is greatest truth in this earth still facing imperialism,,,what made u speak is search for dignity and justice,,

revolution is solution for every pollution

my fist will always be raised 4 u.

    down with imperialism

  • Wow.
