I gave a bid on a commercial job for a remodeling co. re-doing a bar in a Chili's resaurant. My first bid like this. I had to bid with the need for T.A.B. (N.E.B.B.), materials/labor (just two diffusers added on existing trunk w/ two caps for closed run), and inspector. I did not think or know of anything else I may have needed. Is there anything else you know of Fritz?
Damn. I hope they had insurance. The place I'm working at now recycles old fridges. We go behind at ran out of space inside so we put about 30 units out back, the next day when we came back they had been stripped, they even took out the evaporator coils. We didn't make a big stink about it as they were junk but to steal somebodies heat pump is just plain wrong. Methheads.
@fritzhvac Maybe they did the owner a favor in a small way. Here in Seattle they like to steal guard rails and just about anything not nailed down. Catalytic converters on cars are a hot item. They hurt when you have to replace them too. Another is the copper ground lines for sensors at railroad crossing. The arms go down and stay down just in time for morning rush hour. We need to find an island to put these people on.
It to bad they didn't fall off the ladder getting off the roof. I don't mind changing a unit if it's bad but I hate changing one out cause it's been stolen.

Hey Fritz, it's good to see you busy, but a shame it has to be because of cooper thieves. My wife works for a law firm, and they give us info on alot of cases. If these guys or gals get caught judges around the country will make a example of them, I will assure you. You are correct fritz aluminum isn't any safer. I'm surprised I haven't heard about any-kind of security device like a car alarm type system that'd make alot of dang noise or added be a part of a security system for your home to add on to the protected units. But I'm pipe dreaming probably. To many things to think about like power interruptions etc and cutting wires too. But hmmm not impossible just never hear about it. I think they need some Kind of Motion Detector Camera to set off a Alarm when Someone moves around the Units,something tweaked were a Dog or Cat or Bird ain't gonna set off,or at least alert you to Look at your Screen when Motion is Detected !!!

Not far from where I am at they stole 5 feet of copper off of an oil tank outside, left the valve open and the cleanup involved under mining the garage that was attached to the house for starters. It took over 3 months to correct. Cost hundreds of thousands for the sake of $4.

Seeme to be happening every where, local village has had not phones for nearly two weeks after 1000m of overhead cable was stolen!
There is talk of stopping cash payments at the scrap yards so only traceable people can weigh stuff in.
I remember finding a near new Fujitsu window unit at the scrap yard, it had a neat little hole cut in the side so they could reach in and cut the lines off the compressor. would have been no more than $2 worth of copper!
Man I guess we will have to have Camera's on Every Telephone Poll , and Alarm Systems on everybody's Units , because of Excrement like this !!!
