The only thing that I could see that was totally WRONG, was the infinite's that could be done with both Middle punch, and kick. As far as the power charging, and air dashing back and forth, that was meant to be that way! And it ain't going anywhere! It was never meant to be MVC accurate. Only the chain combos, hyper moves, and hyper portraits. Parrying was meant to be there to! It called blending styles to make a new one. If you don't like it, stir clear of it! But it ain't changing...
He is right though, i dont have the damage dampering in them & that is very well needed. And i like how the has stated things, he is just speakin his mind, he isnt cussing people out or anything, he is making valid points and for that i respect his comments. When i made these, i never was striving for 100%accurancy, i added what I wanted 2 but if me fixing everything u guys have stated makes the character better, i'm all 4 it. It surprises me the fact that there are people who defend this patches.
If you make a MvC patch, you're giving the characters the MvC mechanics and removing the previous ones, not mixing it with their already existing mechanics - ie. parry, Alpha counter, EX moves, etc.
Also, the loosy combo system with no damage dampening isn't MvC-esque, you know.
It doesn't need anyone to be a Mugen creator to catch those details. Just someone who's played enough fighting games to catch such big flaws.

Well, if you find them fun to use, good for you. I don't and knowing of fighting games and of conversions/edits of characters in Mugen, it's still strange for me to see this as an enjoyable patch because of the whole things I've said.

Of course you're not! But that's why we have people like POTS! Sometimes I like to throw the rules out of the window, and just scrap!! Believe it or not, although any button masher could play like this, you do have to have skill to play the guys I know. Half the time, we don't even use the hypers much. It's more about the combos. The hypers are usually used at a point where you already know you've won, just to make it look good at the end of a fight.
All that infinite combo shit that you guys were trying to show, NOBODY ACTUALLY PLAYS LIKE THAT! Me and my friends have enough respect as players to NOT do that shit to one another! In all honesty, these patches made Mugen fun to me again! I don't give two shits about perfection/accuracy all the time. It's about having fun with my friends at work. Without proper "accuracy" and "balance", you're gonna get bored using such broken characters. There's no actual challenge, just mash the same buttons over and over, and you win.
Trust me man, I know where you're coming from on that, but that's why I have 3 different Mugen games. The completely accurate one, with mostly CVS and KOF styled characters. The MK one, that uses all motion captured characters because I hate mixing them with toons. And the MVC styled one that I have now. The guys at work ain't thinking about accuracy. They're combo junkies! And so am I! Believe it or not, we have some awesome fights! None of us are button mashers man, we know what we're doing...
Well for "combo junkies" their ideas of combo's are very repetitive. Just mash the same two buttons over and over = infinite. Then you have combo's that make no sense like Yamazaki's command grab super being able to grab opponents in the mid-air, which is impossible in every game he's ever been in.
Really, these patches just ruin what (usually) were perfectly fine characters. They aren't even true MvC mechanics or gameplay.

If not, and they just wanna see something they've never seen before, I put on the MVC. Most people seem to like that one better, so that's what we end up playing...

The only thing that I could see that was totally WRONG, was the infinite's that could be done with both Middle punch, and kick. As far as the power charging, and air dashing back and forth, that was meant to be that way! And it ain't going anywhere! It was never meant to be MVC accurate. Only the chain combos, hyper moves, and hyper portraits. Parrying was meant to be there to! It called blending styles to make a new one. If you don't like it, stir clear of it! But it ain't changing...

It surprises me the fact that there are people who defend this patches.
If you make a MvC patch, you're giving the characters the MvC mechanics and removing the previous ones, not mixing it with their already existing mechanics - ie. parry, Alpha counter, EX moves, etc.
Also, the loosy combo system with no damage dampening isn't MvC-esque, you know.
It doesn't need anyone to be a Mugen creator to catch those details. Just someone who's played enough fighting games to catch such big flaws.

Well, if you find them fun to use, good for you. I don't and knowing of fighting games and of conversions/edits of characters in Mugen, it's still strange for me to see this as an enjoyable patch because of the whole things I've said.
But even if I dislike this kind of patches and rage with some of them, I respect anyone who uses them. I was just saying what I think, that's all. :P

Of course you're not! But that's why we have people like POTS! Sometimes I like to throw the rules out of the window, and just scrap!! Believe it or not, although any button masher could play like this, you do have to have skill to play the guys I know. Half the time, we don't even use the hypers much. It's more about the combos. The hypers are usually used at a point where you already know you've won, just to make it look good at the end of a fight.

Trust me man, I know where you're coming from on that, but that's why I have 3 different Mugen games. The completely accurate one, with mostly CVS and KOF styled characters. The MK one, that uses all motion captured characters because I hate mixing them with toons. And the MVC styled one that I have now. The guys at work ain't thinking about accuracy. They're combo junkies! And so am I! Believe it or not, we have some awesome fights! None of us are button mashers man, we know what we're doing...

Well for "combo junkies" their ideas of combo's are very repetitive. Just mash the same two buttons over and over = infinite. Then you have combo's that make no sense like Yamazaki's command grab super being able to grab opponents in the mid-air, which is impossible in every game he's ever been in.
Really, these patches just ruin what (usually) were perfectly fine characters. They aren't even true MvC mechanics or gameplay.

Thats why they arent fixed, & iwasnt mad at anyone 4 saying they didnt like it. I love how you use the already invalid "YOU HAVEN'T MADE ANYTHING YOURSELF" argument when you haven't really made anything. You are nothing more than an editor. Being an editor myself, I am more than on your level. You obviously don't know how MVC works well enough considering that the combos exhibited show that you know absolutely NOTHING about the concept of damage dampening. It's one of the most important elements of MVC and pretty much any fighting game in general.

I edit MUGEN stuff for my own enjoyment and only mine with the sole exception of Kung Fu Man and my upcoming full Charlotte character conversion. I know EVERYTHING about what I'm talking about. At least I know Marvel vs Capcom has damage dampening. Tengu may not have created anything, but he can still see where you fucked up so by your logic, Tengu knows what he's talking about more than you.
