I don't think there is much of a comparison of who the better dancer is, considering MJ's training, depth & experience. Hammer sticks to his fun style, high energy & funky. MJ's dancing is more diverse.

Hammer was really good and powerful at dancing,but MJ is definetly far more technical,stylish and accurate.
While Mc was more gymnic and maybe a bit more spontaneous,but overall some bit too much repetitive with his movements and sometime also little comical.
Also MCH never changed his facial expression while dancing.Instead Michael performs with all the body,and express his grit also with his typical,several gazes.
personally, I like both of them. MJ had his style but he got his moves from the street dancer like Hammer and put his own style to it. Hammer is the bomb. James is original. Both MJ and Hammer got their moves from him.

@xPurpleRayne. Mikes freelance dancing had been studied copied & done to death for decades before Hammer showed up on the scene. Mike was good enough to hang with any pros that he worked with. If Mike wanted he could mimick anything Hammer threw down. That wouldn't be the case for Hammer. He might pull off some of Mikes moves fluently but then put him with the group of dancers you see Mike with 28 seconds into this video and the lack of skill / versatality would become painfully obvious.

MC HAMMER best dancer eva hands down michael is choreography and does the same moves over an over throughout all his shows (robot and moonwalk are his only impressive dances)

Hammer was really good and powerful at dancing,but MJ is definetly far more technical,stylish and accurate.
While Mc was more gymnic and maybe a bit more spontaneous,but overall some bit too much repetitive with his movements and sometime also little comical.
Also MCH never changed his facial expression while dancing.Instead Michael performs with all the body,and express his grit also with his typical,several gazes.

personally, I like both of them. MJ had his style but he got his moves from the street dancer like Hammer and put his own style to it. Hammer is the bomb. James is original. Both MJ and Hammer got their moves from him.

personally I feel michael won, only because of the spirit of the dance, mc hammer's dances are an actualy style of dance, whereas michaels was just a random movement he felt like doing at the time, it came from his heart and soul

@xPurpleRayne. Mikes freelance dancing had been studied copied & done to death for decades before Hammer showed up on the scene. Mike was good enough to hang with any pros that he worked with. If Mike wanted he could mimick anything Hammer threw down. That wouldn't be the case for Hammer. He might pull off some of Mikes moves fluently but then put him with the group of dancers you see Mike with 28 seconds into this video and the lack of skill / versatality would become painfully obvious.

i'll agree MJ was a better dancer but real people who respect and know real music cannot hate on hammer. He was jst as good and far better than any dancer today the only thing that killed him was that he tried to help more people than he could. MC hammer second to MJ.

hammer couldn't fuck with michael, but i agree with the two different styles statement. Michaels style was smoother and more polished, while hammer was more explosive and bold. I wasn't a hammer fan tho, but he did dance well, I would have to say MJ had it tho

Man all due respect , The ladies were up in the club taking what they could get.. Same way the fellas were up in there doing the moves they could pull together. Had MJ actually walked up in there you would have quickly learned those moves were like going back to kindergarden class for MJ. Not only would he have done those moves along with you, but he would have served you & took all your girls back to his crib to watch PeterPan with the kids....No joke. You wouldnt know what hit you!! :-)

To be honest MJ is the man, but as a man or a young man at 20 years old in the year 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992 and im heading to a club and get some drinks and me and the fellows get on the dance floor. The moves MC Hammer is doing in this video would be more attractive to most BLACK r&b and hip hip hop clubs and the ladies. No HIP black or any male does the MJ at a club. Hammer relates towards that enviorement. MJ has his own style, but suited for HIM and his music and videos

@bscottdp That's exactly why M.J was the man. Hammer did the dance that Hip hop could relate to and crushed it. No argument there. But hammer didn't do anything else. I gaurantee mike could mimick hammer if he chose. Hammer could never get away with the stuff Mike did & Hammer didn't last. He was only great for his time. Mike lasted decades in a hat & highwater pants. He knew better than to do what everybody in Da club was doing. He could perform the simplest of moves & still hold a crowd
