  • Great tip, Familia Cara. I will keep that in mind as I continue to perform this song. My best wishes for your performance, or should I say, "Break a leg"? :)

I do try to modify the vowels in order to maintain resonance--especially grEEn. It also helps to use sufficient breath support--which I have been working on since I made this recording..

  • This is an extremely difficult piece. It helps to remember the techniques neccessary for producing Italian vowels.

In my case, trying to sing with an Irish or British accent makes it either flat or sharp. The Italian vowels add texture and darkness. I have to preform it tomorrow and only today figured out this little detail.

  • Well, you're very welcome! I cannot say too much for the singing, but the piano part is definitely there.

In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful songs in the First Soprano Solos book.

  • For the past few months, I have been searching youtube for this song with the proverbial fine toothed comb. Thank you so much for putting it up! I needed to listen to the piano part; you really are a life-saver!
