@cobrajitsu The only one that has historical roots really, is maybe the Gospel of Thomas since it may have drawn on earlier tradition but it's still not got a leg to stand on against the Gospels and the epistles and the sources that they all draw on coherently. If you assert that the original Christians were Gnostics your information is flawed at its core. The early Christians rejected and spoke out against Gnosticism (e.g. Docetism, Donatism) along with other groups such as Marcionites.

In Manichean gnosticism which mention thew battle of the Archons we find examples of Essene teachings with the battle between the sons of darkness and the sons of light. They are one and the same eschatological myth. Just read the Dead Sea Scrolls.

I take hadith much more than the bible though because alot of hadiths have been proven to be true and also we are commanded in the Quran to obey the messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) also. Me personally, I follow pretty much ALL hadiths unless they contradict the Quran or i have a LEGIT reason for being sceptical. also there is a criteria we use to determine if a hadith may be true or not.

The Council of Nicea met to settle on proper doctrine. Gnostics believed Jesus was not man at all, but God. Nicea did not change the doctrine to say Jesus was God - believers already knew that. But Gnostics and others were claiming He was not a man.
If He were not a man He could not have paid our sin debt - He had to be a perfect, sinless man so His suffering and death could atone for all men's sin, including Adam. If He were not a sinless man, His death would only pay for His sin.

Long before the council was convened Christians believed Jesus was God. This is evident since they excommunicated Arius from the Church from distancing Jesus from the Father. Nobody supported Aruis only 3 or maybe 2 voted for him at the council. Thus the trinity is presupposed and widely supported already.

@cobrajitsu The only one that has historical roots really, is maybe the Gospel of Thomas since it may have drawn on earlier tradition but it's still not got a leg to stand on against the Gospels and the epistles and the sources that they all draw on coherently. If you assert that the original Christians were Gnostics your information is flawed at its core. The early Christians rejected and spoke out against Gnosticism (e.g. Docetism, Donatism) along with other groups such as Marcionites.

By the second century there were two forms of Christianity; Gnostic and Literalist. Originally, Christianity was a mystery religion whose adherents were initiated into higher degrees of the true way. In that respect Christianity was no different to the cult of Osiris-Dionysus or the cult of Mithras, except that it had Jewish characteristics.

The early Christians were Jews, and considered Jews, they kept the Jewish Mitzvot etc only the gentile converts varied slightly. In Manichean gnosticism which mention thew battle of the Archons we find examples of Essene teachings with the battle between the sons of darkness and the sons of light. They are one and the same eschatological myth. Just read the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Such as Pliny the Youngers, who states that 'Christians meet early in the morning to worship Jesus as you would a God'. This was in Plinys letter to Trajan asking how to persecute Christians and he explained on the beliefs/practices he had observed. To worship means to give energy to something and bond yourself to it magnetically (look at what people do when they go to church).
To say that we are the only species that worships would be to deny Evolution to an great extend.

@godwithin060988 Actually I have studied evolutionary biology and anthropology is college... I know what I am talking about. Firstly you seem to be using worship and religion too loosely. If by worship you do not mean religion, than perhaps there have been animals that idolize one thing or another (this is not religion tho). But as for religion, the earliest possible religion would have ONLY occurred in recent human history. But this still would not be close to millions of years.

First of, forgiveness does not come from somebody doing something good to you in the past, it comes ONLY through Understanding, i guess Christ forgave others because people were "good" to him in the past and not because he understood WHY they hated him and WHY they hurt him.
So the answer is actually "it is from you purely forgiving me", thats right, true forgiveness is true understanding, without true understanding you can not have true forgiveness, that is because they are ONE.

@godwithin060988 for no good reason, you point is still 100% invalid. You have this 100% false notion on how karma works. It is NOT if you do good to one thing, that one thing owes you and does good back to you. Take for example if I hit you and you forgive me. Well that does NOT mean whatsoever that in the future bad would come out of it. An obvious bad would be guilt which could lead to many other things.
Please, before you try to argue about karma, at least understand it:p

This is EXACTLY where Love/Forgiveness comes in, to forgive Self is to first understand "WHY" it is not your fault, so inturn no "bad" will occur from your "bad".
Replace karma with Love and forgiveness and you will understand WHY there is no need for Karma, "bad" does not exist.

People, there are gods (pagan gods) who stand below God (the creator of the Human lineages) and then there is CREATION, which stands unmeasurably higher than God (the creator of the Human lineages).
God is a Human just like us but with much more knowledge and wisdom than the most advanced "aliens" out there.
But Jesus did not come to teach about God but rather about CREATION, because it is Creation which created everything (even God)

But people didn't understand this very high consciousness, so they thought he was the only one. I have no problem with christians, but i am firmly against the religion itself, I wish for peace and harmony as much as anyone, but will not adhere to something that i find to be false, I study religion among other things, and mine is the oonly religion that makes sense to me.

@Phaeton230780 Yes you are kind of right. Hadith is to be taken with a grain of salt. I take hadith much more than the bible though because alot of hadiths have been proven to be true and also we are commanded in the Quran to obey the messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) also. Me personally, I follow pretty much ALL hadiths unless they contradict the Quran or i have a LEGIT reason for being sceptical. also there is a criteria we use to determine if a hadith may be true or not.

I see al lot of discourse below; quoting the Bible will not do in this case. It will prove nothing. What we all need to do is aquire the books that are not present in the Bible but do or did qualify to be (Jubilee, Adam & Eve, Jasher et al.) and study them. There is a real chance a political motivated element perverted the Bible to fit their own caus(es). We need to read everything thats relevant, all the apocryphia and even study the contemporary historians like Tacitus and the likes. SPSL

This vid is a G*Dsend. Finally a vid that underlines my own conclusions. The veneration of Yeshua as G*D is the perfect perversion for the adversary to pull. Observation: 'they' got the ones, whos belief cant be thwarted, believing Yeshua is a G*D (false). Allthwhile having the ones in the 'New Age' mindset believing Yeshua was just a story and was just like like Horus, Mithras etc. (false).

At John 13:16 Jesus states a fact: "I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him."
Earlier Jesus stated at John 5:36, "...the Father hath sent me."
Where was Jesus when He was "sent"? He was in heaven, as a spirit being, when he was sent. The FATHER (YHWH) was Jesus' God and as such, had the authority to SEND him.

It follows that God Almighty, the greatest sovereign of the universe would not have a superior above him. Would it be reasonable for ALMIGHTY GOD to say that HE has someone else to whom HE looks to as HIS god?
At Rev 3:12 The resurrected Jesus, occupying the highest position he will ever have, claims 4 times that he has a GOD.
Romans 15:6, 2 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 11:31, Ephesians 1:3, 1 Peter 1:3 all show that Jesus' Father was also His GOD.

@Jesusisposttrib That is silly. God says he stands with the mighty and juges amoung the gods. Why would he say that if they were not gods? Why didn't he say false gods? Also, where the scriputes talk about false gods, it does not say that there are not other gods but false gods. Therefore if there are false gods there must be true gods!

Escape - re "gods" - even in Abraham's time there were many "god" (note little g). God (YHWH) never said they were false gods - that would be very redundant. The very beginning of the Bible states I AM is the only true God. If you can't grasp that, there is no hope to reach you. ADIOS.

The Council of Nicea met to settle on proper doctrine. Gnostics believed Jesus was not man at all, but God. Nicea did not change the doctrine to say Jesus was God - believers already knew that. But Gnostics and others were claiming He was not a man.
If He were not a man He could not have paid our sin debt - He had to be a perfect, sinless man so His suffering and death could atone for all men's sin, including Adam. If He were not a sinless man, His death would only pay for His sin.

@fwfassett No they didn't. Constantine forced the meeting to unify his empire at the expense of true Christian doctrine. The Bishop of Rome didn't even attend! Contantine wanted Christianity to agree with pagan Platonic Greek Philosophy which was very popular and unquestioned by the educated at the time. This is all documented by Roman historians.

Water can exist in 3 states. ice (solid), steam or liquid. These three states are ONE in nature. Trinity means God is 3 in 1 essence, it is similar to sciences 3 states of matter, or the belief of a human being = mind body and soul. That is what the trinity is. Jesus was God and Man at the same time, most of the people who give these two verses as proof against Jesus' divinity is actually oblivious to Jesus' theology.
Jesus temporarily subjected and suppressed himself during his time on earth, the sacrifice wasn't just the cross but going through our mortal code.
Our mortal code = Hunger, Pain, agony, limitations, ignorance, and subjection.
He was temporarily at a rank lower than the angels.
