@Thegoldencar10: The Maricopa live steamers with 7 1/2" gauge track is only a few miles from this set up and has over an actual mile of track. There are non-publicly known gauge 1 layouts on estates here and especially in the U.K. that dwarf this.

This layout looks good, but in Scheveningen (Netherlands) there is a garden railroad, also 3 acres, but with over 12.000 feet of track. Look here at youtube under the keyword "Madurodam", and you will find it.

how do you keep those long tunnels clean? what happens in the case of a derailment in there?

@krodista Well the tunnels are specially made so the trains don't derail. We pour concrete onto the track and angle it slightly so that if the train does start to come off it should "walk" itself back on. Cleaning the tunnels we use a leaf blower just to blow all the crap out.

Actually,I hate to be the one to tell you this, but this isn't even close to the largest G scale railroad no matter how you add it up. I have friends that have more HO track than that. Sorry, but whoever told you that this was the largest anything was not correct. There is a private layout in CA that just one of it's bridges over 700 feet long. When you have over 10.000 feet of main line track, and the layout covers over 200,000 sq feet, then you're getting closer to the current record.
