I remember when I was a kid Perlman was everywhere Sesame Street etc. he brought the violin to people that didn't know classical music at all but they knew who Itzhak Perlman was. I'm a professional violinist now and I think even I take his influence for granted sometimes he was one of the first violinist I knew by name and wanted to be like. He gets lost in this new generation that is so heavily marketed and hyped.
