Thrash metal is overhyped. The only good thing is the guitars. There is no musical balance, drums are terrible, playing in 4/4s, and the bass isn't very well written. The point is, you guys listen to trash metal, a genre that only focusses on guitars and nothing else.

I've been to a lot of metalcore concerts and have seen a lot of metalheads, a lot of hardcore kids, a lot of different people, and just three or four emos per concert. @Altairman117 ABR, AILD, and MMI are all incredibly generic metalcore bands. That's not saying much, though, because 99% of metalcore is generic. Thrash is much more technical than metalcore, and metalcore bands will tell you this because they realize their music isn't hard to play (not necessarily a bad thing, but in their case it is).

I think thrash sounds like shit.. Personally.. I don't really like metal at all, but when I do listen to metal, I usually listen to stuff that would probably be labeled as "metalcore". I just like it more than thrash or stuff like that. I don't get why you have to ridicule and hate on it so much just because you don't like it.
