This guy is a phenomenon; he can't talk with authority on pretty much anything. So much for these pseudo-intellectuals who have no idea what's going on like Hitchens.
Best ignore those who use terms such as "screaming liberals" i.e.. Bill O'Reilly
clones- examples of " Fox" brainwashing limited to hurling gratuitous abuse & name calling-rather than advancing evidence supporting loss of alleged " freedoms" at the expense of the underpriveleged at home and abroad.

I tend to vote conservative, and haven't been brainwashed into believing all liberals are crazy.
I used to be one. And then, I got involved in capitalism, started understanding the "order", and how a republic preserves it. So 8 months ago I post a comment, and even now you screaming liberals are still responding.
As the Obama plan takes shape, we are losing lots of our freedoms, money is being taken from those who earn it, although if you're one of the welfare recipients or a student, you don't pay taxes so be it.
Knightpremier - there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that not only have you NEVER had your phone tapped.
Liberals ignore the REAL freedoms they lose, and focus on imaginary heros like Chomsky.
HalRogers2000 you are a narrow minded idiot who probably gobbles up all the american propaganda dished out by the false media of the U.S. you are a disgrace its because of people that iraq was invaded are you so blind that you cannot see the great suffering caused by your government or do you not care as long as it happens far away from you all you care about.Put yourself in the position of an ordinary person from iraq their country has been decimated by the U.S. 1 million dead speaks for itself

Hussein's treatment of Iraqi citizens -- throwing a person off a roof with hands tied behind his back, watching torture videos of poeple getting acid baths, or having hands cut off, women being raped.
If this is the Iraq you long for, Obama will soon allow it to happen when he pulls US support for freedom and Democracy from IRAQ.
The future of Iraq is like it's past: Muslims killing other Muslims for their 7th century belief system.
PS: Who ever said 72 virgins would be females? Dream on.
Chomsky is a foolish old man, that was once a foolish young man. Amazing how he continues to believe in his own importance. The only people that believe Chomsky are gullible liberals who are looking to degrade America, but unfortunately, anti-American Liberals are pervasive, so Chomsky still has an audience.

Nice try - The USA is the last best hope for Europe, it has been 2 prior times. Now, when Muslims take over and setup Sharia law, and religious states in Europe and elsewhere, who will you turn to for help?

How about citing an instance of some right you have lost, or that someone you know has lost?
How it is that we have NOT been attacked since 9/11 ?? Is that magic, or is it due to the efforts of the Bush Administration to protect and defend the USA and YOUR right to live without fear of a terrorist attack??
Ive lost some rights to privacy, warrantless wiretapping. In the case of Guantanamo, Ive obviously lost the right to fair trial. There are others. As for 9/11: thanks to the actions of the US post 9/11, we are once again progressing towards the very real possibility of nuclear war. Muslims with bombs aren't the only terrorists, and they arent even the best terrorists. Remember, we have the most expesive military equipment in the world, and are using it.
We were much safer under the benevolent rule of the Bush Administration? The man who left our ports wide open. Our borders wide open. Attacked the wrong country. Failed to capture the people who attacked us. Bankrupted this country (congress is to blame as well). Left us with a tremendous deficit. Enacted torture. Trampled on our civil liberties with illegal wiretapping. Outed a CIA agent. Politicized the justice department. I don't know whether to cry or laugh at your comment.
RevolutionOfCG stifles opposing view points by A) Calling them mentally deranged and in need of medication (yes he is 100% serious, see "Bush Derangement Syndrome") or B) Blocking all users who he disagrees with, regardless if they are completely civil or not. If you don't like this go to all of his videos and click 1 star, and comment on them telling him this is NOT how America works. AMERICANS BELIEVE IN FREE SPEECH!
to each their own rite happylittlehamburger? i think that chomsky has some good points and there is no denying that he is a highly intelligent man, which is why i was listening to his speech. I was listening to this one because i am interested in politics, and as an american outside of usa guantanamo seems hypocritical of our war on terror and is an embarrasment. by stage presence i mean people like kennedy or even, though i hate to admit it, hitler.
Yes. Great orators can sway the minds of the general public to make them do whatever they want. Hitler's ideas weren't the best, but after a speech of his, the crowd was ready to do his bidding. I doubt Germany would have so readily followed him unless he was a great speaker. Therefore, I think it's no coincidence that I sited "2 war criminals"
I'm not sure I understand the point, and I'm not trying to be sarcastic. Are you saying that it is better to have charismatic speakers with good rhetoric and not much information?
BTW, no need to quote "war criminals". That particular point is not a matter of opinion but rather fact.
No, I'm definitely not saying that. In fact, I tend to be more at ease with bad speakers because then only solid information will do the convincing, as much as I would like to believe that I'm above being charmed by personality. I used quotations because it is opinion that JFK was a war criminal
this is the smartest man in the world? really? because i researched his ideas this year after hearing of his genius and to my suprise realised that i came up with the same theories last year completely by myself, IN 11th GRADE! honestly, he seems quite intelligent and does know his history, but i don't think that Noam can be called the smartest man. he is also quite boring, no stage presence.
A notion like "smartest man in the world" is a completely meaningless concept; there are just too many metrics you could use to evaluate a person. And what does it matter anyway? If someone has ideas or knowledge that I find insightful, I'm willing to listen and integrate it into my own action and understanding.
I honestly don't find him boring at all. In fact, he's one of the least boring speakers I've ever had the privilege of hearing. Now, people who try to hide their lack of knowledge using "stage presence", I do certainly find boring. I'm interested in facts and ideas, not the rhetorical crap used to entertain the 5-second attention-span sheep.
Noam has put extraordinary effort toward making our world a better place. And yet, you open and close with put-downs. It's really disappointing.
You clearly demonstrate your own lack of intellect -- throw a few nasty words at the guy so you don't have to bother reading his (vast) literature or refuting anything he says specifically. Ever heard of the term "ad hominem attack"? (If not, look it up.)
I'm guessing he's just upset that he devoted himself to the "9/11 Truth" cult while Noam decided to stay in reality. If you can't defeat someone on intellectual grounds, you just throw as much slime as possible.
To mookid, and anybody else who posts Noam: Thank you all very much. I absolutely can't get enough. I'm currently and expat, and Youtube has become quite a source, if not the only source, of info for me about my home. I can't get enough Noam!!
Thank you for posting this it was really interesting to hear the history of Guantanamo Bay. Could you give a bit of information on it such as when and where the talk was given and who filmed it if you know .
Not all Americans believe propaganda. I love Noam and believe him to be the most informed man of truth and honesty.

Your response is ample evidence of the liberal left's willingness to defend Chomsky and his arrogantly self-centered, anti-American views.
