  • Saw these guys perform with Pete Donnelly at Milkboy. Wow! They're awesome.

  • Awesome.

  • I got a fist full of bills

And I'm going to see the boss man.

I don't live by the law, but I do what I can.

It's a business babe, everybody's gotta pay the rent

So I walk up the stairs, knock on room 305, When you're livin like I do, don't know how long you're gonna be alive.

You trade green for white, and ride, ride ride.

Well they treat you like a spinning wheel. And they don't care how you feel. Gonna have to find a plate to get your meals. Baby that's the deal.

  • love this song!!!! <3

but what a pity they don't have their lyrics anywhere and i can't understand everything...

can someone send it to me?

    thx

  • fabulous!

  • These guys fuckin rock!

Congrats lads been a long time.

  • Pawnshop Roses has a few songs in the soundtrack for the movie KICKING THE DOG, which will be released on DVD April 21, 2009.

  • God bless rock and roll. Fuck this poor, pop, teen thing called hip hop and rap from nowadays.

  • aMEN brother!

  • RetardsAttemptingPoetry(RAP)

    Nice Tele

  • music is like candy - you have to throw away the (w)rappers

  • these guys are the masters.

  • WTF?! Young guys making music that doesn't make me want vomit!?!?!??!

  • Great song! Great performance! Great vid! I'm glad this video won, it definitely deserves it!

  • 00:42 the chick's impression

    lmao

  • The awareness of Rock is definately there. Its also freshly done while the singer is pulling off the character and it works for this type of blues. The others in the band need to find their own character and display it a bit more, whatever that may be.

What is exciting is that their use of call and response and "off form" blues "excursions" are creative with limitless possibilities in the future that I hope continues.

  • Great song. Very cool video, definitely captures the energy of the song and the band.

Does he say "I got a fistful of pills and I'm gonna need the bald man. I don't live by the law, but I do what I can." Why would you need a bald man?

  • Their debut album made the Top 25 HomeGrown Music Chart, along with such acts as The Beastie Boys, Keller Williams, Moe and Umphries McGhee.

  • Dude. Pawnshop Roses kickass. I know the signer well. He's a good family friend. And he knows how to have fun with music

  • remember when music was fun. these guys do. they are having a ball. they rock.good luck guys, billy

  • just saw these guys open for Robert Randolph the other night, great set - good stuff!

  • The Pawnshop Roses will release their debut full length record "Let It Roll" on May 10th with a show on the mainstage of Philadelphia's Trocadero Theater. Check out their MySpace page (myspace/pawnshoproses) that is linked in the video description above for more info and a Pre-Order Sale to get bonus mp3s!

  • songs from the new record hit iTunes July 29th!

  • Awesome, you know I been listening to this song and their other one for about 2 weeks straight. These boys are doing something right!

  • cool - new record coming out in a couple weeks!

  • I detect a little Alvin Lee influence ... overall, nice ... kinda, sorta a little Ten Years After & Georgia Satelites ... LET'S ROCK :)

  • wow, kickass, if this is them live then they might have more to offer on a studie album.. they sound slike 'Louis the XIV' alltogether good

  • singer looks like Rory Galagher

  • was just thinking exactly the same his vocals sound like him too

  • These guys rock. I saw them in a small bar with just the lead singer and the guitar player and they were sick. Can't wait to see the full band live.

  • that was awesome...5 stars worth..all the best to you guys...

  • hey right on, finally a rock n roll revival.

  • Great down to earth Rock and Roll!!!

  • That´s rock and roll!

  • Modern-day Creedence Clearwater Revival...

  • I couldnt agree more!

  • 5 starssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

  • Hey guys! Not bad!

  • Nice, 5 stars.

  • ROCKABILLY

  • lol rillbilly

  • Hiya, just found this video, really nice job; The camera is nice and clear and it just looks awesome. I like the song too, something to have good beer at a concert with. Heh ^^ <not that I know, eh?> I know a couple people that might like this song, so I'll spread it around. <gives a wave>

  • Like your stuff. Living in Vegas i dont get to hear "real" music much, road house is mssing from this town. On my way back home to Cleveland hope to stop by and see you guys live. I long for reality...

  • wow this is an awesome vid.

this is so old school yet so new school at the same time and i just have to give my props to the wonderful homies of this band.

  • Excellent! Love the twin Tele sound. Keep cranking it up and cranking it out!

  • Sounds real Nice Great job

  • just one word, amazing!

  • If you ever want to change the name of the band : Revenge of the Geeks

    You can have it

  • Good song (Great Gtr work)...Everyones a critic you dont like it go somwhere else, for me its whats real about music (The-Blues)..Keep it Alive

  • Great guitar work. Awesome band.

  • jack black on lead guitar!

  • that's some fine guitar work!!

  • Get a contract!

  • Listen to Nevermore. 3 things make up great music. Technique, Knowledge of your instrument and creativity. Play the hell out of it or dont play it at all

  • Well I can agree to knowing about your instrument and creativity, and do recognize the talent needed to play the hell out of your instrument, but for me why play a million notes when one will do?

  • i see a heavy jack white/raconteurs influence in there

  • yea i could see jack white singing this song, especiallly with brendan as backup vocalist

  • i thought the black crowes already covered this musical territory. Boring

  • I like Black Crowes too, but there is always room for another book on the shelf. This song got it.

  • and gangster rap is so original

  • Seriously, really liked this song, but LOVED Fading Out and Daybreaks, which definitely show a great range of talent. Didn't people mock Dylan when he started making rockabilly? And now they're considered some of his best songs. Plus the other songs aren't quite like this, so I'm glad I listened to those.

  • The late 70s actually did call and they said "Why did it take 30 years for guys to start playing great music again." And if you don't think great music like that is returning, listen to the riffs by the White Stripes or Wolfmother and tell me it's not blues rock.

  • there a really good band but i really dont care about this song

  • The band is very good...

    I like this song

  • really good band, you might be famous!

  • Hey, Pawnshop Roses: the late 70's blues/rockabiliy crowd called, they want you to return your setlist IMMEDIATELY.

  • I like it very much, but you have to work just a little more with the sound. The drum was little bit high and the stings a little bit low. (Just a little no so much) OK.

  • these guys are fun

  • I loved it. Loved the rockabilly feel. It's hard to find a band that sounds good live like that. Please post more.

  • perfect band!

  • Its funny, if ounce upon a time guys like this didn't play what they did none of the rest would ever come along. Blues formed the basis of modern music forever, trace any form of modern music back far enough and you find some old dude sitting on his porch talking about how much his life sucked lol. Old School Rock FTW! Its good to see that somewhere outthere nerdy white guys are still rockin out =)

  • I love the bluesy, rockabilly country mix... very good.. I would definately listen more...

  • gooood band

  • finily, a good band!!!

  • i dig.

  • Lovin' the sound, dudes. It's real rock n' roll baby

  • now thats the way i want to Rock N' Roll!

nice one dudes, really enjoyed that one

  • Awesome! You guys are amazing! It's too bad that no one listens to blues these days, all that stuff has been shrouded by the grungy and bombastic alternative rock age, tis shame.

I've always wanted to join a blues band, so I'm going to form one soon! I'm a blues guitarist myself.

  • Pawnshop Roses are from my hometown and these guys are an amazing rock and roll band. This song is a bit country but they are a rock and roll band much in the same vein as The Black Crows

  • Pretty sweet dudes.

  • holy heck. i saw you in my living room 5 minutes ago!

  • The drummer and bass player saves the band.

  • boo

  • Yeehaw! What a Bunch Of Yokels!!

"Hey Ma I Found a Squirrel! We Eatin Tonite!"

Haha Nah They're alot Better Than Alot Of the stuff you find on here :P

  • great blues band, lots of flair and style and the mutton chops look cool:)

  • whatsup with that cheekhair?

  • This chord progression has been done so many times that I don't think they can call that "their song."

  • they sell roses at pawn shops?

  • it's the 3 chords to Mystery Train--why not just cover it? is anyone else as bored with this as i am? good playing but no originality.

  • It's the 3 chords to everything, it's a basic blues progression.

  • its pretty cool

  • not bad...could have been a better song

  • So Boring!

  • nice

  • Good job guys

  • dam i though this was rock or heavy... and this is EXTREMLY SIMULAR TO BALLROOM BLITZ by the sweet. I don't think they can even call this song there own...

  • Not so so similar... the rif may remind me of Ballroom Blitz... But the vocalist is more calm, and the melody is not that similar.. :) Stii Sweet knows how to play... and so does these guys :)

  • Yeah, your right, but they clearly got there inspiration from that song. The first guitar play is very similar, as well as the drums.

  • totally get where you're coming from.

  • DEFF influenced by CCR.

    this is awesome

  • Hey...Pawnshop Roses are the shiznit! Plus, I want Kevin Bentley to be my baby's daddy..

    rock on....

    cheers-

    d from 4"Stud

  • not bad...not hard enough for me though!! but they're talented!

  • three cord blues, so unoriginal. back to the drawing board.

  • At least thei`re not folow the mainstreem A4 music.... Thou, I`t would be hard to do something totally new and exiting, at least they play well.. and the music is quite likeable :)

  • I really dont know what to say....

  • good

  • they sound like radiohead with a little maiden/pantera/pac influence. pretty good

  • Try texas.

  • Trash.

  • It's not bad, just kind of a basic blues rock number though and it does get played a lot, there are tons of songs that are based off this same beat. Not bad though better then some other bands I've heard.

  • no you havent

  • lame i've heard it five thousand times before by different "artists"

  • must've been hard to keep count!

  • Liked the Telecasters. Was good till he started singing.
