  • Good rendition. I covered this on drums along with Eight Miles High and Turn, Turn, Turn. Keep playing.

  • Nice...

    5 stars..

plz rate/comment one of mine 2, thanks.

  • Great job, man!

  • That was terrific! I'm jealous. I wore a pair of Roger McQuinn glasses to school back in 1965 and my homeroom teacher took them from me and I never got them back. And you know what? It just hit me. Her name was Mrs. Byrd!!!

  • Thanks to share this song with us; It is simply the greatest 1967 song, and it is the year that has probably be the richest for music melodies in versatile genres. And perhaps the greatest melody ever. If I 'll live in an island, that 's the one I 'll pick up first And what a great word/number associated nickname !

  • Byrds? dude Bob Dylan... It's not even fair when they were were less than a few decades apart... Still think Dylan did it better anyways...

  • Excellent buddy first class job there and the glasses thrown in too well done I look forward to more tributes from a great band and Roger McGuinn

  • BTW in Folk Rewind, McGuinn played My Back Pages using the Turn, Turn, Turn picking. It sounded great! I think I like it better.

  • This is by far the best Byrds version on You Tube...hands down. Excellent Dave & Erin.

  • McGuinn's solo on this now classic, was one of the most heartfelt best, from

1967. His entire arrangement here, is brilliant, and timelessly fresh 43 years

later. David, your tributes are sincere efforts to recapture precious moments

from a living legend. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.

  • @movingon4ever Thank you very much!

  • Good job!

  • FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!!!!

  • Great song ! Best wishes from the Bavarian-German-"Girls" Karen & Sissi

  • where did you get that 370 was it from a guy in Fl?

  • what a nice guitar¡¡¡ of course what the interpretation its so great, i would like to play byrds songs in my band but I dont have a Rickenbacker ...

  • Wow - Roger McGuinn The Signature Rickenbacker - very strong part to bring you there to sing! :-)) Is it the instrument at all today? ;-)

  • @Stringfeeling woke up this morning my 12 string looked wierd my lear jet had a beard and crosbys footprints i feared .

  • Very popular song it is hard to please people (if we remember Byrds version)but you give a very good try all the best.

  • Fantastic job Dave! Long live the Ric! Let's see Erin sometime, eh?!

  • Outstanding.

Don't suppose you could offer some hints on how to play it, could you?--Like maybe the chords you're using? The guitar chords you're playing sound great, but they don't look anything like the ones in the Bob Dylan songbook I have.

  • WOW, these are great! I've always wanted to learn that jingle jangle style and these videos will go a long way to aid. The first album I ever purchased was a Byrds album, though I can't remember which. Keep on keepin' on...

  • Great job on this one

  • He cover the byrds very good eh?

  • You did a great job on this my friend, why didn't you show the person doing the high part? Also, did you use a drum machine?

How many tracks did you do for the guitar?

  • Long Live Roger McGuinn and the Rick 360! Great rendition of a timeless Dylan tune which the Byrds made even better. LC

  • What a bright spark in a music era that warms my heart. Always been in love with the Rickenbacker sound. You are tops my man. Keep it alive.

  • Bob Dylan tribute.

  • magnifico!

  • Very nice. great guitar.

I really enjoy watching videos of regular folks. the glasses were a nice touch.

  • Excellent dude. That was simpley awesome

  • Manni (BeatnikManfred) mentioned you on his channel, so I thought I would check out your channel. WOW!! What a fantastic cover! I've always loved Rickenbackers. I currently have a LesPaul. The Rickenbacker is an amazing sounding guitar!! This truly deserves at least 5 stars!! You sound great! Excellent video! Very well done. I think I'm going to subscribe! :)) Peace2U, Kim

  • This was an awesome rendition of one of my favorite songs. Great job. Beautiful guitar!!!!!

  • you play very good and you sound just like roger himself;) do you wanna change your guitar for my eagle 12 string?

  • I'll stick with what I have. It took forever to get one. Your site is cool.

  • @Byrds1967 This was always one of my favourite Byrds guitar solos on this track. Another is the lovely jazzy solo from 'Everybody's been burned'. Actually I have two 12 string guitars : both acoustic though ; one less expensive YAMAHA and then an imported MARTIN which is lovely but less expensive D12 X1, with the spruce top but high pressure laminate back and no markings on the fretboard. I bought it from U.S. website Elderley instruments.

  • great job! your voice is amazing.5 stars

  • David, what a great job you do! I am so impressed. This is one of my favorite Byrds tunes. Keep rocking!!--Rob B. :)

  • this a good melody en singing.top mvg jan

  • great job

  • Great stuff Dave!!!

  • that is a lot of equipment.

  • Roger would be proud! Nice job!

  • is this the best coverversion of this song ever played?

  • Where do you get a vest like that?

  • It's a biker vest. Any motorcycle store should have some.

  • Nice play and comfterble voice. Looks like you take your hobby serious, with good equipment. Personally I like those who make their own versions when they cover artists better then the ones trying to be as close to the original.

I'll give you 4 Norwegian stars:) Good job!

  • Nothing sounds better than a Rick,Thanks for the post.Great job.

  • Thank you everybody!

  • Beautiful. Great job! A great tribute, I think McGuinn would love it too!

  • Excellent! Saw the Byrds at the Maui War Memorial Gymnasium in 67. They actually warmed up for the Young Rascals! Still remember the Byrds performance that night!! You've done your homework and did it well!

Take care and happy holidays. Kevin

  • Well done, You really sound good!

    Bob

  • This sounds so great! I really enjoyed listening to this, you have such a wonderful talent!! 5 stars from me, Love, Tamara xx

  • Fantastic job. Your Ric sounds great. If you don't mind my asking what did you have to pay for your RM model Ric? I tried to buy a Ric back about '70 or so and they were around $700 then. I would say you gave considerably more than that for yours though.

  • Great job and I'd somewhat agree. But, One thing I don't quite think that it rings out quite like it should. I've seen McQuinn several times from his Byrd days to as recent as this year. He is the master in being able to finger pick these songs on either electric or acoustic and I've never seen anyone who can duplicate it so there is always something missing.

  • Great job! Dig the byrds!

    Lar

  • excellent!!

    "..And it took shape

    And symmetry

    And all of life around.."

  • Absolutely wonderful rendition. Very nice little touch (the square framed sunglasses). I also enjoyed the backup vocal by your friend Enn. I have subscribed to you. Please give my channel a read through and listen to some of my stuff and tell me what you think. Thanks.

  • Dear Friend...without many words...Brilliant*****

I´m a great Byrds and Rickenbacker fan also.

    Best wishes...Manni

  • Sounds better than the Byrds did performing live. Nice job!! How about recording something off the wall..like 'Mind Gardens'?

  • Please, no.

  • Well done sir! Roger would be proud

  • amazing, great post

  • Teach me Master!

  • Magnificent Dave. There ought to be an X-Prize for jangling so high into the stratosphere. I'm all snowed in here in upstate New York and your Rickenbacker knocked half the snow off my roof!

  • There ought to be a X-Prize awarded for achieving this much JANGLE! I'm snowed in here in upstate New York and your Rickenbacker knocked half the snow off my roof. Keep them coming Dave - I'm saving each one of them!

  • Awesome! That is all I can say.

  • One of the BEST tributes I've heard. You Sound Great. Thank You

  • Dave and Erin, you both sound GREAT!

  • Thanks man!
