there have been some serious injuries over the years due to the unpredictability of the weapons they use

Necro Butcher had a broken piece of a light tube go into his arm and had to be rushed to the hospital. it was on the event no blood, no guts, no glory 2000

Nick Mondo had a big cut to his arm at the event H8 Club, Dead? & another serious injury at TOD2 where he and Zandig went off the roof of a bar through tables and glass, Mondo's whole back was covered in blood

some more injuries, as i think of them:

Nick Mondo also had gotten Hit with a weed whacker at TOD 1 as have other people every now and then: Zandig took 3 shots to the back one after the other one match against Wifebeater... and then years later took 2 at once followed by a 3rd in TOD 6 (3 in the same match)

Dustin Lee had a broken light tube carve out a decent hole in his back at Tournament of death: Fast Forward, you could see it flapping around as he ran to the back.

Zandig has had a tendon hanging from his arm at the end of his match @ Deja Vu. Jun Kasai had 3 nice scars all the way across his back & muscle sinue (i think) hanging out of his arm after his match @ Un F'N Believeable. Wifebeater's back was nothing but blood after his 200 light tube match at They Said It Couldn't Be Done and They Said It Couldn't Be Done Again. Nick Gage caught fire at TOD 3 OR 4. Sexy Eddy had 2 veins in his arm cut at TOD 3.

and then there's nick gage having to be life flighted to the hospital at TOD 8. just what i remember off the top of my head.

now with all the incidents i have mentioned: keep in mind they recovered. and these are only a few incidents out of thousands (perhaps 10,000) of these types of matches that have been held in 4 countries (Japan, Germany, US & Canada) since like 1989 when the first ones were done. and they haven't all ended with serious injuries. just lots of cuts.
