I played SL for a couple years; I created content and profited from the game, but now I feel sorry for most people who continue to play it. It's a drain on your money, time, and personal life. Most people who play it take it way too seriously, and the the majority of them have ruined their careers and their relationships with their families, friends, and spouses.
This game helped me learn alot about the real world despite it being a virtual world it taught me a language and multiple cultures. as for the roblox 23 million players # I seriously doubt that..

@liventhegoodlife1000 There isn't more. I signed up and all I had to do was click one button that says "I am 18+," and done. Now I can get into all the 18+ places just like any other kid could. Its that easy to do it, although if someone is doing it they obviously know what they're going to be seeing. Although, a funny thought, origonally it was harder to confirm you were under 18 than over. You needed parental comformation to prove you were a child, but nothing to prove you were an adult.

Unlike standard mmorpgs like WoW, very little content is stored locally. Because SL is constantly changing, it needs to be downloaded in real time from the SL servers. This often means a trade off in graphics vs bandwidth. However, high quality graphics are possible in SL.
For the purposes of this video - game resolution was kept low-medium in order to achieve an acceptable frame rate in the video capture :)
Awesome look at SL! Not many "get it", and you do. As the owner of one of the sims featured (Steelhead), I can say, it is a labor of love. Sure one can make real money, but all I want is a tight knit community, something I find lacking in my real life. In SL, I've found it. Keep it up, I hope to see more of your films :).

Personally, I didn't plan on using SL any more after we finished the video - but I can't help but pop back in from time to time. Even if it only scratches the surface of what SL is and what you can do there, it's an amazing video with a very open attitude towards Second Life.

Wow, then great work yourself :) The creativity of the user generated content in SL really took us aback. Personally, I didn't plan on using SL any more after we finished the video - but I can't help but pop back in from time to time. Thanks again for the kind words, and again - Steelhead is some fantastically impressive content :)
