  • In loving memory of treasure, who we all miss dearly. And know she is playing in heaven with her brother,

  • I've got a ridge back 2!

so how old are these ridgebacks???

  • I've got 2 Rhodies, myself and I tell ya I would not get another breed of dog. I couldn't help, but laugh when I saw closely in the background where there is an obvious trail of where they run constantly. My back yard is the same and I noticed you've got the tall enclosed fence as we had to do the same. These dogs are too smart for their own good.

  • they're soooo beautiful i have three of them, Simba, Kia , and Sundae

  • how can this thing hunt lion or scare it.... a male lion won't hesitate 1sec to break his neck.

  • They kept the lions at bay for the hunter to get a good shot. They didnt nessicarily kill the lion.

  • That's too risky, it's more like a meat shield.

  • TANKS FTW

  • fuck no. it wasn't . you've obviously never seen how pack animals hunt.

  • @bipod3 lol ur opinions vs 200 years of breeding and practical application. myths are far too common but this dog was made for that very purpose.

  • beautiful dogs bro! I love ridgebacks, hard to find though.

  • Truthfully they were used to keep lions a bay until the hunter could get there and kill it. And sometimes they did have to kill the lion in order to protect the hunter if the lion went after them. I own 2 myself and I love them. They are the best dogs, becasue they don't bark much unless there is a reason to, and they atren't an aggressive guard dog so you can take them out in public and people won't be nervous to say hi to you or them like they would with a pit bull or rottweiler. :)

  • No the ridgeback pack was never able to even injure the lion, it's sole purpose was to harass and bay it as mentioned, enabling the hunter to get a clear shot

  • they were used to scare lions away..not to kill them or fight them...

theyre amazing dogs, i have one myself!
