well "quality" is very debatable any handmade company can do the same or better for half the price. seriously you get an ash body and maple neck strat down the street for under 1000$ with those specs on it. Only difference is not the same tuners and pickups.. I'll take a warmoth guitar any day of the week, bound fretboard, tall frets.. ect with the right woods and body shape for me.
I love how they say he made it top to bottoms, i kept looking at the tuners, volume knobs and so on laughing
This is a nice guitar but I didn't hear anything that a regular decent strat wont sound like, in fact it sounded all very 'samey'. $6700 is a lot to pay for 2 bits of wood, some wireing, a few magnets, a few screws and some finish. I've got a the 93' ltd ed cs set neck strat, it's no: 7 of 15, I paid £1,200 for it new, best strat I ever played, but only after I worked on it myself and it was 'masterbuilt by John Cruz, Just my opinion.
Amazing guitar..one day man..one day, I am thinking of buying a team built CS soon, but masterbuilt will haft to wait a while...but..one day..one day;)
Sounds awesome but I think it's just plain ugly. I know nobody will agree with me but there you are. Give me a solid colour any day, or a tobacco burst.
@04adamski Yes. All single coil pickups hum to some degree. It's the nature of the beast. Fender does have alternatives, I.E. Lace Sensors, N2, and now the N3 noiseless single coils. Thanks!
@04adamski i think the hum does help get that RAW sound which is fine... dude you can't go wrong with a Fender, i tried different types of guitar i even have a custom shop ibanez UCEWFM that has been sleeping in her bed since i played a strat. like what i said.. you cant go wrong.
I've built guitars for just over 25 years, I have a Mexican strat which is stunning - the right wood, it resonates right. Err, thats it - I can change the pickups and I've saved £2,000 on a CS.
I have played a number of CS strats, all good, all very overpriced. Its a shame, I love fender to bits but...
although this is a pretty guitar....its not what makes fender great. just think you can get a fantastic sounding american strat for about £800 quid ....money that wouldn't even get you a les paul sudio.
@3Deity - Honestly, you don't know what you are talking about. You think that by changing the pickups you can get the same quality like a proper masterbuilt Stratocaster? Well, I don't think so.... Custom shop Strats are a million miles away better than anything produced out there by Fender.... I know that for sure. I am playing them all the time!!
If you buy Custom Shop, you are guarenteed to get a high quality instrument built well with nice wood. If you decide to buy a Mexican Strat, you might be the 1 in a 100 and get the tone king, but it's never going to look or feel the way a Custom Shop does.
Overpriced? Fuck yeah, but if your going to be playing guitar for your whole life, 10 grand or so on guitars isn't that bad.
@3Deity Hey, some people need an expensive guitar for confidence, and some can just afford these beauties and so why not buy one, but I agree with you that excellent sounding guitars come in at every price range.
@1971SuperLead I met a guy once wo had spend nearly a grand on a Malmsteen model. "Wow, whats it like?" It turned out he doesn't play but kept it in its case and about once a year opened it to look at it. (que Nigel Tufnel jokes here!) and he had it as an investment - Huh?!? Then I meet a guy who has the worst acoustic in the world and who plays like an angel.
why display huge Marshalls everywhere if you're gonna plug into a Fender? lol

@CamilleJacob No. The guitar is plugged directly in to a Fender Supersonic amp. Thanks!
