  • maybe meds aren't for everybody, but they work for a lot of people that have to remain functional in their job and in life. If you are worried about your doctors conflicting interests, find a better doctor, dont shun medication or you may find yourself back in a bad situation. for every good doctor there are two bad doctors. most doctors dont understand how important it is to listen. Its possible to improve your stability and life functioning with meds while minimizing the # of pills you take.

  • I thought the idea was to get away from "mental illness" and towards "brain disorder"?

BTW, I commend all out there who continue there medications to stay healthy. I know sometimes the side effects are not always pleasant. I just really respect those who stay on tract and make it a priority to stay in check. KUDOS to you all.

  • It is true that NAMI has taken donations from some of these companies and I agree that it is something to be looked at but lets not throw the baby out with the bath water. Any person who has been treated for an ongoing illness can tell you that there are no services out there for us that are all good or all bad. You have to figure out what works best for you. Personally my medication makes it possible for me to deal with my symptoms and move foward in my life.

  • NAMI fronts for Pharma? OK, easy to believe. But who owns Pharma? The PILGRIMS SOCIETY that's who. The World Money POWER!!

  • Mr Breeding do you think mental health charities keep stigma alive?

  • Sound must be corrected as it is fine now.

  • allot of the pro-medication types, like people who I have met at the big Universities and who work in mental health hospitals say "but I have patients that are totally crazy" I mean totally insane violent when they are not on meds" that is always the reason why they think the meds are so important, danger to themselves and others. I would appreciate response or thought on what I always hear... not the voices in my head. ha ha ha

  • @cane443 there is people that are like that, no doubt about it, if not on meds, they are violent and dangerous.

  • @raycid74 btw im also a mental health patient im not a professional, but i've been in the system a while

  • @raycid74 yeah well im out of the system you folks call, and ill be the one to take it all down. Imagine all the power stations shutting down, Obama gets kidnapped, and all pscyh establishments lit up with C4

  • Recommendation - watch the video called "Psychiatry - Making a Killing"

    /watch?v=lglCDwifzio

  • Please repost the video with the better audio, I really like Dr. Breeding and would like to be able to make out what he is saying. Thanks!

  • BTW, I agree the sound is really bad on this video. I can't understand most of what he's saying because there's too much bass and some feedback in the sound

  • I think pharma also has people on these online forums and such, pretending to be people on these drugs and talk them up to people. I've been on a couple of forums with very suspicious users like this.

  • audio toooo low

  • I actually contributed an article to the local NAMI Newsletter about diet and how it has helped to curb my own anxiety and depression. The director for this chapter will be including my article in her section about New Year's Resolutions since many people look to their diets at this time. I also have talked about it while I have volunteered, and garnered some support from NAMI staff about it, so I'm excited :)

  • this video was unviewable due to the sound. there was too much base, no mids, and absolutely no treble. i tried everything in my mixer to fix the sound on my end, but the sound was just too awful.

well i did go and research the information myself. so whatever you were saying is correct.

  • I used to work for a NAMI "Club House Rehabilitation Program" from 1990 to about 1994. It existed to babysit a few patients and vacuum up State Medicaid money. I wasn't surprised to hear they'd been sold to Zyprexa. NAMI gets patients on SSI, so they can get Medicaid- the best pharmacy plan in the USA! That's the trough Big Pharma feeds at. The cash they toss NAMI is just crumbs from the Medicaid feeding frenzy.

  • I love you for telling us the truth. god bless.

  • If there was a god, I would spit in his face for allowing big pharma to exist. EVIL/SELFISH organization. Pray to Dr. John Breeding if anyone lol.

  • You have some problems, they give you some pills, there are side effects, then you tell your doctor about those side effects and he prescribes you some more pills to take care of THOSE problems, then you start having some other problems, more side effects, he tells you to just take some of this new stuff and that makes you feel....

and so on, and so on, and so on..........

that's why you find old people on 5-15 different drugs at a time.

Seems like a giant Pharmaceutical Pyramid Scheme.

  • There is only one thing that concerns me, and that is the complete silence on this topic out there. What brought Obama into office was a total dissatisfaction with the prior presidency, and yet the moment some leverage is attained in tackling this big pharma issue an uproar of one form or another will return, keeping it in place.

  • This man is all heart!

  • What?

  • A liberal group that supports keeping people labelled with mental illnesses out on the streets to subvert them and violate them of their human rights by a court order to treat them worse than being in a mental hospital can imagine treating them all for a buck... liberals the so called supporters of human rights and equalities and biggest Nazis in society today... BIG INFLUENCE of NAMI!!! Pelosi people, more mentally ill than the most impaired "schizophrenic"...

  • I'm not intrested in this group, but you've got my 2 cents when ever you want it.

  • most people doing crimes and killings are under psychiatric drugs and that is why they do it.

  • stupidity is a mental illness. so is crime.

  • Im curious about what motivates someone to make two snide comments an hour apart. Surely you realise that your comments make you look small minded and petty. They give people an insight into who you are, and say nothing about J. Breeding

  • I made 3 comments total yesterday. I need to keep comments easy for the dumbed down american masses to understand. my points are very to the point and short here. The person taking the video is trying to discredit this good and caring man by trying to say he don't even know the date. Secondly, I sent a long message to this channel people explaining that only talking about the problem is not enough and we need to organize and take these pharma people to court along with the corrupt bribed doctors

  • and my comments are not small minded or petty, they are very important if you know what I am talking about, but you clearly don't have a grasp on the issues or how to resolve them. for example; some of them psychopats are our politicians and top scientists; high IQ don't make them sane, and what they do to people with the psych meds and sick "treatments" for profit and for pleasure of watching people suffer. we the masses are stupid & that on its own is our mental illness to let them harm us.

  • Have a look at your own 2 short comments above and below my response to them!!!!

  • I have put 2 long comments explaining to you in detail since your brain don't work in short comments. I guess even the long version is not comprehnsible to you and that is why you need them meds most of all.

  • November 7th 2009 was a Saturday and not a Sunday. What is up???

  • What does a 59 year old on Lithium for 26 years and risperdal for two years do? I want to be me not what my doctor prescribes.

  • @fatbob1950 See a naturopathic doctor, chiropractor, spiritual counselor, nutritionist. It takes a huge support team to get off meds.

  • Yes. I think the group is good, because I know people in NAMI, but the drug support money is evident from their official stance on things. This is such a sad situation, because the propaganda for mental illness is so well completely done that if you try to posit not taking drugs you are labeled as denying that persons pain or hardship while just the opposite is true. Out of sight, out of mind, but the numbers are just growing =(.

  • Thank you for all the great info Dr Breeding.

  • dude looks better with a longer beard/hair ..still need some good eating `imho .. stop researching everything for a minute man, we all appreciate the work you do and information you share with us, really informative ..but get a minute for yourself will ye :)

    consider yourself told :)

  • Way to out them!
