My brother and I figured this trick out, to defeat the plant boss easily just stand directly under it and throw one player into it a few times and its dead, an easy way to defeat it quickly and with minimal damage

Looking back, maybe I WAS a bit harsh with my earlier comment. Sorry, really. Maybe I did get carried away.

Still, I think that it is possible to get through this stage with less damage, if teamwork and proper weapons are used. IMHO, even without Chaser Fireball and Lightning Sabre, teamwork can make the difference.

A couple of throws wouldn't hurt either. Bombs thrown STRAIGHT DOWN cause no damage whatsoever, as long as you're on the ground. Small glitch there, but a crowd-clearer.

INCORRECT. In Expert, Homing Laser (Chaser + Lightning) causes LESS damage, even with it's homing capability. Worse still, it's tendency to lock on random targets can leave you wide open to attack.

Best combinations are Chaser Fireball (Chaser + Fire) and Lightning Sabre (Lightning + Fire). Chaser Fireball's best used by a Fixed Shot player, though.

Another combination that might be useful is Exploding Fireball (Fire + Force). You can tap the Shot button to explode it at a short distance.

I recently bought an original cart of this game JUST BECAUSE it's probably one of my favourite games of all time. Got bored of RPG's and thought "fuck it, lets buy zone of the enders 2 and alien soldier" n shit like that.

I've tried to ditch chaser lightning while playing it now. I'm starting to like chaser/force now. Slightly less cheap.

its quite similar like gunstar heroes.

you got flame force, homing force, buster force (blaster from gunstar), sword (kinda like lightning) and 2 more.

you can only play with one char but you can switch between fixed and moving shot at any time.

That plant thing that shoots small bombs and caterpillars is called Papaya Dance.

There's a much faster way to defeat it.

Stand directly under it and just toss your teammate up toward it.

What a fucking classic .((EVERYBODY)) loves this game it is that good. I never completed it,I got to he spacecraft level and died and had no credits left. I always remember the level where you had to throw the dice and fight different villains especially the little midget bloke lol.I kicked him all over the place.

dude, here's a tip. The best guns in the game are the two green orbs used together. Believe me, I beat the game along with my buddy. And we're planning on rocking the virtual console version when it comes out this month!!!

I hear chaser does next to no damage to common enemy soldiers on expert mode.

It also homes in on all the wrong targets.

There IS an exception to this rule. Contrary to popular belief, the Chaser Fireball can be quite a boss-killer. Trade-off? You need to control the weapon. Fixed Shot users stand a better chance here.

EDIT: Oh, just Chaser. Well...if you can't find a better upgrade, stick with one Chaser until you can get one. It's slower, yes, but it's less likely to chase the wrong enemies.
