I play baritone horn, and Im looking at all the other comments saying that this song is hard to play. Either every other sections have incredibly hard parts or mine is just incredibly easy. Im playing this for the All-State Tennessee Band.
wow this is a hard piece to play. i'm a freshie in high school and it's hard, i know. but then again we're playing it at like 160>_>so this seems really slow to me.
at the beginning it sounds like the clarinets aren't together with the saxes or the brass.
it sounds cool with two piccolos though, we only have one. great sax solo=) strong brass. that's all i heard around 3:40(and throughout) overall vey good in my opinion=)
This is my favorite song of all time...i want to play it soooo badly but my band director hates it so it looks like that'll never happen....but great job USTWO!
MY school played this last year! My loser band director cut out the part from I to L because he was a loser and never let us try to get better! (Shortly after, he quit and went to TURPIN, but Campbell County is so much better...)
My band is playing this song for our Veterans day Concert. I think it it quite a fantastic piece and does a great job with voicing! I love this song it is so entertaining and has a positive attitude!
Our Top Band played this for competion, but the band I was in got the 1st and 3rd movements of Folk Song Suite, so it was fair, then we tried combineing the 2 to play this, didn't work =(, I liked that song too...
Very nice. Just wondering, why do you have some many clarinets in a wind symphony? I'm used to seeing 8 or so. That appears to be 12 by 5 seconds of inspection.
actually our band was first called the university of santo tomas symphony band and was later changed to university of santo tomas wind orchestra. i really don't know the reason why they changed the name. maybe because no other band in the philippines use the name wind orchestra.
We had to play this in the district high school honor band. i had to play the bells. it was intense, but it was east afterwards.

Horns, you need to play louder on that note 6 from the end.
Other than that, great job.

It's so beautiful, but so hard to play fast!
And our band is about as big as their clarinet section
And I'm like the only flute (:

that's because we have so many clarinet players in our school and everyone wants to play.

Well, its a Wind Ensemble. I'm a traditionalist. Lol. Don't you have a concert band?

I think the only problem here is the temp. that is the reason for the force sound. it needs to be sped up, that's all
lyvmad 4 years ago
it sounds a bit forced. blasty as u would say but at the edn it got better. and u kould have put a rit. at the end of the second to last note.
Mast3rTuba1990 5 years ago
this was our first piece for that concert so you can say it's a bit forced. just warming up.
