@blueberryxbrown First off, thank you SO much for favoriting the vid!
Regarding the shape, if you mean the dumplings, all I can say is practice, practice, practice. If you mean my boobs, then the answer would be "A lifetime of chicken."
@PhairAphrodite :O I meant the dumplings. It looks so effortless when my mum squishes them into shape but somehow I can only make really weird shaped dumplings or flat-edged ones. Mine don't look pretty at all.
@blueberryxbrown That's what i figured. xD Apparently I probably shouldn't reply to comments when I'm exhausted. I think the key is to REALLY pay attention the first couple of times when someone else does it and then just practice until you get the hang of it yourself.
What did you do with the filling after you mixed it? I couldn't tell if it was going into a microwave oven, or being frozen for the 2 hours. Really glad you posted this video! I've always wanted to try to make these, and the ones you made looked fantastic! Hope I can do that one day!
@witchapparatus Ideally you would use up all the filling. If not, it's really up to you to decide what to do with it. You could stir-fry it with vegetables or something, or make a meat pie, or smush someone's face in it, the sky's the limit! :D
Thanks for uploading this video! I'm studying Chinese too it was amazing I could understand everything you're saying!!! Is Chinese not your first language?
@polarbear4224 It depends on personal taste as well as the amount of ingredients you start with; if you have a lot of meat and/or vegetables, then you need more seasonings. However, if I remember correctly, I added about 1-3 tablespoons of soy sauce, oil, and wine each. For salt and pepper, somewhere between 1-2 teaspoons.
@SiennaVIP If the meat you're using contains enough fat, then you don't need a softening agent. For a (somewhat) healthier alternative if you prefer leaner meat, you can add oil, more eggs, and/or corn starch. How much you add determines how soft the filling will be.
@lalaheaven I get nervous on camera, plus i had only been taking Mandarin class/formally speaking it for like 2 months D:
The amount of ingredients doesn't really matter so I didn't bother; it depends on how much you want to make and how you prefer them, i.e. with more meat or less meat.
yo chinese dumplings are my favorite. i seen different technique folding the dumplings but you make it look easy. i always wanted to learn how to make them.

If you don't have shrimp, or if your allergic to it, can you use something else? Especially for utilizing the "softening agent"?

@nancyweeal For safety's sake, about several months, but ideally for as short a time as possible since you're not adding any preservatives.
