I think the ending was made this way to show the reality of life. When we were kids we were always so imaginative but the time comes when we need to grow up and face the world and reality.
i cried when i saw the ending...i cried with her and i was happy for her future...a good anime is one that makes you believe in the story and wish the best for the people in it...good ending...even though its not one id prefer....i didnt feel cheated
