I own a lucerne blue 74' T/A400and shes so awesome! I'll never sell her cus shes my second 74' i lost my first one when i was 19! I wrecked her in a street race..im more mature now!
Nice, but if you've got 600 hp to throw around, why have a 4:11 posi? Wouldn't that thing have had trouble reaching 140? I'd stick with the lowest gear ratio I could get if I were to have a car with that much power.
My first car ever was a 69' GTO Judge with a heavily modified 400,4 speed, 456 12 bolt and every goodie you can imagine.I miss that car now.I still dream about it.25 years later,I still dream about it,then I wake up and I am pissed I don't still own it!
yeah well like i said a million time, get the best sway bar you can get and update the suspention and take that muscle car agains any other cars, like i saw a 1970 charger beating a Lambo. of the year and some other new cars in a TRANS AM like race track!! And the 1/4 miles?? please that was a joke.
@MrWhiteHunter i dont doubt that the charger beat that lambo, you tune a classic like those, and with some time and effort can get alot of horses out of it. but it takes time ill bet.
@TheZackfair13 Well yeah, but basic old school mecanique.Exp.440 mopar engine rated at 375 HP 450 lbs Torque.Remove the manif.carbs,ect....spend avrage 4000$ on a tunel ram"blower" and you got your self and very Fu...g fast car.400 HP BOST and about the same for Torque. Now do the math for ANY imports ,that from the get,go was not made for any of this.
Im a car guy, I have owned both Imports and Domestics My current car being a 1997 Comp Ta. I have owned Imports (4Bangers) That would put my Ta with its Vortech SC 383 dick in the dirt. Problem is, most kids can not afford to mod their cars the right way. And instead do stuff to them that make them look cheap and run like shit. 170hp 1995 Eclipse GS would also stomp my car going through any pass in the Rockie Mountains. Like I said I love all cars. Just stating my opinion..Nice 70 TA in the vid
i guess i'm one of the few different ones then. i'm 17, my first car was a 94 firebird formula with a 6-speed manual and the LT1 350. i was an idiot and wrecked that going 95. busted my ass for the last 6 months to pay back the money i borrowed. now i'm looking into a 78 formula. i've never had much respect for ricers, but American Muscle flat out kicks ass.
@shadowsremain666 lol you sound alot like me. just my first car was a 78 t/a got it at 17 wrecked it doing 110 and spent about 6 months saving to fix it ($4200) trust me you'll take it easy with your next car.
@handymann3 DAYUM! im a year younger than you and id love to own and fix a 1972 charger. currently im helping my freind fix his 67 skylark, and i hope to get enough cash for my own muscle car soon! youre lucky to work on cars like that! i envy you :)
@HUEA45 not all of us! im 14, and im saving any little dollar i can get for a 72 dodge charger, and my best friend owns a 67 skylark, and hes only 12! i got another friend in my neighborhood looking into trying to get a 69 camaro. and a girl on my steet has an 84 trans am in her garage. you gotta admit sum of us love the big blocks. and to me newer cars other kids like look like shit compared to the classics and big blocks that refined the experience

Yes...the description says it's a four speed...the Trans Am of that generation either had a three speed auto or a 4 speed manual...and that doesn't have 600 HP....it's wayyy too quiet for 600 HP....sounds pretty stock to me.
This was a car we had years ago, not anything we restored, the motor was built by Butler Performance, prior to purchasing the car. It would really only run on TT111 high octane fuel, but ran really strong! It is no longer around, a local friend bought it and still has it today after several years. It really needed a new paint job and some time spent on light detailing, but showed well as a nice driver. Thanks
The simple answer is a long duration camshaft. You will get the lumpy idle. These older engines are large displacement torque monsters. Not even close to what we have nowadays. If you want a car to sound like that buy a 60's or 70's musclecar!
You could put any kind of throaty / growling exhaust on a stock , new generation Charger - Challenger - Mustang - GTO.. or what ever... although you can get a nice note from them... This thunder will never come out them.
Hi,I own an orange 72 455, just had a tremec 5 speed fitted - goes like a rocket! saving for a respray, black would look better. Not many of these in the UK, they fetch a lot of cash here. I dont ever expect to sell it, thanks for the vid, not many of these on you-tube. Mike in London.

I have a 79 Trans Am, just kinda curious about the stance.
what suspension is on her? Stock?
also what tires? they seem really nice and wide? Still 15s?
I'm guessing 245/60s or bigger?
I have the original snowflakes, so I'm sticking with those.
anyways love the ride, hope to meet you at next year's bandit run!
thanks

@MrWhiteHunter: All you'd need then is a low gear ratio, and you'd be all set to go, go, go! ;-)
